Boo

Hey y'all! Happy Tuesday! How is your day going so far? Great, I hope! I wanted to hop online right quick and share a card I made yesterday with you guys. This card is for the current challenge at 'My Craft Spot.' This weeks challenge was to do some type of embossing on your project, which worked out great for me because my Cuttlebug has been very neglected here lately. Also, it gave me the perfect opportunity to work with a new set of SVG files I purchased from My Grafico. Here is what I came up with:

"Boo" Card

Supplies Used
Cardstock: The Paper Studio, Bazzill Basics Paper
Patterned Paper: Jillibean Soup, Imaginisce
Rhinestones/Pearls: Queen & Co
Alphabet Stickers: Momenta
Stamps: Peachy Keen, Studio G
Ink: Stampin' Up!
Electronic Cutter: Cricut Expression (Provo Craft)
Electronic Cutter Software: Sure Cuts A Lot (Craft Edge)
SVG's: Blackleaf Design (My Grafico), My Scrap Chick
Embossing Machine: Cuttlebug (Provo Craft)
Embossing Folders: Swiss Dots, D'Vine Swirl (Provo Craft)
Embossing Plate: Weave Texture (Stampin' Up!)
Adhesive: Helmar, ZIG glue pen

For this card, I started out by cutting my scalloped rectangle card base. I cut this using my Cricut and the '30 Boxes & More' set from My Scrap Chick. I then started to work on the cute little witch. I purchased her at My Grafico and it was designed by Blackleaf Design. You can check out that set of SVG files HERE if you are interested. It is such an adorable set and very reasonably priced. Now, I won't lie, this was one of the more tricky SVG's I've ever put together and I've been putting them together for years now. It cut pretty good, but there are some tiny pieces. So the tweezers and Zig glue pen were my BFF when putting her together. But once together, I was so pleased with how she came out. She is just so cute! Also, since the challenge did require embossing, I embossed her dress (Swiss Dots), her hair (D'Vine Swirl), and the black dotted background (Sizzix Embossing Plate, Weave Texture) using my Cuttlebug Embossing Machine. I then added some bling and alpha stickers.
Love these alpha's from Momenta. They have a subtle glittery effect to them. And noticed her shoes...see the little stripes on her socks? Those were the trickier parts to cut and place. But aren't they cute? I love striped socks!
I used Zap Dots to pop up the frame around the witch to add some dimension.
I used a stamp on the inside.
That's all for me today! I need to go and clean my house a tad. Then maybe scrap! So much to do!
Thanks for dropping in for a 'spell'!!! LOL! Excuse my corny attempt at humor!
Happy Scrappin'!!!

Step Right Up

Hey guys! Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Today I have a DT post going up at "She's A Sassy Lady" and wanted to share my project with you guys here as well. As many of you already know, my Mom (and BFF!!!) is a 5th grade teacher at our local elementary school. I know I'm biased, but she is the BEST teacher! She really loves her job and you can tell it is her calling in this life. She has such a passion for educating and she comes up with some of the neatest things for the kids to do to help them learn the various subjects.

Anyways, each year she decorates her classroom in a different theme. This year she decided she wants to do a 'Circus' theme with bright, bold primary colors. So of course I had to volunteer to help her make a few projects for her room. Here is what I came up with:

"Welcome" Banner

Supplies Used
Cardstock: The Paper Studio
Patterned Paper: Momenta
Ribbon: source unknown (picked this up at a local discount store)
Brads: The Paper Studio
Electronic Cutter: Cricut Expression (Provo Craft)
Cartridge: Cricut Lite Carousel
Software: Cricut Gypsy (Provo Craft)
Laminator/Laminating Pockets: Purple Cows
Adhesive: Helmar

Instead of the normal pennant shaped banner pieces I go for, I used the ticket cut from the Carousel cartridge for the banner pieces. Since this will be displayed above her door all year long, I laminated the banner pieces and the letters to protect them.
(to see bigger, click on the picture and then hit the back button to return to this post)
I used Zap Dots to pop up the letters for more dimension. I adhered the ribbon with Liquid Scrap Dots.
Isn't this ribbon yummy?!!! I wish I would've bought more! It reminds me of the circus tent top.
 "Boy/Girl Restroom/Hall Passes"

Supplies Used
Cardstock: The Paper Studio
Patterned Paper: Momenta
Ribbon: source unknown
Brads: The Paper Studio
Staples: Swingline
Electronic Cutter: Cricut Expression (Provo Craft)
Cartridge: Birthday Cakes
Software: Cricut Gypsy (Provo Craft)
Laminator/Laminating Pockets: Purple Cows
Adhesive: Helmar

Here is the boys pass...
 And the girls pass...
 "Altered Circus Themed Hand Sanitizer"

Supplies Used
Cardstock: The Paper Studio
Patterned Paper: Momenta
Alphabet Stickers: American Crafts
Ribbon: American Crafts, Offray
Button: The Paper Studio
Glitter Glue: Stickles (Ranger Industries), Fruit Punch
Electronic Cutter: Cricut Expression (Provo Craft)
Cartridge: Birthday Cakes
Software: Cricut Gypsy (Provo Craft)
Adhesive: Helmar
Hand Sanitizer: Germ-X
That is all for me today. I hope you all have a wonderful Monday!
See you soon and thanks for dropping by!
Happy Scrappin'!

Brrrr...Baby, It's Cold Outside!

Happy Sunday All! I hope your weekend is going great! I have been at my scrappy desk this morning working on a card for the current challenge at My Craft Spot. This weeks challenge was themed around Christmas in July. Can you believe we are already half way through this year and that Christmas will be here before we know it? I know it seems like a long way off, but it always amazes me at how fast Christmas time arrives. This year I am going to start doing my Christmas shopping in early October. We usually wait until the last minute and I always hate trying to shop in that last minute holiday rush. LOL. It's just awful! So this challenge helped me to go ahead and get started on Christmas cards to send out.

"Brrr...Baby, It's Cold Outside"

Supplies Used
Cardstock: The Paper Studio
Patterned Paper, Chipboard Button: Cosmo Cricket
Alphabet Stickers: Pink Paislee
Pearls: Queen & Co
Twine: Divine Twine
Electronic Cutter: Cricut Expression (Provo Craft)
Cartridges: Simply Charmed, Gypsy Wanderings, Winter Woodland
Software: Cricut Gypsy (Provo Craft)
Adhesive: Helmar

I chose a winter stocking hat from Simply Charmed and used my Gypsy to weld it together to make a shaped card. The snowman is from Gyspy Wanderings and the title 'Brrr' is from Winter Woodland. This card came together really quickly. I'd say it took me about 20 minutes to make this one.
I used my Gypsy and the 'hide' feature to hide the flourish that was on the snowman. I love that feature of the Gypsy. It's nice to only cut what you want to cut.
I used Zap Dots to pop up my title for a little dimension.
Ok, back to the scrappy studio for me. I've got some work to do! Enjoy the rest of your day!
Happy Scrappin'!!!

Absolutely Adorable

Hey guys! Happy Saturday! I hope you are enjoying a wonderful weekend! It is HOT, HOT, HOT here! I am burning up and so ready for some relief from this heat! I went out for a bit and it was just too hot. You could barely breathe outside so I came back in and scrapped! I finished up another page for the Kiel album.

"Absolutely Adorable"

Supplies Used
Cardstock: The Paper Studio
Patterned Paper: The Paper Studio, The Girls Paperie
Die Cuts: Momenta, Carolyn Gavin (Hobby Lobby)
Pearls: Queen & Co
Border Sticker: Pink Paislee
Alphabet Stickers: Bella Blvd.
Ribbon: Offray
Thread: Coats & Clark
Ink: ColorBox (Clearsnap)
Electronic Cutter: Cricut Expression (Provo Craft)
Software: Sure Cuts A Lot
Font: Designer Digitals (Ali Edwards)
Adhesive: Helmar
Other: sewing machine

This layout features little Audrey's first week at home and the many visitors she had. The blue/white striped paper is a place where Mrs. Kiel may journal her thoughts, etc. For the word 'absolutely', I purchased the 'Positive Adverbs Hand Drawn Adverbs' set from Designer Digitals, converted it into a SVG file, and cut it out using my SCAL software. If you are interested in this brush set, go HERE. I love the sets from Ali Edwards. I plan on purchasing several more!
Doesn't this font rock? I love the style of it. The little green alpha's were fun to work with too!
These little butterfly die cuts are from Momenta and Mrs. Kiel sent them for me to work with. I love the glittery effect they add to the page.
Thanks for dropping by today! If you are getting out and about in this awful heat, try and stay cool! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Affectionate About Altering

Hey y'all! Happy Tuesday! I hope you are having a wonderful week so far! I have a new blog post going up on the Momenta Blog today and I thought I'd share my projects with you here as well. I created 2 altered projects for today's post. Each of these projects are for my BFF, my Mom, Carol. I always enjoy making little gifts for her!

Altered "Animal Print Boxed Card Set"

Supplies Used
Boxed Card Set, Patterned Paper, Stickers, Bling: Momenta
Cardstock: Momenta, The Paper Studio
Ribbon: Offray
Adhesive: Helmar

Have you seen the adorable 'Boxed Card Sets' from Momenta? Oh my! They are so super cute! Each set comes with 12 cards/envelopes, stickers, cardstock borders, and bling all in a neat little box! They are so cute and so alterable! When I saw this animal print one, I had to alter it up for my Mom. We both love bold prints and I hope she will enjoy this in her scrappy studio. She is always telling me how she needs cards. So with this she can jazz up a card in a jiff to send out.
See all the goodies that come inside?! Yum! There are 4 different patterns on the cards. There is a pink zebra print, a black zebra print, a pink cheetah print, and a gold leopard print. And the envelopes are PINK! My favorite color!!! Then when you have used up all the cards, you are left with a sturdy little box!
Next up, I altered a little frame for Mom. As many of you may know, Mom teaches 5th grade. This year she has decided to decorate her classroom in a circus theme. How cute will that be!!! She decorates her room a little different each year and I always enjoy helping her create projects for the classroom. I thought a monogrammed frame would look nice on her desk. So, I found this frame at a local dollar store and altered it up. I did not care for the pattern on the frame so I took some chipboard, used the frame as a template, and traced onto some chipboard. I then covered the chipboard with patterned paper and adhered that over the frame using some Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive.
 Altered "Monogrammed Circus Frame"

Supplies Used
Patterned Paper, Stickers: Momenta
Ball Fringe: Hobby Lobby
Adhesive: Helmar
Frame

These red crimped alpha stickers from Momenta are perfect for monograms. Each sticker sheet has 2 different sizes of the letters. So I used a small 'C' and a small 'D' for her her first and middle initials. Then I used a large 'F' for her last initial. I put these in a diagonal pattern across the glass of the frame. Then I added the circus themed embellishments and some ball fringe.
Aren't these clear layered stickers the cutest?!!!
 And they provide great dimension!
I sure hope Mom will enjoy these 2 altered items. I am pretty sure she will! And I hope these projects will inspire you to look around your world and alter something up! Altering really is so fun!

Thanks for visiting my blog! Happy Scrappin'!!!

Welcome Home

Hey guys! Happy Monday! How are you doing on this beautiful day? I hope you are doing great! It's soooo hot here today! I'm gonna press onward through the heat and get to my scrappy desk though. But I first wanted to hop online and share a card I made yesterday. A very special person in my life just bought their first home and I wanted to send them some goodies along with a card. It needed to be a masculine looking card, so I used some colors that are not my norm, but I think he'll like it.

"Welcome Home" Card

Supplies Used
Cardstock: The Paper Studio, Core'dinations
Patterned Paper: Crate Paper
Pearls: Queen & Co
Ink: ColorBox (Clearsnap)
Electronic Cutter: Cricut Expression (Provo Craft)
Software: Sure Cuts A Lot (Craft Edge)
SVG: SVG Cuts
Adhesive: Helmar

For this card, I used the 'Cozy Home' freebie from SVGCuts.com. You can find that HERE if you are interested. It's an older freebie and I have had it for quite some time. I'm glad I was finally able to use it!
I used Zap Dots to pop up a few of the layers to add extra dimension.
Thanks for dropping by today! Have a wonderful afternoon!

We Belong Together

Hey y'all! Happy Sunday! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend! I must tell you, I discovered the CUTEST site this week for svg's called Lettering Delights! Now, I'm sure it's not a new site, but it's new to me and I fell in love! They have some of the most darling files! I already scooped up several sets and I had to start playing right away! For my first project, I used their 'Stuck on You' set which you can find HERE if you are interested in sneaking a peek. Aren't they so cute?! They made me giggle the first moment I saw them and I am still giggling! LOL! I used my SCAL software to make a few of the files into a shaped card. I am thinking that one of these put in my nephew's lunchbox on the first day of school this coming year would be so cute. He is going into 1st grade so I think I can still get away with the cuteness factor of this one. I just think it would help make him smile on that nervous first day.

"We Belong Together" Card

Supplies Used
Cardstock: The Paper Studio, Die Cuts With A View, Bazzill Basics Paper, Sassafras
Pen: Marvy Uchida
Electronic Cutting Machine: Cricut Expression (Provo Craft)
Software: Sure Cuts A Lot (Craft Edge)
SVG's: Lettering Delights
Adhesive: Helmar, ZIG Memory System
Even my husband, Brandon, got the biggest chuckle out of this card! He said, 'now that is the cutest card you've ever made!' Now, I don't know about all that, but I am glad he liked it!
If you are a lover of SVG's like me and haven't checked out Lettering Delights, I would highly recommend it! These files were easy to cut and very affordable! I know I'll be back to purchase more!

As always, thanks for visiting my blog! Have a wonderful rest of your weekend and a marvelous upcoming week! Happy Scrappin'!!!

Just Beclaws

Hey y'all! TGIF! So happy it's Friday! I have a little card I'd like to share with you. I made this card for the current challenge over at 'My Craft Spot'. This challenge is called 'Ink It Up.' The only specs of the challenge are that you use ink on your project. I used red ink to distress the edges of my card. I also used brown ink on the back of the card to stamp my sentiment. Here is my window card...

"Just Beclaws"

Supplies Used
Cardstock: The Paper Studio, Core'dinations
Patterned Paper: Lily Bee Design
Rhinestones: Queen & Co
Glitter Glue: Stickles (Ranger Industries), Fruit Punch
Ink: ColorBox (Clearsnap), Stampin' Up!
Stamp: Studio G
Circle Cutter: Creative Memories
Electronic Cutting Machine: Cricut Expression (Provo Craft)
Cartridges: Cuttin' Up, Create A Critter, Gypsy Wanderings
Software: Cricut Gypsy (Provo Craft)
Adhesive: Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive Runner, Helmar Zap Dots, ZIG Glue Pen
I just love this little crab from Create A Critter. He's so cute you just want to pinch his cheeks. Wait...does a crab have cheeks? LOL. I cut out the crab with some embossed Core'dinations cardstock. The red ink I used to distress the edges of my card is a shade called 'Red Lipstick.'
For the back of my card, I stamped my sentiment and also added my personalized stamp. I inked up the edges of the back of the card as well.
I used Zap Dots to add a bit of dimension by popping my crab up a bit.
If you'd like to play along in this challenge, go HERE.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I hope you have a marvelous weekend!
God Bless & Happy Scrappin'!!!

What's Cookin', Good Lookin'?!!!

Hey everyone! Happy Friday to ya! I hope you are having a fabulous day! I have been working on recipe cards this week for a recipe swap I'm in. I finally finished those up this morning. I never thought it would take me all week to finish 4 sets of recipe cards. I am really glad to be done. It was a labor of love, but I'm ready to make some layouts or cards or something. LOL. I shared my first recipe card earlier in the week. It can be found 2 posts below this one if you want to see that. Here are the other 3 sets...

"Sweet Chicken Bacon Wraps" Recipe Card

Supplies Used
Cardstock, Patterned Paper, Brads: The Paper Studio
Felt Trim: Michael's
Adhesive: Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive Runner, Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive
Recipe: Paula Deen

This is one of my family's favorite recipes that I make. I saw it on Paula Deen's cooking show a few years ago and have been making it ever since. It is heavenly! Perfect for dinner or a party! We love 'em! Since this is more of a summer type of recipe (although I am guilty of making it all year long), I decided to use some Hawaiian themed papers on this one.
I got this trim in the $1 bin at Michael's a few years ago. What a deal! I got blue, pink, purple, and yellow. I wish I would of gotten the green too! LOL
"Thanksgiving Chocolate Pecan Pie" Recipe Card

Supplies Used
Cardstock: The Paper Studio, Sassafras
Patterned Paper: The Paper Studio, Die Cuts With A View
Transparency: McGraw
Rhinestones: Queen & Co
Stamp: Peachy Keen
Ink: ColorBox (Clearsnap)
Electronic Cutter: Cricut (Provo Craft)
Electronic Cutter Software: Sure Cuts A Lot (Craft Edge)
SVG's: Treasure Box Designs
Font: Allison's Hand
Embossing Machine, Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug (Provo Craft), Swiss Dots
Adhesive: Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive Runner, Helmar Zap Dots, ZIG Glue Pen
Recipe: Gina & Pat Neely

This recipe is one that I have had in my recipe stash for a while now, but I haven't had the opportunity to make it yet. But I plan on making this as soon as we have another family get together. I saw it on The Neely's cooking show on Food Network and it looked all southern, all delicious! I can't wait to try it! And it looks really easy!
Isn't this turkey a hoot? He (and the pie) are files from Treasure Box Designs. He is sitting in a little cooking pot holding up a sign that says 'eat pie!' I printed the 'eat pie' out onto transparency sheets since I was out of vellum and then I adhered it onto the sign. I popped him and the pie up with some Zap Dots. This turkey gave me and the hubby the giggles! LOL!
 "Cajun Chicken Pasta" Recipe Card

Supplies Used
Cardstock: The Paper Studio, Core'dinations
Patterned Paper, Artisan Tape: Pink Paislee
Flowers: Imaginisce
Rhinestones: Queen & Co
Buttons: The Paper Studio
Corner/Border Punch: Martha Stewart Crafts
Adhesive: Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive Runner, homemade glue dots

This recipe is another hit in my family. Each time I make it, everyone raves about it. Now it is not something you would want to make often if you are watching the waistline, but it is a real treat when you want to spoil yourself. It does have a spicy quality to it, but you can cut back on the Cajun seasoning if you don't like too much heat. My hubby and I like a lot of heat, but when I make this for my parents, I cut back on the heat since they are not as crazy about spicy. But it is fabulous either way. This with a nice salad and some bread makes a fancy, wonderful meal!
The hounds tooth check is Artisan tape from Pink Paislee.
And there are my recipe cards. I gotta get 'em bagged up and ready to send out. If any of you would like any of the recipes I've mentioned on my blog today or from earlier in the week, shoot me an email at aymee810@yahoo.com and I'll be more than happy to share with you.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I hope you have a fabulous day!
I'm off to make some cards! Yippee! See you soon!

Squealing With Glee!! Looky What Mr. UPS Just Brought Me!!!

Hey Guys! Happy Thursday to you! I just HAD to hop online and share something! I was sitting at my desk finishing up my recipe cards for a swap I'm in when the UPS man knocked on my door. Well, I was thinking it was my goodies I ordered with my Cricut Reward Points, but no no, the box was way too big! So I look on the label and it says 'Edwards Chevrolet' on it. My husband was like, what on earth did you order from there? I was like, I didn't order anything...promise! LOL.

Well it suddenly dawned on me...my good friend Sheila works at a car dealership I think! I was right!!!! As you may remember, I helped Sheila jazz up her bog "She's A Sassylady" last week. Well I want you to look what that sweet woman sent me!!! It's a new PINK handbag!!! Ahhhh! Ok, if you know me, you know anything pink and my heart squeals with delight! LOL! Isn't this the CUTEST?!!!!!
And to make it doubly cute, she had my name monogrammed on it! Ok y'all, I monogram everything! Either my name, my 'belle' nickname, or our initials are on everything we have! We are just big on putting our mark on stuff! How did Sheila know?!!!
AND it came with a coordinating make up bag! Ahhhh!!!!!
Y'all I am just about too excited for my own good! I almost cried when I read her BEAUTIFUL card and opened the gift! Now, how SWEET was that for her to do?!! Thank you SOOOOOO much Sheila! I am so appreciative of such a thoughtful gift and will put it to use right away! It's absolutely perfect! However, I won't share the card as I know Sheila will want to share that on her blog later. Man, am I blessed with the most wonderful friends or what?! Thank you Sheila! BIG hugs!

Ok, back to scrapping if I can contain my excitement! Tee Hee!

Welcome To The Cocoa Cafe

Hey y'all! Happy Tuesday to ya! How is your week going? Mine is going pretty good so far. I hope all of you are enjoying your summer!

I am currently participating in a recipe swap and wanted to share my first recipe card set with you guys. This first recipe card set is way more intricate than my other 3 sets will be. I am working on those today, but I just had to go ahead and get this first one up because I haven't blogged in a few days. I spent 2 full days working on this first set. I have to make 12 of each card for the swap, so 12 of these bad boys. The main thing that took a lot of time was all the cutting and paper piecing. My Cricut and SCAL software definitely got a major workout! But it was so fun!

This is a 2 sided recipe card. One side has a cute little 'cocoa cafe' and the recipe (which is for hot chocolate jars) is on the opposite side. For the 'cocoa cafe,' I used the cutest set of files from Treasure Box Designs. You can find that HERE if you'd like. You'll have to scroll down a bit to see.

"Cocoa Cafe" Recipe Cards

Supplies Used
Cardstock: The Paper Studio, Core'dinations
Photo Paper: HP
Patterned Paper: The Paper Studio
Brads: The Paper Studio, American Crafts
Lace: JoAnn
Tab Punch: McGill
Pen: Stampin' Up!
Laminator, Laminating Pockets: Purple Cows
Electronic Cutter: Cricut (Provo Craft)
Software: Sure Cuts A Lot (Craft Edge)
SVG's: Treasure Box Designs
Font: Mr. & Mrs. Popsicle
Recipe: Sandra Lee (Food Network)
I popped up the little trees and the overhang on the window using Zap Dots.
 Dimension...
This is the back of the recipe card. I used my laminator to laminate the recipe and the little picture that will pull out from behind the recipe. This ensures that it will slide out smoothly.
I added adhesive to the bottom part of the back of the recipe card so that it won't slide down and behind the recipe. It will only slide behind there just a tad.
Here is a picture of what the recipe could look like once fixed up. I thought these would make wonderful holiday gifts. I can't wait to make some of these in December! I thought that the girls would enjoy the picture so that they could have a visual.
 Up close of recipe...
Ok, off to work on the next recipe card sets! Fun! I hope y'all like this one! It was so fun to make! So glad I got to use up those svg files! I've had them for some time and haven't got to use them. :)

Thanks for dropping in today! Enjoy your day!
Happy Scrappin'!
