This is long overdue. Supposed to get this done after I got back from Dubai. One word - Lazy! Been like that during my pregnancy, just wanted to lie around, being a couch potato, doing nothing.
What I can remember about Dubai:
What I can remember about Dubai:
- I had an aching flight to and fro. I got backache and my legs were aching too due to sitting too long in the plane. I also had 'salah urat' (not sure how to say it in English) on my right leg on 1st day of Dubai.
- We (myself & RedOpium) nearly did not get a room in the hotel. All because of Zuji, they didn't make a hotel reservation under our name. I was stressed, not sure about RedOpium. But imagined after 7 hours of flight, all you want to do is snooze.. Time difference between Singapore and Dubai - it is 4 hours earlier there. After several attempts to raise my voice at the Zuji customer service officer, we got ourselves a room. RedOpium said never again we gonna book our trip at Zuji.com.sg.
- I was pregnant about 5 months, carrying Shahid. It was our first and last trip with him.
- Dubai is expensive. Thought I can survive that 5 days with 800SGD but I was super wrong. It is a shopper paradise but pricing wise, it is about the same what you get in Singapore.
- Having said that it is expensive, I liked Dubai because it is a Middle East country and because of that there are halal food everywhere. From the Carl's Junior to Subway to New York Fries - it's halal!! In Singapore, we has to register for a halal certificate. In Dubai, they have to produce certificate if they were to sell alcohol or pork. Cool huh? Also there malls have prayer rooms which is like a hall and every time when there is a call of prayer, it will be played on there speakers around the mall and the shops have to tone down their music. RedOpium really liked the prayer hall especially the prayer mats or carpet they have, he said when he sujud, the carpet was soft that it was comfortable for his head.
- I am under the impression that the locals or Emiratis are very rich. Why do I say that. Because everywhere I go I see foreigners, when we take the public transport like the metro (same like MRT) we see a lot of foreigners but not the locals. They will either have cars or call for taxis. I will only see them in the shopping malls.. Hmm..Good life..
