Scout Camp

Today Kaden left for his first scout camp! He was so excited!! I'm glad he has good leaders and friends who are going with him so I don't have to worry. I worry too much as it is--I keep thinking-what if he can't find his way back to his camp or what if there are no friends in his merit badge classes, what if he gets homesick (ha he already told me he won't because he has so many friends there), I could what if forever! It is hard to see him grow up for some reason--he's always been my "little guy" who "needed" me. He doesn't need me as much anymore--which is a good thing! I didn't get any pictures of him and he is probably just fine with that!! Hope you have a great week, Kaden! We miss you!

Happy Birthday, Kaden!

Today is Kaden's 12th birthday! I can not believe my little guy is not so little anymore. Where has the time gone? He will be ordained a Deacon at church on Sunday. I will have three boys going to Mutual and holding the Aaronic Priesthood. It just blows my mind. I remember years ago thinking about the time when I would have a Priest, a Teacher and a Deacon and now it's here....it seemed like it would take forever.

I am so proud of Kaden. He is such a hard worker in school and made the honor roll all four quarters in six grade this past year. He loves to hang out with his friends and has really become a social guy this last year. He is the most loyal Chicago Cubs fan I know (you could NEVER call Kaden a "bandwagon"--he sticks to his teams whether they do well or not!). He has loved the Cubs since he was old enough to say his favorite team name. I still don't know where he got it--none of us are Cubs fans. I love his loyalty and heart when it comes to the things he is passionate about.

I love Kaden so much! He makes me smile and I love that he will still let me hug him! Happy Birthday, Kaden!

Blacksmith Fork Trappers

During the summer months, the Mountain Crest Mustangs are called the Blacksmith Fork Trappers. It really is a mystery to me WHY, but I guess someone complained that we couldn't wear our school colors during Legion ball--(funny because Logan does and so does Sky View??). Anyway--there are four Legion teams. The B team which is Freshman, two A teams--which are Sophomores and Juniors and then the AA team made up of the Seniors and a few underclassman who fill in the gaps. Tanner tried out for the B team earlier this week and found out Wednesday night that he made it. I was a little happy to see that he was nervous rather than feeling too comfortable!! Zach is playing on the AA team. Zach has already played in a tournament in Idaho Falls (last week) and had four games this week. Tanner begins his games on Monday. We will get to travel to Spokane for another of Zach's tournaments which we are all looking forward to. It is fun to travel to places we have never been. My posts are all about baseball, but really, that is what we do this time of year. Brynn tags along to most games in spite of her protests and Kaden finds something else to do (like hang with friends or watch his Cubs on TV). We are looking forward to a fun summer of Trapper baseball. (let's just hope the weather will cooperate and quit being so cold and wet!)
