Canis lupus

At work yesterday, wondering along in the woods, I was not alone.

Her name is...

This weekend was the first days of spring.
The Vernal Equinox.
It finally got warm enough for an outside bike ride.

If you've been checking in on me the past few months, you know I built up a new road bike this winter and have been riding inside on the trainer since February.
All the snow finally melted about a week ago and this weekend it warmed up into the 50's.
In spite of all the sand and gravel on the shoulder of the roads, It was time to ride outside.
Her maiden voyage on pave`
She is:
Effortless. Like an endless road to the horizon...with a tailwind.
Quiet. Like the hush of a lovers breath.
Smooth. Like silk in the wind.

I made a couple stops for minor adjustments and then settled in for a long easy ride.
At about mile 10, I was really enjoying my zone and then some subtle thoughts began creeping into my head.
...Vernal Equinox...
...Ravens soaring overhead...
...A fox dashed across the road ahead...

At Mile 15...
I had this in mind,
She is black like the Raven and sexy like a Vixen (female fox. vixen: a woman noted for her sexual attractiveness).

"Raven Vixen",

hmmm. I'll meditate on this for awhile.

2 hours and 35 miles later...I was smitten with love.

Spring is here...

Ah yes,
I know spring is knocking at my door when the ice breaks off the creek and the familiar sound of a trickle grows as the melting continues.
I know it's spring when the willow buds open to a warm fuzzy catkin.
And soon the roads will be clear of sand and gravel so I can ride my bike OUTSIDE.

Have a Happy Vernal Equinox.
