It was a GREAT birthday!
Seriously!
One of the best ever!
And I want to thank each one of y'all who left a comment with birthday wishes for me.
Here just a few of the many, many, many pictures taken on my 52nd (yeah! I'm not afraid to admit it! LOL) birthday.

I was VERY excited to receive this way cool lamp from my oldest daughter.
(note the look of excitement on my husband's face.
now if that had been a golf club....)

Feliz Navidad from Atlanta
These pictures show just a tiny bit of my oldest daughter's
lovely home and gorgeous Christmas decorations.
This is a shopping snow "lady" that I gave D as
a gift a few years ago.
It's now in the bathroom off the guestroom I stay in when I'm here.

C'Est la Vie
I quit the job(ett) today.
Don't I look happy?
(picture taken with my new Blackberry.yes, I'm spoiled. See below*
and yes, those are two different patterns
of Vera Bradley in the backseat)
The money was nice, but the job was majorly getting in the way of my REAL career:
*Trophy Wife
so..... you know...... it had to go.
Then...I was reading my favorite gossip blog: Dlisted....
and Robbie Nevil...the one hit wonder...was featured as "Slut of the Day"....and this video was posted.
Coincidence?
I think not!

Where has this quote been all my life?!?!?

Wow!
Call me corny or sappy or old-fashioned or a Pollyanna,
but I just ADORE this quote of Audrey's.
Of course I adore Audrey, too.
I would love to have this on the wall of a dressing room/closet.
Wouldn't that be fun?!?!?

...and yet another reason why I call it Hell

We're currently under tornado watch and flood warnings in our county. The sirens are going off. My husband called and they have the college students in the hallways. I'm at work in my cozy little office.
The radio just informed me that the warnings have been extended until noon.
It's around 68 degrees.
The weather forecast for tomorrow is snow.
Good grief!

Please explain

how a 61 year old college professor has the unfortunate habit of creating far too many "D'oh!" moments?
All responses are appreciated.
Thank you.

Pissy's new living room!!!!
I hadn't intended to start this post with that picture, but I'm not being given a choice.
We'd just hung the mirror, so you get to see me AND my husband in this shot.
Bonus!
Anyway.....here are some pictures
of my newly re-done living room
in all it's bright, polka dotted, retro glory.
It's OK if you don't like it.
I LOVE it!
I chose the furniture and rugs and some of the accessories,
but my oldest daughter actually did the
decorating. Putting everything together
and doing
all the little things that make the room special (to me).
She's really talented and so wonderful
about helping me out with
decorating.
Thanks, Sweetie!

Ummmm...OK

Found this today when I was looking at posters online.
...and while I think it's clever and funny in a snarky way, who would want to hang that poster?
Maybe it's intended to be a gag gift?
Maybe I'm just too old to get it?
Maybe I take my interior decorating too seriously?
I'm gonna go with the third option.

Twilight in Atlanta
Yes, I'm in Atlanta again.
Yes, I was just here last weekend.
Yes, I love it that much.
BUT
I'm REALLY here for logistical reasons: both my daughters are going back to Enterprise with me Tuesday.
THEN their husbands will drive down on Wednesday with their dogs...each in their own vehicle.
Did that make sense?
It does when I talk about it, but writing it is much more difficult.
Anyway, went to a 7:40 showing at Perimeter last night of "Twilight".
Yes, I'm 51 years old and have read all the books.
What's your point?
The movie was better than I expected it to be.
That's all I'm sayin' about it.
And on a different note: I am in the process 0f a total make-over of the living room in the main part of my house.
As opposed to the living room at the other end of the house which we refer to as "the man cave".
I know.
Original.
I'll post pictures of the room in all it's glory when we're finished.
The living room.
Not the man cave.
I'm going now.
I'm rambling and Reuben (Little Pissy's dog who I am currently dog sitting for) is starting to look at me funny.

5th Earl~Decatur
I've been in Atlanta since Wednesday.
Going back to Enterprise tomorrow only because I have to work on Monday.
I just love it here so much.
It's lovely this time of year.
We don't have Fall in Enterprise....or seasons, really.
I miss that.
Today I went to 5th Earl for the first time.
It's a cozy restaurant bar near the Agnes Scott campus.
Here are some pictures.

~and~
If I ever decide to lead a dog sled team, I've found the perfect hat.

800 mgs and some beach pictures
Trust an insurance company to screw things up.
I wasn't able to have the MRI because Blue Cross/Blue Shield didn't get my pre-certification paperwork to the facility in time. As of today, it's still not there and I'm supposed to begin physical therapy today.
*sigh*
Back still nags at me....though not nearly as bad as it was. I take an anti-inflammatory when it starts to hurt and that seems to help. I'm sort of afraid of those muscle relaxers I was prescribed. Those suckers are 800 mgs, I have 90 of them and a prescription for a years worth! Hello, addiction to painkillers!!! No thanks, Doc!
Enough of that.....I'm SO sick of back issues.
We went to the beach this weekend....Friday through Sunday.
Here are some pictures I took.
Most at my favorite beach town EVER: Seaside.
Maybe these will help everyone's Monday.
Enjoy!

*double sigh*
This is all Blogger will let me upload.
So more tomorrow....
