Creatin' Cards

Hey guys! Happy Tuesday! I don't know about yall, but I am freezing this morning! It is so cold!!! Brrr!!! Mom had a conference to go to today, so I am here taking care of Daddy. He seems to be having a pretty good day so far!!! I am so glad! He is taking a nap now, so I thought I would take a minute to post some of the cards I created while scrappin' with Mom this past weekend. I hope you will be able to see these good. I did not bring my camera with me to Bama, so I had to borrow Mom's. I wanted to go outside to take pix, but it is rainy.

First up, I received the pattern for this bunny card from My Scrap Chick. It is their freebie pattern from last week. If you have a die cutting machine and would like this file, go here:

http://www.myscrapchick.com/freebiefriday.htm

If you do not have a die cutting machine, but would still like to give this card a go...no problem!!! Fortunately, included with the download is an Adobe document. You could print out the template and hand cut it on your own!!! How awesome is that! This was such a fun card to do and I hope yall will give it a try. If you happen to stumble across this post and the pattern is no longer available on the link above (they do a new one each week), email me at aymee810@yahoo.com and I can pass it a long for ya. It is a free pattern.

I love the way this one opens up. I used some Colorbox chalk ink in 'Rouge' and 'Light Brown' to ink my bunny. I drew on his whiskers and eyes with a black journaling pen. On the back, I used the Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirl embossing folder on his tail. I used pop dots on the tail to pop it out a tad. On the inside, I used some Stampin' Up Easter stamps and some bling. Here is the card:

The card opened up:
Isn't the back so cute? I just love the tail!!!
Second, I did a really simple, clean card. I used the Cricut Home Accents cart for the flower and Mini Monograms for the sentiment. I also used the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.

Third, I made this card using some scraps. The bunny is from "A Child's Year" and the scalloped square is from Mini Monograms. The stamp is from Stampabilities. I added a pink puff from some ball fringe for a tail.
Last, I really have been wanting to do a red/lime green/black/white combo colored card. So I dug in Mom's stamp bin and found this cherry stamp. I love cherries! I added in some gingham ribbon and black bling. The border punch is from Martha Stewart.

I was so glad to finish these four cards!!! It is great to be back to scrappin'! I plan on doing some more scrappin' today! Whoo hoo!
I am off to try and post Mom's cards that she finished on her blog. So if you want to, check it out in a bit...
Thank you for stoppin' by today! Have a wonderful day and Happy Scrappin'!

Cottage Cuts Card

Hey guys! Happy Thursday! First, I would like to ask you for a favor. My father is having surgery today and if you could say a prayer for him, I would sure appreciate it!!! Thank you!!!!

Now, I wanted to share with you a simple little card I made for The Cuttlebug Spot. At CBS, we feature dies from The Scrapping Cottage called 'Cottage Cuts.' They are wonderful dies that you can use with your Cuttlebug. I was given the 'Freddie Fish' and 'Frannie Fish' to create a project with. My FIL's bday is coming up, so I decided to make this card for him. I also incorporated the Swiss Dots, D'Vine Swirl, and Tiny Bubbles embossing folder. I cut the medallion and 'happy birthday' with my Cricut. This card was tougher for me since it was for a man. Yall know me, I am so girly. It was all I could do not too add ribbon, trim, etc. to this! LOL. But I refrained and I sure hope my FIL will like this one.

The sun is from 'Doodlecharms' and the clouds are from 'Home Accents.'

I cut the 'Happy Birthday' using my SCAL software. This font is called Mr. & Mrs. Popsicle. I love this font! If you would like to download this font to cut with your Cricut/SCAL software, go here:

http://www.kevinandamanda.com/fonts/

So many awesome fonts on this site!

That is all from me today. I hope you all have a wonderful day! I will keep you updated about my Dad as well!

Happy Scrappin'!

Altered Picture Frame

Mornin' Yall! I hope you are having a wonderful Monday morning so far. We have a new challenge for ya today at The Cuttlebug Spot. This week we are altering picture frames. If you would like to see all of the other dt's frames and play along, here is the link for ya:

http://thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/

I decided to make my frame for the top of my scrappy desk. I am always needing some place to write down all the things I need to get done each day/week. So I decided that my frame would act as a 'dry erase' board. I need to go and purchase a brown dry erase marker. I tried to write on it with a colored dry erase marker and it was hard to see due to the pattern in the background. So yall will have to visualize my to do's written down on this. Once I have done what needs to be done, all I will have to do is wipe gently over the glass with a damp towel and I can start again. I love this idea because not only is it pretty sitting on my desk, but it also saves paper!!! Yay! I found a old frame I had lying around the house and covered it with paper and embellishments. I cut the scalloped frame that you see out using my Cricut and SCAL (sure cuts a lot) software. If you would like this svg to use with your own SCAL, drop me an email at aymee810@yahoo.com and I can email it to ya! :) I used the Swiss Dots embossing folder and the butterfly die/embossing combo on this project. I also brought in some crate paper ribbon, grosgrain ribbon, stitching, bling, and some buttons. Here is my frame:

Close up of some of the embellishment. These alphas are Making Memories Tiny Alpha's.

I can't wait to start writing on this and using it on a daily basis! If you have a frame around your house that needs some sprucing up, please do so and share it with us at The Cuttlebug Spot! We'd love to see!

That is all for me today! I wanted to say too that I will be MIA for a few days. I will be flying home to Alabama tomorrow to be with my family for a bit. My Daddy is having surgery and I want to be there. So if you have a moment, please say a prayer for my Daddy that his surgery will go ok. I would appreciate it so much!! Thanks!

Have a fabulous day and Happy Scrappin'! See ya soon!

Scrapbook Circle Reveals

Hey guys! Happy Wednesday! I am snowed in!!!! It is just such a mess outside! I've never seen so much snow!!! I hope it melts quick, but I doubt it. I had to go and pick up Brandon at 1am this morning and it was so rough! I have never really had to drive in snow and was so scared! You couldn't even see the road on the interstate. I did not like it at all! LOL. Anyways, I have some layouts that I've been working on over the past few days that I wanted to share with you. I've been working with the February kit from Scrapbook Circle.

"Learning To Wave"
This layout is of my Daddy and Carter at the Memphis Zoo a few years ago. Carter was just learning to move his fingers/hands in order to wave. It was so cute. I'm so glad my Mom caught this in a picture. I cut the shaped paper using my SCAL (sure cuts a lot) and Cricut Expression. I cut the circles with Plantin' Schoolbook and embossed using my Cuttlebug and Sizzix texture plates. I stitched around the circles with my sewing machine. I cut the strip of the ruler from the Cosmo Cricket paper in the kit and pleated it. I stitched the pleats closed.

I love this picture!!! Those little fingers were so cute! He is so big now and I sometimes miss these days!

The alphas are Cosmo Cricket and Jillibean.

To show dimension of the pleats...

"Sunkissed"
This is another layout of Carter. This was during his first trip to the beach. I used my SCAL and Cricut to cut the shaped paper on this one as well. Everything is pulled from the kit except the alpha's. They are some Chatterbox that I have had for quite a while. I'm glad I was able to use them.

I love the buttons, rhinestones, and labels in this kit.

Cluster of buttons/rhinestones...

"{grand}ma"
This page is of my mother and Carter. She is such a wonderful grandmother and I know Carter will always remember that. The journaling reads: "There's a reason why we call them 'grand'ma!!!" Everything is from the kit with the exception of the alphas and the twine. I used a Fiskars border punch (Threading Water) and used the holes to lace up the twine.

I also really like the metal clips that came with this kit.

To show some of the dimension...

Also, yall have GOT to see this boardbook that my Mom just finished up. It is just about the cutest little thing I have ever seen! She really has such a talent for these boardbooks. You can tell how much hard work and effort that goes into them. All of her details are just amazing! Check it out and leave her some luv if ya want....

Thanks you for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful day! Try to stay warm...if you are cold like me! LOL. Maybe with this being snowed in, I can get some more scrappy stuff finished. :)

Happy Scrappin'!

You've Got Mail!!!

Mornin'! I hope all of you are enjoying a wonderful Monday so far! We have another new challenge for ya at The Cuttlebug Spot. This week we are decorating mailboxes. You can find these little tin mailboxes at The Dollar Spot when you walk in Target, at many craft stores, or online. I found my mailbox at Target. They had white, pink, and red. I chose to purchase one in my favorite color...pink!!!! I decorated my mailbox with K & Co. Kazoo paper. I just am so in love with this little robot paper! It is too darn cute!!! I also brought in some of the matching chipboard, pom pom trim (ball fringe), pearl trim, and ribbon. I used a Martha Stewart border punch near the bottom of the mailbox. I also cut a little 'ticket' out of some Teresa Collins patterned paper. I embossed the blue stripe paper with the Swiss Dots embossing folder. Here is my mailbox for this week's challenge:

"Love Bytes"

Isn't the glittered chipboard that matches this paper so cute?!!!

Be sure to hop on over to The Cuttlebug Spot to see the other DT's fabulous mailboxes and join in on this challenge!!! Here is the link for ya:

Hello Sunshine!!!

Mornin' yall! I hope you are enjoying a happy Thursday! I made a card last night for a blog post I had to do for Scrapbook Circle (SBC) and I wanted to share it with ya. I challenged the girls over there to research in the gallery or blog and find something to either lift or make their own. I decided to take on my own challenge because I seriously need to finish some cards. My personal card stash is running low and I want to build it back up. I always seem to need a card to send out. So I did a little researching on the SBC blog and found a 'tip of the day' from May 2009 posted by Diana. She created the cutest little card and showed how to do some paper curling. So I decided to give it a go. I chose to lift her design on the card. I used some leftover paper from the February SBC kit. I cut my cloud out from the Home Accents cart. The alpha's are Kaisercraft. I also used my Cuttlebug and Sizzix texture plate for the background.

Love the dimension from the paper curling...

If you are looking for a challenge to get ya scrappin', why not come over to SBC and play with us??!!! We'd love to see what you can create! Here is a direct link to the challenge if you are interested:
Thanks for stoppin' in today! I hope you all have a wonderful day and Happy Scrappin'!!!

SBC Reveal

Hey guys! Happy Wednesday! I can't believe it's midweek already!!! I have some new stuff to share with ya today. I have been working with my kit from Scrapbook Circle (SBC) and LOVE it!!! So much yummy stuff in there! Check it out if ya want:

http://www.scrapbookcircle.com/

Lots of Cosmo Cricket goodies too! I can't wait to play some more! But first, I wanted to share with you the layout I completed. This layout is a different look for me, or at least I thought so. I don't' use these colors together too often. I love them individually, but just don't use them together. I especially am not used to using so much green, but I wanted to challenge myself to use more green and am so glad I did! I am now in a total 'green' mood! I also am not a big 'star' person, so that was a challenge, but I am now lovin' it too!! I started with some green Coredinations cardstock. I love this cardstock! The texture is great! The shaped paper is from Jenni Bowlin. I knew I wanted to journal on it. I layered some patterned paper, felt, and some of the cutest ribbon. In our kit, we were given the cutest apron from Making Memories. Well, it was folded up and tied with this green ribbon that says Making Memories on it. Well, I thought I might as well scrap with it. If one was not a scrapper, I don't think they would even know that the ribbon stood for a brand. I assumed they would think it was about 'making memories.' LOL. I hope that is what they will see at least. I also used a new Cuttlebug folder I got called Stars. I inked up the paper with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in peeled paint. The alphas are a combo of Jillibean and Pink Paislee. I also stitched around the shaped paper. This is one of my favorite photos of Carter. He was just the cutest little thing! It really shows off his big eyes and precious expressions. Love it! Here is the page....

"Bright Eyes"

I created this card using some of the Jan. SBC kit. There is some awesome Valentine's paper/embellishment included with the kit. Be sure too to check out the SBC blog for not one, not two, but SEVEN chances to win a kit!!!!!!

I created another easel card. I hope yall are not getting tired of these. I just love them so much!!! I also did this for a challenge on Treasured Scrapbooking. Eva challenged us to make an easel card, so that is another excuse why I did another one! LOL. Here is the card:

That is all from me today. I want to thank you for stopping by! I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week and Happy Scrappin'! Take care!

Altered Picture Frame

Hey guys! I hope you are having a wonderful Monday so far! We have another challenge for ya this week at The Cuttlebug Spot. This week we are working with Post-It brand craft paper. It is the neatest stuff! It has adhesive on the back. You can cut it with your Cricut, emboss it, etc. Way cool! For my project, I altered a frame I picked up at the dollar store for $5!!! Can't beat that! It is a glass frame and has hearts and cute sayings all over the front in silver. I cut the cupid out of the Post-It craft paper using my SCAL software. I then embossed it using the 'Floral Fantasy' embossing folder. I decided to adhere this to the front of my frame. It makes it look like the cupid is popping out of the frame. I then cut the letter 'G' (for the first letter of my last name) out using SCAL. This font is called 'Brock Script.' I then cut out our last name, 'Gandy,' out using SCAL. This font is Times New Roman. I embossed the word 'Gandy' with the 'Swiss Dots' embossing folder. I added all of these elements to some red Coredinations cardstock and slid it where the picture would normally go in the frame. I also added some black trim to the back. I got this idea from my Mom. She has been doing the cutest frames for some of her fellow teachers and I knew I wanted to try it as well. I am going to set this in our living room during the Valentine's Day holiday. Here it is:
(I hope you can tell a little about this project...had to take the pic inside due to this weather and yall know how that goes.)

If you can, do visit 'The Cuttlebug Spot' to check out the other DT's projects and join in for the challenge. You can also leave a comment to be entered in the prize drawing for the week! Whoo hoo!!!
