Spring is here!

Well, at least I think so. We had snow a couple weeks ago and our trees seemed like they were never going to start budding. But now the tulips are in their full bloom and finally the trees look like they might be green this year! Spring is my favorite time of year. The tulips, the fresh crisp warmer air, green grass, and letting the girls run around outside! Can't get better than that! (except that maybe if the tulips would stay around the whole summer!)

Easter Sunday...It looks like Kajsa is crying, but I think she might have allergies. Her eyes and nose were running all day.

Every Spring since we have lived in our house we see two ducks around the neighborhood. Here is one of them.

Our first day out to get some yardwork done. Kajsa was very helpful with picking the dandelions and added some grape hyacinths to her beautiful bouquet.

The ducks hanging out in the backyard!

Beautiful tulips! Kajsa added the grape hyacinths! Maybe someday she will be a flower arranger!

Brynn kept wanting Simon, so we got the hiking backpack out. She liked it until the lawnmower started and the ride got too bumpy.

Two of my most favorite things!

Temple Square Visit

What is spring without a visit to beautiful temple square? We made a visit last week and invited Aunt Lisa to meet us there. Kajsa wanted to see the statue of Christ and of course the temple. The weather was nice and the flowers as beautiful as ever!

We took lots of pictures, but didn't get very many good ones. Brynn was just not in the mood!

Kajsa in mid-jump!

Fun times with family

We have had family visit a few times this past month. It has been so fun to play! Tom, Melanie, and the kids came and stayed for a few days. They are so wild and crazy together and Kajsa sure missed them when they left.

The four little rascals! We thought we would line them up for a cousin picture in order of their age! We always did it with our cousins every time we got together! (Hopefully they won't get too sick of it like I did when I was younger! haha!) Funny thing is that they their ages are 4, 3, 2, 1! These 4 cousins are right in the middle of David and Sherrie's kids, so we need to get creative and super-impose the three oldest in front and Campbell at the end! Then we will have the whole B&V cousin clan!

Uncle Scott and Brynn

These 4 taking a little rest on Scott. I have pictures of something like this from other times. What are we going to do with Uncle Scott living so far away now! :(

The girls and I took a little visit to Aunt Lisa's tall building! Kajsa enjoyed going up and down in the elevator (alligator is what she kept calling it!) She also like seeing the earth on the ceiling in the board room!

I love when Kajsa tries to be helpful! It didn't take her long before she gave up on putting socks on Brynn.

Grandma and Poppy came to visit this past weekend and to go to Scott & Megan's college graduation! This is the best picture of all three. I don't have too many pictures of both girls with decent smiles! I guess only Poppy can get them to smile like this!

"Uncle" Paul, Simon's good friend, came to Utah and stayed with us too. I didn't get any pictures, but Kajsa shed a few tears when he left. I guess we will have to make a road trip to California to visit him and his family now!

April 2009

  • Simon was taking an afternoon shower and Kajsa asked me, "Why is Pappa taking a shower?" I responded saying, "Because he didn't take a shower this morning, so he is taking one now. He is a silly boy!" Kajsa said, "Mamma don't say that. He is a HANDSOME, silly boy." Yes, I did leave out that word. Thanks Kajsa! :)
  • Kajsa was going potty and Brynn was keeping her company. I was in my bedroom and asked Kajsa what Brynn was doing. She said, "I can't talk to you right now!" I asked why and she responded, "The word is missing." She couldn't think of the right word for what Brynn was doing which by the way she was tearing off tiny pieces of toilet paper and making a mess!
  • I was playing around with Kajsa and tickling her, then she asked me, "Can you do a belly fart?" "WHAT? A belly fart?" She explained to me, "Like Pappa does to Brynn's belly when he changes her diaper." She meant doing a raspberry on her belly. (I don't know where she learned the word fart since we use the word 'toot' in our house!)
  • Kajsa saw a commercial where cows were being fed hay. She said, "We need to feed the cows when we are at Poppy's house." Simon said, "Okay." Then Kajsa asked, "Do cows eat grass too?" Simon responded, "Yes, they do. Then we eat the cows." Kajsa just laughed and said, "What?!?!" Then Simon said, "Cows are hamburgers." Kajsa just laughed and then had to tell me about it. I don't think she took Simon seriously and I hope that she doesn't think too much about it or we may never get her to eat meat again!
  • Random comment from Kajsa while in the car. "I am going to be a trucker. I am going to drive a truck!" (Earlier that day she said that girls can't be in trucks (pickups), so I explained to her that girls can ride and drive trucks)
