lost tooth...

Alexis finally lost her first tooth today at school!!! She has been wiggling the poor thing to death and it finally gave in! She also informed me that the word on the street is that for your first lost tooth the Tooth Fairy brings a toy or $10.00! What??

Small world...

While in Utah we decided to go through the Open House for the new Draper Temple. As we were going through the temple I turned to look as a new group was filing up the stairs and there were some of our friends from our ward in Boston! It was so great to see Ryan and Vanh Williams and their girls, Moniq and Mon'e! After going through the temple we met up for lunch to catch up on things and it made me homesick for all of our other friends we had in Boston as well. We really did love our time there and miss so many people that made such an amazing impact on our lives!
After the temple tour you go into a little reception area where they have cookies, water and pictures displayed of all the other temples around the world. I think Bryan and I will need to make a special trip to see the Newport Beach Temple soon!
My parents and some other family members came through the temple with us as well. It really was such a beautiful temple and I was so glad my kids were able to experience it. Alexis had her little brochure with her the whole time and was checking it off as we went through each room.

Pringle Beaks....

We made a quick road trip to Utah for Bryan's Grandma Delsa's funeral. She was 88 and had lived a long full life up until the end where she was pretty much confined to a bed. Bryan's Grandpa, Delsa's husband, had passed away in November of last year. Bryan's Grandma died on February 13 just in time to be with her sweetheart for Valentine's Day. On the trip there and back my kids spent a good portion of the time pretending to be ducks with their "Pringle Beaks." Where do they come up with these things? Anyhow, as long as their not fighting for a few minutes, I don't care what they're doing. Bennett just kept telling the to "stop!" that's his new word but of course he has to say it with the hand and all! I'm actually glad his new word is "stop." For the longest time it has been "sit" but he adds a nice little "sh" sound to the front of the word before he says it. Yeah, we've had lots of funny looks on that one but what can you do. Our trip to Utah went well expect for the major meltdowns from my kids when it's time to go. To say they love all their Grandparents and cousins more than anything, doesn't do it justice! They really, really love their family there and want to live right by them.

Bennett

Really, no comment needed. I spend most of my time trying to keep him from doing exactly this. Exhausting!

Garrett started pre-school today

So today was Garrett's first day of pre-school and he loved it. He knows 2 of the kids in the class already so that made it even easier for him. To be honest I had a ton of anxiety about him starting pre-school. He is such a little homebody and likes me to be right with him all the time so I was worried about him being okay for 2 and 1/2 hours. When we first got to the school we were greeted by a few of the teachers. They said to Garrett, "Hi, we are so happy to have you join us and what is your name?" Garrett replys, "It's Garrett." Teacher says, "Well welcome Garrett and how old are you?" Garrett's reply, " I'm twenty!" The funny thing is that he is totally serious. He tells people all the time that he is 20. I have no idea why but that's what he thinks!
On a side note, it is a little odd for him to be starting pre-school in the middle of the year but they had an opening and we took it! After being on the waiting list since June we will get in when we can!

Happy V-Day, a little late...

For dinner tonight we had the classic heart shaped pancakes! I was going to make them for breakfast yesterday morning but that didn't happen so we had them tonight! The pic above is a close up of what I consider to be the most beautiful flower around, the Gerber Daisy. My favorite flower use to be the Tulip until one year when I was in young women's and one of my YW leaders brought us each a Gerber Daisy. I had never seen one and they have been my favorite ever since. (* I still do love Tulips too!)

Garrett's swimming lessons...

Garrett finished up his swimming lessons last week and will be starting pre-school on Tuesday! We have been on a waiting list for this pre-school since last June and are now finally getting in. He is so excited and I am looking forward to the one on one time I will get with Bennett a couple days a week.

Bat -Bird?

Move over Bat Man there is a new super hero in town, Bat Bird! My kids love to dress up in Halloween costumes year round and this was Bennett's choice today. I had about 2 seconds to snap off these pic's before he was up and running all over the place. The costume lasted for about 20 minutes and then he was mad at it trying to get it off. Maybe he wasn't meant to do the superhero thing after all!

Valentine's treat & craft...

Today I was watching my friends kids and I decided to do a Valentine craft and treat with them. The treat is something my Mom had told me about so I thought I would try it out. Aren't they so cute! Yummy and so simple to do. Garrett and his buddy Halen call them "Pretzel Pyramids." For the craft we put some crayon shreddings on wax paper and melted them to make our "Valentine Sun Chasers." Unfortunately, the sun wasn't out much today, it was snowing this morning but they were still able to see a little color when they put it up to the window.
