Before the clock strikes 12,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMAMA! (:My grandma doesn't come online so she'll probably not read this.
But just to let you all know something about her.
Some of you may have already met my mama, some may have pleasant experiences with her and other probably not.
But as I grow up, I assure you, her hostile looks mean no harm.
My grandmama. One admirable old woman.
She turned 79 today and I'm 21 this year.
Since the moment I came out from my mother's womb, No, since my brother came out, she's been taking
good great care of both of us.
I remember when my brother was in kindergarten, he had a very high fever.
It was so high, he was immobile. What did 60+ years old grandma do?
She carried him on her back all the way to the doctors and got him treated.
Grandmama cooked the most nutritious meals for us.
She ensured that we always had sufficient nutrients to keep us going at every point of our lives.
When my brother was active in sports, she'd cook high in protein and nutrious food for him.
When I was in the choir, she'd constantly make honey lemon drinks for me to bring for training.
When the weather gets warm and unpredictable, she boils barley for us.
Healthy snacks were always her choices for tea times.
We didn't have potato chips and much ice-cream but had green bean soup or tong shui (cooling water)
At times when we think back and even now when I talk to my friends about what we eat.
the time when they say, "oh i loved eating that as a child", "that's my childhood snack", I find it difficult to relate to them because I was in a way pampered by old grandmama.
Because of grandma, I have a habit of eating every meal of the day.
In more recent moments. As you all know, I stay on campus now.
Every weekend, grandma would call to ask if I was going home for dinner.
She's worried about the amount of nutrition I get from eating at the canteen and having takeaways every other day.
She brings me to the grocery shop sometimes to get snacks for campus life and every Essence of Chicken for the mid-terms.
Most of the times, I take mama for granted because I'm so used to her being around and sometimes act as though I'm an ungrateful brat when I'm tired.
I know I hurt her everytime I do things like that.
But mama has never stopped loving me.
She always cared, and will always care and will always do what's best for me.
I've never told her in words, usually only in cards,
but I LOVE MY GRANDMA! <3
