Fall Soccer

Oakley decided that she wanted to try out soccer and she is loving it! She has played almost every position so far, but her favorite has been goalie. I love watching her play and she waves at us all the time:) Oakley has really struggled with self-esteem and putting herself out there so I am really proud of her for trying something new. I think it is going to help her a ton!

Softball love

Taylor played spring softball and really improved this year. She was the main pitcher and it was so much fun to see her confidence boost. She did so well that she made all-stars. What a trip down memory lane. I played for over 10 years and loved it! She learned a ton this year and her all-star coach was amazing! Here is a pic of her batting and then getting hit in the foot. Hey, we will take a walk any day to first:)Fall ball here we come!!!!

Parker"s outta here......

Out of here as in he is out of Elementary:) Parker is such an easy going kid. He makes my life really easy because he just goes with the flow. He hangs out with a great group of kids. He helps me out alot. He is a good student at school and I just love having him around. Here are a few pics of his 6th grade graduation. I had to work so Matt went which was sad because I hate to miss anything with my kids. Yet I am so glad he had his dad there. Here's to the joys of Jr.High!

Oakley turns 8 ( 3 months ago:)

My beautiful Oakley turned 8 on June 3rd. The time really seems to be flying since she is my youngest. I love Oakley's feisty personality. That girl can throw out some crazy fast comebacks like you wouldn't believe. She has a personality all her own and I love it. She has the cutest dimples, and beautiful blue eyes. She loves to play soccer and softball. She is very loving and is my sidekick. I love this little girl!

Oh it's on!!!

Oh it's on people! It's on. I am not waiting for New Year's. I'm not waiting for after the holiday's. I am losing this weight before all that. Starting tomorrow!!! You may have heard me talk about this awesome challenge before. It's called 8 weeks to a better you. I love it. It's all about the challenge, but I love that it makes me a better person spiritually too. There are 10 things you work on each day. Exercise, a good nights rest, 64 oz of water, no sugar, no soda/junk food/fast food, 2 servings of fruits and veggies, no eating after 8 pm, write in a journal (blog), read scriptures or other uplifting reading for 15 mins, and complete an act of service or random act of kindness. They pool a small amount of money and at the end it is divided up to the winners. I have gotten money at the end the two times I have done it, but the reason I am doing it is for the fun support and challenge. If your interested check out the blog www.8weekstoabetteryou.blogspot.com or their facebook page 8 weeks to a better you. You will love the support and advice that is given from all the peeps doing it:) Wish me luck!!

2012 update

How sad is it that I haven't blogged in MONTHS!! We have been crazy busy here and it shows:) Here's the skinny of what we have been up to.

December- Christmas was great. We enjoyed the holidays visiting with friends and family. We had work parties and family parties that kept us entertained for the month of December:)

January- The New Year came and so did new goals and challenges. Matt traveled quite a bit, but we are used to that:)We have been working on adjusting to Matt traveling alot and me working 5 days a week. We had a fairly mild winter which I will take anytime.

February- Life is still crazy. Parker is in the school play and he is so busy with play practice. Taylor is taking piano lessons and amazes us how quick she picks it up. Oakley is really progressing in her reading which is a sigh of relief for me. I continue to be crazy busy at work. Matt is still in and out of town.

March- Matt is out of town again:) Are you noticing a pattern? Good thing he loves his job. The weather is teasing us and we could not be more excited for spring to come. Parker is coming home from Houston tonight. He has been there over a long weekend visiting Matt. That kid flys way more that me! No fair!!!

I have learned alot about myself and my little family over the past few months. My kids rock. I have been so amazed at how independent they are. They have at times had to make their own breakfast or be self starters until I can get home from work when Matt is out of town. I really appreciate all they do without complaining.

Matt is going to be having surgery on his eye next week. He had Bells Palsy about 7 years ago and his eye has not been the same since. He is glad to finally get it fixed. He is a great provider for us and often only does things for us and not himself. I am glad he can do something for himself for once that is important to him.

Parker is amazing. He really is such an easy kid that I just love so much. He really makes my happy to be his mom and I am always proud of the man he is becoming. He is looking forward to playing football this year!

Taylor amazes me with her sense of style. My goodness that girl is cute!! Lots of things also come so easy to her. She gives me a run for my money on many days but when it comes down to it, I sure love her.

Oakley is my little love bug. She melts me with her tiny voice but spitfire personality.

I sure love my kids. My job keeps me happy/crazy/busy and I love every minute of it. It has been an adjustment for our family to figure out how to make things work with a working mom, but I think we are getting it. It was always important for me to be at home with my kids until they got into school. So having that completed it has been so nice for me to find my place again in this world.

Prayers

I am asking for prayers from all of my friends. A friend of ours was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She had a double mastectomy and now found out that it has spread to her liver and lungs. Please pray for Charese.

Also my mom was diagnosed with Parkinson's this week. She has had a horrible year and this diagnosis has brought on so much stress for her and my dad. Please keep them in your prayers too.
