HELLO EVERYONE.
I haven't blogged since last year HAHA!
My life has been pretty interesting lately. Firstly I was asked to represent the faculty of science in the NUSSU Pageant, which is where one representative of each sex is is chosen to represent their faculty for the crowning of Mr and Miss NUS!
Was quite shocked and couldn't believe at first when I got the sms and was pretty hesitant to join! But after much consideration and encouragement from Marcus I decided to go for it, mainly because it'll be a pretty good experience. I mean, how many people can actually have the chance to take part in a pageant? Not many.
Although it takes up a lot of my time, the experience is pretty worthwhile so far I must say! And not to mention I've made some new friends heh :)
For the pageant I am sponsored for sets of clothing, 2 sets of formal wear and two sets of casual wear, of which one of each was used for a photoshoot and the other two are left to be worn on the actual day itself!
Clothing are sponsored by local blogshops like thetinselrack, summerrain, frockettes and laceandbuttons!! :)
Here's one of my photos from the photoshoot, outfit put together by lace and buttons! I really love the aztec design!

Also I like to especially mention that it's the FIRST TIME I was wearing a tube HAHAHA :) New experience! I never really wore a tube before because I have really broad shoulders which really doesn't look nice with tubes, and not to mention the awful tanlines from my running singlets urghhhhh. But I'm glad I decided to step out of my comfort zone and choose this outfit! Am really happy with the overall look :)
Anyway since it's my first time I hope you guys can support me in my pageant HAHA :)
Simply like the NUSSU Bash page here: https://www.facebook.com/nussubash2013
AND THEN like my photo here https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=441379942583003&set=a.441379879249676.103976.161749437212723&type=1&theater
Its just two clicks and will only take like 2 seconds :) It'll make a lot of difference to me :)
Also, one of the sponsors of the pageant is DOMINO'S PIZZA!
Domino's pizza is really good! I tried it once when Marcus got pizza delivered to our hall :) I especially love it because the crust is so thin and doesn't make you full from just one or two slices of pizza HAHA!
And here's how YOU can benefit from it too!
When you make an online order from Domino's, just quote my code 'BASH01' in order to enjoy a BUY-1-GET-1-FREE PROMOTION!!!!! Only for people who use my code :)
The offer is valid from 10th Jan to 25th Jan only so HURRY! Buy 1 get 1 free is a really good deal if you ask me :)
Also, if you order using the Domino's iphone app, you can also enjoy ONE FREE SIDE DISH!! Omg so many good deals :) I feel happy just sharing it with you guys HAHAHA. Isn't pizza like the best thing in the world?
Here's some photos from yesterday's tasting session with dominos! :)

JUST LOOK AT THE SPREAD HAHAHA. We were so happy :)

Look how happy Hwee Sheng is! HAHAHA

And more good-looking guys for you to feast your eyes on! All enjoying Domino's Pizza!!!!!! :)
(That's Kuang Wen in the centre btw, he's my pageant partner and he's really cute too! LIKE HIS PHOTO here: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=441380039249660&set=a.441379879249676.103976.161749437212723&type=3&theater )
Btw Domino's doesn't only serve pizza but dessert too! I ESPECIALLY LOVE THE CHOCOLATE LAVA CAKE!!!!!!!!!! It's soooo nice and yummy! The chocolate is all creamy and melty and goes really well with the sponge cake :) Highly recommended if you are a chocolate lover like me!! :)
ANDDDDDDDDDD you can get the chocolate lava cake FREE if you order using the iPhone app hehe :)
K I hope I've convinced you guys to try out domino's pizza if you haven't because it's really yummy and there's an awesome promotion going on now! Don't wait anymore :) Remember, my code is 'BASH01', enjoy your pizza guys :)
Sugar, you're making my head spin.
Hello! I'm gonna blog about my SHOPPING SPREES TODAY.
So my life after exams revolves mostly around eating, sleeping, shopping and training, apart from the less often more out of the ordinary outings like paintball to JB (in another post) so this post will be about shopping.
It seems as though everyone calls me out for shopping haha because everyone knows I shop like mad, and maybe that's the only thing they think i do :(
Anyway!
#1: Shopping Spree with Danielle
My lovely friend Danielle came back from Vancouver on the 15th and we've been planning to shop together since forever!!! We're the best shopping partners seriously, we're the perfect match because we're the same size, we have the same taste and we even love the same brands and FOOD hahaha! :)
So everytime we shop it's pretty fun!
Ever since after A levels our 'pattern' of shopping would be :
1) Eating lunch at Ding Tai Fung
2) Head to Topshop!
3) Head to Miss Selfridge!
4) Head to H&M!!!
5) Head home LOL
Lunch at DTF is always the same, we'd order fried rice with eggs, 10 pc xiao long bao and oriental wanton with chilli oil and vinegar.
This time was no different and omg soooooo good! :)

THIS ONE GOES WITH THE FRIED RICE REALLY WELL! MY FAV :)

And of course, xiao long bao.
Only 8 pieces left because me and nielles were so excited we started eating without taking photos ahaha.

I don't normally have the habit of taking pictures of food, Nielles took all these because she missed Singapore's food too much! Haha.
I always eat the same stuff at din tai fung (even without nielles) and I never ever get sick of it!
First stop: Miss Selfridge
Next we went to the newly renovated miss selfridge at wisma atria! Bought a top and skirt from there.
The thing about Miss Selfridge is they have very very few stocks, so sizes (especially the more popular sizes) run out really fast.

Nielles and I in the changing room with the clothes that we picked :) :)

And look at the walls of the changing room! So prettyyy
Second Stop: COTTON ON
Cotton on isn't really part of our routine shopping but nielles wanted to get some sleepwear!
Anyway Cotton on has a really huge sale now! It's MAD. Everything super cheap.
Nielles got a whole bag of stuff, 3 pants, panties and a top all for about 100 bucks only :O
Third stop: TOPSHOP ION
Oh I forgot to mention! Nielles and I initially planned to shop on wednesday, but we just had a random thought to change it to Tuesday instead because we really couldn't wait, and just so happens TOPSHOP HAD A SALE ON TUESDAY OMGGGGGGGG
I received the email and sms on tuesday morning and I was soooo excited!
It was as though they knew Nielles and I were hitting the shops HAHAHA.
Nielles and I are Topshop's biggest customers, and you'll see why.
Here's nielles with her shopping bags at topshop ion:

Two big bags worth of stuff.
She spent like more than $400 (after discount) omg

I on the other hand was pretty disappointed at the Ion outlet because there were far too many people and too few things to look at! Only got a dress and a top in the end
So we decided to head over to topshop at knightsbridge LOL
Fourth stop: Topshop Knightbridge
Come to think of it it's really crazy going to two different topshops at once!
It was much better at knightsbridge though, the queue for changing rooms was A LOT SHORTER, so much more stuff to look at because knightbridge's outlet is the biggest outlet :) :) I love it!
You'd think Nielles would have had enough of shopping (yes seriously $400 worth of stuff) BUT NO. THERE WAS MORE

Two more big bags to add to her collection HAHAHA

:) :) My favourite pic! Now my profile picture on facebook HAHA

And here's Chris with ALL OF OUR SHOPPING BAGS!
He was really sweet, carrying all of our shopping bags without having to ask and he even drove us back to Nielle's place after that :')
By then it was already 6pm and we were super tired. Headed back to Nielle's house where we had super scrumptious dinner. We ate until we couldn't move LOL.
Our initial plan was to watch Perks of being a Wallflower but we were so full of food and so tired from shopping we ended up sleeping on her bed hehe :)
And that sums up a wonderful day :)
Will blog about my shopping spree with Miro and Maureen in another post! :)
Sugar, you're making my head spin.
Have been neglecting this blog for the longest time ever and I can hardly believe if anyone even reads it anymore haha.
It seems pretty sad though, how we have all moved on with our lives and have forgotten about the little things that we used to do and so like, because "there just isn't time anymore".
So I went through my third major paper today and my fourth is next monday, which leaves me with a good margin of time to slack and blog, online shop yadda yadda :) am pretty happy because I've been sleeping past 3am the entire week just to catch up on my studies.
University certainly isn't a piece of cake, and the teachers who told me that A levels were probably the most difficult thing I would ever face was obviously lying.
Major exams in the uni is just like the A level peak period studying version -- just much less time and much more stress.
Pretty loving the way my life is now though, living in hall gives me time away from everything, time to be alone and time to be surrounded by my friends. Plus I have my bro Junyang to count on who just lives in the hall beside mine ;') so glad I met people I can mix with and count on in Pharmacy.
Have been doing so many things lately which are blog worthy (which also explains why I'm screwed for my papers -- because I have too much fun playing) but I haven't bothered about blogging for obvious reasons HAHAH.
Anyway most recently was Marcus' birthday. So I took him out for a japanese steamboat and shabu shabu buffet dinner at marina square :) My plan was actually to bring him to seoul garden at first because he loves to eat meat but the the branch at marina sq is under renovation and I was sooooo distraught when we arrived there and I found out about it only then, but thank god for plan B haha :) Anyway he enjoyed himself there too apparently so all's good.

My dress is from topshop and to be honest it's not as slutty as it looks haha. The fabric is just lined and it only appears this transluent under the flash sighhh. Couldn't wear anything else though cos I have limited dresses in hall and I didn't realize it'll look so bad under the flash until the photo was taken and it was too late by then HAHA.
After that I brought him to gardens by the bay, near marina bay sands.

My camera really sucks, need to get a new one real soon.
My initial plan was to bring him there before eating dinner so the beauty would be much more visible but haha marcus only got out of bed at 3pm and it was raining then too.
Throughout the entire time I was really nervous because I was afraid he wouldn't like what I planned out for his 21st and there was actually gonna be this other surprise back in hall where all his friends from JC were coming over to the hall at 10pm to surprise him with a cake -- a collaboration of his best friend's sk and my doing, and it was really hard to text sk in private without marcus looking.
So I got him back to his room at 1030 pm and the minute we stepped into his floor lobby it was so noisy because all his friends were camping DOWNSTAIRS and in another room near his and I was so afraid he would find out and he eventually suspected something sigh but it was a good surprise anyway cos he didn't expect all his friends from JC to come down all the way :)
Did the usual cake cutting and photo taking but no photos for this cos I used the polariod camera haha.
Also I bought these magic relightable candles from this joke shop, its like you blow them out but in 2 seconds they relight HAHAHAH :')
Marcus blew out the candles like 3 times or something before he finally just decided to use his fingers to extinguish them wth and it worked -_______-
I was so afraid he'd get burnt wth.
So yup that's about it

Happy 21st Marcus :)
You better do something real good for me on my birthday or I'll throw you out of the window.
Can't wait to start training again, stopped training for a little more than a week and all my muscles have reduced to fats :( it's so depressing I can't even.
[edit]
just read this article from thought catalog and i thought it was really good :)

Sugar, you're making my head spin.
I've kept this blog for years, and it's probably the only thing that hasn't been changed about me
So many things have been happening since June and things are moving so quickly that sometimes i just feel like stopping time and thinking about things for awhile.
And I've changed so drastically that I can hardly believe it. For the better and for the worse too.
Sometimes I wish I knew how things would be like now if I didn't make some of the decisions that I did that has changed so much about me.
I need to stop thinking so much.
I need.
Sugar, you're making my head spin.
Omg I haven't blogged in ages.
.
.
.
And i don't particularly care haha. Uni life is way to busy to keep up a blog anyway :(
Kinda sad though because this blog has been with me since forever, like from sec 1 till now.
Pharmacy's pretty alright I guess, other than the fact that my days are much more packed than other courses, and that I'm surrounded by people who seriously mug their asses off it's scary :(
Sometimes I wonder why I didn't take the easier path and go into arts. Like some of my arts friends in hall have a 3 day work week wtf, while I have to wake up at 8am every.single.day.
Hall life is pretty cool though, it's great to be staying with your friends and being able to have company all the while :) I love it that my best bro in pharmacy is staying in the hall right beside mine too! Makes things all the easier if I need help/need company for studying haha :)
On another note, I lost my phone.
It's quite sad how all my photos from taiwan are gone and I only managed to upload a few of them. There were some which I really liked :(
Not to mention, the painful process of getting hundreds of contacts back.
Back to studying. Or trying at least.
Sugar, you're making my head spin.
Actually intended to take a small short break from blogging but ended up procrastinating all my posts about Taiwan haha.
University is starting soon and I'm feeling pretty apprehensive. The amount of admin work that has to be done is so overwhelming and half the time I don't even know what's going on.
Other than that I've made many new friends in the camps which I've been going for (Which I've yet to blog too, haha) which is a good thing :)
Just wanted to blog about my outing with the church friends yesterday as a farewell for Nat who's going overseas on an exchange programme for a whopping six months.
Can't help thinking how much I'd be missing her at church together with Shaun, as well as how the hell one can survive overseas for six months without any parental guidance haha.
I'm so dependant, really gotta respect Nat for her courage and maturity sometimes.
Didn't really know what to get her so I just decided to go with the norm, just polaroids with an additional frame and a note attached from each of us behind it, clipped up with cute little pegs on a woollen string which is meant to be tied across her room to remind her of us while she is away hahaha.
Nat, trying on my ear cuffs which are horridly uncomfortable by the way.
Tim and I (L)
Ted-J had to leave early because he was representing his faculty in a race, while Keith pangseh-ed us much later to meet his friend to buy a Blackberry
So it was just left with Nat, I and Tim at coffee bean when suddenly Nat exclaimed that there was a H&M sale, after which we (both nat and I) made the immediate decision to head over there, leaving poor Tim with no choice hahahah.
Didn't manage to get anything in the end though, I hate how H&M is always so crowded and the queues to the changing rooms are insanely long. Just looking at the queue snaking out of the changing room makes me want to forget about my intended purchase altogether.
Which is a good thing, considering the hundreds I've spent in Topshop in just two days.
Ciao for now.
Sugar, you're making my head spin.
My holiday has been nothing less than awesome. Can't wait to start blogging about everything but I seriously hate blogging on the iPhone.
Anyway we were brought to the pearl factory and while we were on the bus the tour guide was giving a brief intro about the pearls in Taiwan. Apparently Taiwan is the only country in the world that cultures pearls in the mountain river (fresh water pearls) as compared to other cities in the world. So it's supposedly better yadda yadda.
(side tracking a little, my tour guide was describing pearls in chinese which is pronounced as zhen zhu, and was saying that zhen zhu is cultured in the deep sea. In my sleepy, concussed state of mind I was wondering why the hell they would rear 'real pigs' in the middle of the sea, and the image of pigs crowding an island and stranded in the middle of the sea came into mind lol. I told my bros this and they gave me the wtf-are-you-stupid-or-just-stupid look :( )
Anyway besides its aesthetic purpose in costume jewelry, pearls also have some sort of medicinal value. Basically they are grounded into pearl powder which can be
1) put in eye drops that will help stop eyesight deterioration
2) consumed orally to stop sore throats/ thyroid
3) put on wounds to stop bleeding
4) and girls y'all are gonna thank me for this: they can be added to royal jelly and applied onto your boobs to make them grow OMG
I have royal jelly at home! To all my guyfriends esp Bry and Ian who like to comment about my boob size, you better watch out
I'm kidding. I'm happy with my boob size. Really.
Anyway I couldn't consume the pearl powder because I'm g6pd deficient and we ended up not buying anything cos we felt it was kinda dubious.
Pics here, anyway.

6 year old pearls

Pearl powder

Weighing scales.
After weighing out the pearls they are brought to be grounded

Hiding his face on purpose -.-
After looking at the photos I thought it was quite loser-ish to take photos alone so I did something really retarded.
I was waving madly outside the glass to get his attention at first and I was trying to get him to do the twist sign with me. I was gesturing wildly from outside the glass and I guess I looked stupid because he just laughed.
And looked away.
And ignored me.
...
Rejection at its maximum.
Then I just decided not to care and continue taking photos shamelessly, but guess what!!

He actually did it in the end LOL OMG SOOO CUTE
Squealed so loudly when I saw it.
:)
After the pearl factory we went on to watch a drum performance (somewhere else) which was really really good!!
The performance wasn't only about the rhythm and beat of drums but also incorporated elements of martial arts into the performance as well as facial expressions and occasionally shouting.
Never thought I would actually enjoy lol. I was so inspired to play the drums after that wtf.
The only bad thing was this HUGE group of PRCs came into the theatre late and they were making a hell lot of noise. So damn inconsiderate and rude okay.
One of them directly sitting behind us was even unabashedly talking on her phone.... Urgh

The guy in front was really good! His drum sticks were moving so fast they were in a blur.

When the performance ended the PRCs started chanting 'encore' LOL. We all knew it was the PRCs cos they pronounced it as 'on-koh'.
They performed another item anyway, and it was just as spectacular

By the way the girls have really huge biceps from all that drumming. Respect.

End of performance.
After that we got a chance to learn a bit of drums! It was really quite cool haha. Always wanted to learn the drums

This boy is so cute I just can't take it. The drumsticks are longer than his arms or smth.
Wish I could kidnap him and bring him home.

This is the music 'score' for the drums!! When it's 'X', you have to hit the drum in the centre while for the triangle you have to hit the drums at the side.
For tone-deaf people, the sound produced is different. Just sayin'.

What we played on the drums!!!:)
I tried doing all the cool tricks the performers did with the drum sticks, like spinning it around my fingers or throwing it up in the air in a spin then catching it etc.
My drumsticks ended up going all over the place fml :(
My dad was telling me a bit about drums. I always knew he had a bit of background on drums but I didn't exactly know how much until that day D: he started playing this rhythm on the drums which sounded really really familiar and asked me to guess what that beat was.
... Uhm I couldn't :(
But later he told me it was salsa. Like freaking cool he can play the salsa on drums. My dad is so musically inclined (he can play quite a few instruments and can read music). Sometimes I just feel so inadequate.
Later we were given a tour around. Basically shown different types of instruments used in the olden times! Most of them look like torture weapons I'm serious.

Super duper huge drum

Triangular drums wtf.
Haha k this was a really long blog post. If you really read through everything you must really love me alot.
Bye!
Sugar, you're making my head spin.
