Strange Man Without a Face
THE MAN WITH CURSED FACE-JOSE MESTRE
Jose Mestre has been born as a normal child with a birth mark on his upper lip. Brought up in Lisbon, Portugal, he has led a normal life until he realized that the so called “birth mark” has started to grow covering his whole face at the time of puberty. The mark was actually a symptom of ‘haemangioma’, a tumor formation due to vascular malformation caused as the blood which should be like a stream of flowing river has turned into a lake thereby leading to deformation of face and it’s features.
The tumor started growing when he was 14 and has continued to grow even more smothering his lips, nose and one of eyes.
It’s now a 40cm wide, 5kg shockingly massive tumor.
He never treated his tumor due to medical misinformation, lack of finances and religious beliefs. Doing tasks like brushing, eating or drinking is an ordeal that he faces everyday.
The tumor has blinded him in one eye and has mode the jaw so massive that he requires the effort of his hands to open and close them.
Unable to find a job or more likely people willing to offer him job, Mestre has been supported by his sister for all financial and psychological needs.
A Discovery Channel series “My Shocking Story:The Man With No Face” has tried to capture what it feels to be like Mestre with people staring, ridiculing and taking photographs as if it was some caged animal walking freely.
But now one of Britain’s leading facial surgeon has proposed to treat Mestre off his curse. Using ultrasound technique to coagulate blood before operation the doctors have tries to cure Mestre.
Meanwhile rumors have it that Mestre has dies during his operation but no source has confirmed it so far.

Man in a red England shirt get Weird Bull attack face to face
Resting his chin in his hands and enjoying the Spanish sun, this man in a red England shirt has no idea that he is about to come face to face with a rampaging, enraged beast.
Seconds later he is fleeing for his life as one bull leaps into the stands at a bullring and charges through the crowd.
At least 40 people were injured when the 1,100lb animal scaled the perimeter fence in Tafalla, Spain.
Hmmm, that bull is starting to get a little close to the fence: The man in the England jersey, circled, watches the creature - seemingly oblivious to what is about to happen
OMG: The Lion comes face to face with 1,100 pounds of fury as the bull leaps over the perimeter fence. The England fan must have been able to feel the creature's hot breath in his face
I'm an England fan, get me out of here! The fan - who by now has lost his sunglasses - puts valuable feet between him and the bull
Among the injured was a ten-year-old boy, who was taken to hospital with serious stomach wounds. One man was gored in the back.
The incident happened during an event attended by about 3,500 spectators, in which contestants known as recortadores try to get a bull to charge at them so they can dodge it.
But the bull jumped out of the ring, clearing two barriers before landing in the stands and lurching through the screaming crowd, charging at everything it could.

He appeared to be taking particular aim at the man in the England jersey.
But, despite the phrase 'like a red rag to a bull', the animals are actually colour blind. When a matador waves his red cape in the ring, it is the movement, not the colour, that attracts the creature.
One brave spectator even grabbed the bull by the tail in an attempt to slow it down. The animal had already tried to jump into the stands twice.
After damaging a horn, it was about to be returned to the corral and replaced with another bull when it tried a third time and succeeded.
The panic on Wednesday lasted for several minutes before handlers managed to rope the bull and bring it under control. It was later killed.
Most of the injuries were minor and were treated by medical staff on site, but five victims were taken to hospital in the regional capital of Pamplona, best known for its annual San Fermin running of the bulls festival. Three were still being treated last night.
Among the walking wounded was Inaki Zunzarren, who was badly bruised. He said: 'The bull caught me and hurled me against the concrete seating.'
The incident comes at a time when Spain is split over whether bullfighting should be outlawed.
Last month Catalonia became the first major Spanish region to ban it after a heated debate that pitted animal rights against traditional culture.

10 Most Strange and Bizarrely Shaped Lakes and Rivers
Look hard enough and you’ll see the physical environment, both natural and man-made, has a message for us – sometimes in the most unusual places. Lakes and other bodies of water aren’t the first places one might expect to discern symbols, figures and other shapes, but viewed from above they can be surprisingly communicative. We’ve scoured the globe for images of lakes whose shapes speak volumes.
The Lake Eros had a hand in
Nature again has romantic designs with a lake in the shape of the universal symbol for love. This one is to be found in the less frost-bitten environment of Kerala, India – specifically within the beautiful Wayanad district, near Chembra Peak, at about 1,398 metres above sea level. With a surface area of 1,827 square meters, it’s not a big a heart, but it is a fairly warm one.
The Lake that leads the Latin Alphabet
To be honest there are simply loads of heart-shaped lakes out there – everywhere from Ohio to Korea – so we just didn’t have room for all of them here. Shot from a balloon, this next lake – or perhaps more accurately pond – looks like the letter ‘A’ to us. Anyone know of other lakes that spell something out to them? We’d be interested to hear.
The Lake that Bond built
Nature had a little help from Man with this pistol-like body of water, Belgium’s 2.5 km long Schulensmeer, but it’s coincidence it looks like an ad for the next 007 movie. It was artificially created in the ’70s when sand was needed to build a nearby highway, and owes its shape to the parcels of land that were bought for this purpose. Popular for watersports, it’s also an overflow for the Demer River in case of flooding.
The Lake designed by Pisces
This frozen-over, fish-shaped wonder was captured on Alaska’s Mt. McKinley, the highest mountain peak in North America at around 6,194 metres. Mount McKinley actually has a larger rise than Mount Everest, as its base sits at a much lower elevation of 610 m, and is also bulkier than its Himalayan rival. With such imposing facts, it’s no wonder this obscurely fishy lake is less well-known.
The Lake in the image of Man
This next shape is clearly a product of deliberate human intervention in the natural landscape, a figure that stands some 140 metres tall in a lake located near Iacanga in the Brazilian state of São Paulo. However, aside from its location and vital statistics, information about this strange piece of land art is scarce. Anyone know anything we don’t? If so, pray do tell.
The Lake that says ‘How do you do?’
The previous lake may have been man-shaped by design, but this next one looks more natural; natural but not au naturel – see he’s wearing a hat and cane as he walks across the countryside. We’re not sure where this is, but we’ve featured it on EG before and one commenter reckoned it could be Blythefield Reservoir in Staffordshire, England; another said it must be Mr. Peanut of Planters fame.
The Lake of Lady Luck
Canada’s aptly-named Horseshoe Lake might bring luck for some, but geographically oxbow lakes like this are not uncommon. These sweeping U-shaped bodies of water are formed when a wide meander from a river’s main stem is cut off, creating the characteristically curved lake. This fine-looking example is located along the long the Red River, near Morris in southern Manitoba.
The bodies of water you can make your own mind up about
In this next pic a few emergent oxbow lakes are visible, one of which forms the eye of some strange-looking creature. Is it a bird sticking out its tongue and spitting stuff out? Maybe it’s just us. Anyways, the zigzagging body of water forming the outline of whatever-it-is is Fisheating Creek, which runs through Cowbone March west of Florida’s Lake Okeechobee, itself known as The Big O.
The River that doubles your luck
So how do oxbow lakes arise? Well many of them start out a lot like this. Yes, we know, it isn’t a lake, but it could be one in the making. This is Arizona’s Horseshoe Bend, a magnificent meander of the Colorado River situated slightly downstream from Lake Powell within Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. From the steep cliff above, some 305 metres higher up, it makes a breathtaking sight.
