Austin

So here I am in Austin on a Saturday night. The people I came with for work left this afternoon back for NYC while I'll still be here till Friday. Been really tired since I've been working till 10/10:30 every night. So I decided not to try to go out on my own. I ended up ordering room service for sushi. We had it on Thursday night and it was really good so I decided to have it again. Not bad at all. I wouldn't think that they would have good sushi in Austin but I must say...it was better than most places that I've eaten in the Bay Area.

Scanning through the channels on the TV there was nothing on...so I decided to order a movie. Alfie...I wasn't sure if it'd be good but I heard a few good things about it. I actually liked it. Good thing! Money not wasted...haha. Was deciding on another movie but realized that I might just fall asleep since I'm so tired...I'll just read some and go to bed. Tomorrow I get a day to relax before starting to work hard again for 5 whole days. Ok...off to reading now for me.

Snow

So I finally got back to NYC on Wednesday night and reported to work on Thursday morning...after being so tired from travelling and being delayed at the airport. Well, I get in...they make us wait 1/2 hour before bringing us up to HR and then I'm told that I'm going to Austin on Sunday...nice notice huh? Oh well...so I'm sitting here now on Sunday with a big blizzard that had happened yesterday and calling the Airlines and waiting over an hour on the phone...ok...so my friend called for me...to find out that the flight is cancelled. I get a hold of my manager on the job and he tells me he wants to fly on a later flight than the one that I've rescheduled myself on so then...now I'm waiting for him to call me back to let me know what flight I should reschedule myself on. 2 days of flights have been cancelled! Can you believe that? Oh well...I've been in NYC a total of what? 6 days since I moved in January...not even enough time for me to find an apartment yet...so I'm still homeless...oh well, I'll look when I get back from Austin in February.

So funny....I thought I posted this on the 23 but just realized that it was draft. Stupid me.

St Charles

So I'm in St. Charles, IL for Training...and there is absolutely nothing really to do around here. There is a campus bar and that's about it. We're going to the outlet malls today so that should be good I hope. Training has been good...I've been able to meet some really cool people and I'm learning lots. I'm just really looking forward to going to Chicago on the weekend and hanging out there. But better yet...I can't wait to go back to NY so I can try to settle in and find a place and spend some quality time with Dim Sum...she's so sad!

Delaware

So I had my first ful day of work today...but' it' just orientation in Delaware. We had a meet an greet last night when we got into town That was reall fun meeting everyone. Our orientation was good...it reassured me that I made the right decision with this company...but we'll see as the weeks go by.

I"m sitting in my hotel room now waiting for our dinner event. Don't think there is much to do in Delaware but we get to go to Philly tomorrow night and they said that it's better there.

Mix Up

I feel like such a stupid person. I booked my ticket to Paris on travelocity. I never book on travelocity. Anyways, on my return flight it said...SN Brussels Airlines connect to American Airlines...stupid me...didn't read the details until my friend in Paris asked me the morning of the flight...what terminal are you in? I'm like...here look at it...he looks at it and says...why does it say you're suppose to be at the train station? Shit!!!! I ended up having to take a train to Brussels and then get on a plane to NYC. I was freaking out...but now that I think of it...it wasn't so bad....I made it back ok...so no harm done. Poor friend in Paris had to take me to the train station when he was hangin...haha...Thanks man!

Finally Hitting Me

In this whole time up to the move...everyone would be "are you excited?" and I'd answer...not really...it hasn't really hit me...well sitting here in Paris with everyone passed out and me with 2 1/2 hours left till I have to leave to the airport for my flight to NYC and I think it's finally sunk in. I'm moving! I'm happy yet also sad...I don't know how to explain it. Cause I know I'm totally psyched about going to NYC but for some reason when I start to think about my new job and my move being final, I start getting teary eyed and I don't know what it is that is causing it. It starts to remind me of the time I moved to Sunnyvale from Vancouver...it never really fully hit me till I was sitting at the airport with my friend that drove down with me and we were waiting for his flight home...maybe this is the same thing...where this is the final goodbyes until I start my new chapter in my life.

Paris

NYE in Paris...it was pretty busy walking on the streets. It was great! Unfortunately, we didn't leave the apartment until Midnight so it was already past when we were on the streets. Paris is nice...but it's been very tiring here...the time change and the travelling around. The first night here we had fois gras and beef tartar. The beef tartar was good after we took it home and fried it up with an egg...haha. Sushi in Paris wasn't bad either. Well, it's NY now and most things are closed...but I think they said that some clubs are open...so we'll see what's on the agenda for tonight.
