Mother's Day!

Wow, the month of May is almost over! We had a fun Mother's Day afternoon with the Farmor and Farfar, Rik, Jenny, and the boys! Christel made some delicious food as always. (I know I always say this, but if you haven't ever eaten anything she has made you are TOTALLY missing out!) After our tummies were full the kids played with some fun toys from Farmor! Then they got to go "swimming" in the hot tub! The weather was so perfect as was the company! (But we sure did miss the other brothers and their families!)

Brynn was content just pushing the little chair around while we enjoyed the yummy food!

Jenny showing the kids her awesome moves with the hulu hoops!

I love the bright colors!

Enjoying some good ole' messy cheetos!

I got to hang out with this little cutie!

May 2009

  • Kajsa saw a commercial for a water gun and she was telling me she wanted one. She was telling me about how is worked and that she squirt it in your brother's face. I said to her, "But you don't have any brothers." She responded with, "But I have friend brothers." I asked, "Who are your friend brothers?" She said, "Jack and Luke are my friend brothers." (Jack and Luke are my friends' boys and we usually only see them at church functions. I am glad that she can call them her friend brothers though!)
  • "Now that's how you do it." -Kajsa

6 years...

Simon and I have been married 6 years! WOW! We didn't do anything too special for our anniversary because it was our Young Women girls camp fundraiser dinner on Friday night. How romantic!?!?! We did go out for lunch today and ran some errands all by ourselves! That sure doesn't happen very often! On Friday morning Simon told Kajsa that it was our anniversary and he explained it to her as our "family's birthday". (Since Kajsa is so into birthdays) What better way to explain it! It is the day we started our family! I am grateful for all that Simon does for our family and for working so hard so that I can stay home to be with our two beautiful daughters! We have made so many wonderful memories and I can't wait to make many more!

A friend of mine did this little questionnaire and posted it for their anniversary. I thought it was fun and so here are our answers!

Sara's answers for Simon:

1. He's sitting in front of the TV, what is on the screen? Soccer or hockey game

2. You're out to eat what kind of dressing does he get on his salad? Ranch

3. What's one food he doesn't like? Hmmm...I can't think of one! He eats pretty much anything!

4. You go out to eat and have a drink. What does he order? Usually water, but sometimes some kind of fruity lemonade. (We are so exciting!)

5. Where did he go to high school? Jordan High School

6. What size shoe does he wear? 9

7. If he was to collect anything, what would it be? He used to have a small collection of backpacks and hiking gear. He would collect all types of gadgets if they weren't so expensive.

8. What is his favorite type of sandwich? Anything

9. What would this person eat every day if he could? Ice cream and yogurt

10. What is his favorite cereal? Whatever is in the cupboard.

11. What would he NEVER wear? A University of Utah anything!

12. What is his favorite sports team? BYU college sports & Sweden Soccer & Hockey

13. Who is his best friend? ME!!!

14. What is something you do that he wished you wouldn't do? I have to have the dishes done before bed. Doesn't always get done and usually drives me crazy until they are done! (getting better at not caring as much.)

15. What is his heritage? 100% Swedish

16. You bake him a cake for his birthday; what kind of cake? Anything with berries on it, with some ice cream on the side or Swedish Princesstårta.

17. Did he play sports in high school? Lacrosse

18. What could be spend hours doing? Play soccer

19. What is one unique talent he has? He has the most patience of anyone I know!

Simon's rebuttal: If I could have any cereal it would be corn flakes with a fruit mussli and a good Swedish yogurt on top. I am not a fan of your growl you make when you get frustrated!

Simon's answers for Sara:

1. She's sitting in front of the TV, what is on the screen? Ellen

2. You're out to eat; what kind of dressing does she get on her salad? Ranch

3. What's one food she doesn't like? Mushrooms because of the texture.

4. You go out to eat and have a drink. What does she order? Water

5. Where did she go to high school? Burley

6. What size shoe does she wear? 7.5

7. If she was to collect anything, what would it be? Recipes

8. What is her favorite type of sandwich? I don't think she has one.

9. What would this person eat everyday if she could? Chocolate covered cinnamon bears

10. What is her favorite cereal? Honey Bunches of Oats

11. What would she never wear? Spandex

12. What is her favorite sports team? BYU

13. Who is her best friend? Me of course!

14. What is something you do that she wished you wouldn't do? Play soccer

15. What is her heritage? Welsh, Scottish, English, and Idahoan

16. You bake her a cake for her birthday; what kind of cake? Funfetti white cake or Princesstårta

17. Did she play sports in high school? Basketball (Jr. High) She played "Student Body Officer"

18. What could she spend hours doing? Relaxing

19. What is one unique talent she has? Making yummy treats!

Sara's rebuttal: I am sad he brought up the chocolate covered cinnamon bears because I ate the last of them last night! For the record, I don't mind at all that Simon plays soccer, I just wish it wasn't always on Saturdays because that is the day he is home. But in his defense, they do play early on Saturday mornings so he is home for the rest of the day! I just had to laugh at Idahoan being part of my heritage. He must be a city kid! (But, we are both beetdiggers! I was a true beetdigger and he was a Jordan High School beetdigger
!)
