BrookeLynn shooting an arrow.
Last summer the kids got to go to cub scout day camp.  It was a five day 8am-4pm camp.  The days were packed with arts and crafts, songs, archery, BB gun shooting, physical exercise, making snacks, learning skits, and much more.  I helped out for most of the days.  We braved the hot sun and humidity and enjoyed our time at the camp.  BrookeLynn was able to attend the camp too.  We will probably attend next years camp as well.

Family Field Trip to the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial

I love homeschooling!  Why?  Because we get to count hours for school doing activities like the one we did today.  We went to the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial.  Also known as that big Arch in Saint Louis, which Chris once called as a child "Donalds" because it reminded him of the McDonald arches.  It was so much fun and we got to learn as a family!  That's five hours toward core subjects like Science and History.  Check.

This picture was taken after we walked about a half mile in around 40 degree weather.  The only one who remembered to bring his gloves was Chris.  It has been hard coming back from the warmer weather we experience during our Christmas vacation in North Carolina.

This is the car that you ride to the top.

View from the top of the Gateway Arch!  The kids said that the cars looked like toys.

I really like how this spelling book brakes the words into syllables and shows how the pronounce.  In my opinion it makes reading and spelling a whole lot easier,  Why don't we just write like this?

One last look from were we parked.
