line 19
The word at line 19 of passage 1 of the GP exam today means hug. So when I say the word at line 19, give me a hug!!! lol.
So I managed to not finish the AQ. I was half-way through the 4th argument and the stupid invigilator said stop writing. I was damn pissed off since my watch said that there was really 1 minute left. The vocabulary was easy lah. Line 19: embrace means hug right? Backward societies should hug our rights, freedom and shit. Show some love man.
After GP exam, I found Mr Chew and some other science teachers and they discussed about the SSEF posters. Guess what? I was flamed left right centre upside down, everywhere. Stupid lah. They say my poster too wordy and I failed to freaking acknowledge the professor who anyway hardly did anything for the project. So retarded. Fine lah. Wordy I can reduce. But the woman chem teacher said about the professor thing so directly that I was pwned. Blah.
So I was pissed with the SSEF poster presentation. My more important teammate yesterday couldn't make it for a meeting at tiong bahru plaza cos he had american maths comp in the afternoon. Initially, he said that he could reach there at 3pm, then he switched to 4pm but he was still at school till like 4.30pm. Idiot, make me wait so long over there. My school ended at 1.50pm and I had to wait till 4.30pm to get some reply. I met eugene and fishball in the mrt station over there as I was leaving. I told eugene about this shit and he told me to scold that guy. Well, maybe I should, but I hardly scold people anyway since I tend to forget recent events relatively fast. Anyway, I'm pissed with this.
Back to today, I went to room 3.6 to discover a room of band people, waiting for 1.50pm to arrive to go to swensen's at holland village to celebrate kenneth's birthday. I shan't harp on this further as it can get er, scandalous at the end.

learn more, teach less
The freaking acjc physics department headed by that guy is seriously at its worst ever in recent years. He is an aggressive advocate of learn more, teach less, obviously brainwashed by that building nearby.
When he lectures, he tells you, "lead (read) yourself". I mean like, wtf, especially on a tough topic such as superposition, you expect people to read themselves. This is far worse in his tutorial classes, where he does not actually goes through the questions with the students. He simply tells them the key concepts that they can use, but never tells them how to present their working or explanation. Over at the chemistry department, CoONa always tells his students that presentation is important, then over in the physics side, there's hardly an emphasis on this. The man's colleague who teaches internal H3 physics, simply tells the students to read the notes themselves, never bothering to derive the equations or follow the structure of the notes, leaving the students fumbling to grasp the concepts on relativity. What is even worse is that the full answers for the tutorial was never given, and when the students went on to take the H3 selection test, my friend, Shaun, had to dig out his 1-year-old physics olympiad answers for that tutorial for rmd. So they think that the students who go for H3 are all natural talents in that particular subject? I think not.
All this talk about independent learning is not going to work. (Yeah, I know it has not been really implemented super fully yet.) But in some way, it's part of the e-learning crap, like the economics e-learning that I swear that many didn't even bothered to touch. In the end, half of the 1st term went through with what the e-learning module taught. So if the students aren't even pushed on to learn, what can the teachers do? Next, if self-research on the syllabus were to ever happen in the future, I consider it a waste of precious time. Can't they just give us the materials immediately? After all, the ultimate goal is the A levels, and not what you learn outside the syllabus in the course of the research.
So, why emphasize on project work? Why waste time on projects that I did for each subject last year? You know that the problem of people not working in projects is ever persistent and I didn't gain much intrinsic value from Project Work. All these in the notion of learn more, teach less. JC life is already so hectic and still there is this independent learning part to deal with which is obviously increasing our workload, leading to people like me to have negative sentiments for this kind of thing.
Yes, I know that university education is very "learn more, teach less". My personal experience is that of my H3, where the powerpoint notes are so horribly summarised to the point that you can't even understand them. Therefore, you need Wiki to help you. Over in smu H3, they have to read the book before the class every week. Then you start to think again. Are all JC students really that mature to the point that they take charge of their own education? Surely, there are people who don't even do their tutorials on their own. That, is seriously, sucidal.
Luckily, physics is the only subject that is ever so fervent to promote this mode of learning. And really, what's the point of attending physics lectures?

there, we have talked
In FFXII Revenant Wings, Vaan tries to talk to Lluyd in one point of the game:
"Talk about something!"
Press A.
"I see that there is nothing to talk about."
Press A.
"There, we have talked."
I found this damn retarded and funny. And it is exactly how I would feel sometimes if I were Lluyd. Seriously, a stone. haha.
Surely, I shall find something to talk now. Oh, I still have to take the economics paper for term paper. ): And the teacher said that the tutor may arrange for us to take the physics and chemistry at some other date.. I hope not. D: Then I have to present my project at the ACJC Science Symposium, wah lao, shit la, real public speaking to an unfamiliar crowd and have to sound professional some more. I hate work. Work should just die. Maybe it's just force times distance. Luckily, I already fininshed reading my GP package like since Tuesday. :D But term exams are coming for GP, Econs and Maths. Omg, Econs. Seems that I have to learn how to think quickly and write faster in less than two weeks. But thankfully, they are giving us 2 hours to do a case study and essay question! Woo hoo! But I know that I wouldn't make it in time. Practise ah! Shit, almost forgot about H3 test on the Saturday of term exam week, hmm.. Biophysics. Must do well cos it is the A levels! Luckily, for the 3rd time, it should be easy cos they say it is like the tutorial questions! That is good. But if they draw a freaking bell curve, I'm dead cos the course is filled with the top physics brains. So if you see me as freaking mugger, please re-think. They are 1000000000000000 times worse off. Their brain is all string theory, schrodinger's equation and general relativity. That is, uh, scary enough. For your information, I don't even know the gist of these !#@%!@#% theories. Oh, my lab session clashes with band camp on the Wednesday of the march holidays, that is good, cos band is getting kind of boring with numerous intonation sessions haha. Imagine wasting whole evenings in LT4 stoning and freaking transposing the score a minor 3rd up. Firstly, I hate transposing a minor 3rd up since I am used to transposing a major 2nd down. Secondly, I can't stand the boringness, except for the occassional weird happenings.
Ahh. Sorry for the chunk of words. They just wanna come out. Well, I'm off.
Uh, someone please recommend me chemistry (especially inorganic part) and economics tuition. Your help will be appreciated.

early morning rantings
You know I don't like the idea of some people entering ACJC. I hope that they all don't qualify and don't turn up today. Their appeals don't work too. That would be good, especially for the one who recently declared itself an ACJC student on facebook by joining the network.
Anyway, many things will suck today. Write some GP essay on Science and Tech. Only a 20 minute break. Almost sure late for the Founder's Day Rehearsal with the SSEF meeting. There's Founder's Day rehearsal and then sectionals after that. Wah sian lah. Tomorrow also sucks cos there's GP package test.
Blah, I better get back to doing the GP essay preparations. Yeah, now it's like 5am.

no terms!
Due to the most unpreventable circumstances of the Singapore Science and Engineering Fair 2008, I shall have no term examinations for physics, chemistry and economics! woo hoo! yeah man! :D Apparently, the next examinations for happen to be the prelims. :S
You know about the recipe I shared on this blog like 2 days ago? Here's the result - after putting it in the fridge (not freezer) for like 24 hours.Notice the 2 layers of the drink? It seems like the top part remains frozen like a cap with curdled milk while the bottom part is liquid (which is a little green.. eww). lol. So like if I inverted the drink, it would not spill haha. Nice, like the blizzard ice-cream. In the end, i still drank it, and it tasted great.
Anyway, work is seriously piling up, cos I've been slacking for like the past 2 weeks. Let's see:
1. Maths tutorial vectors 2 last question
2. Physics tutorial superposition
3. Chemistry tutorial hydroxyl compounds
4. Economics Macroecons Articles (4 more)
5. Economics Govt. spending tutorial
6. The Right Word
7. GP example file and essay plans
8. GP essay plan for Science and Tech essay
9. SSEF poster and presentation preparations
10. The neverending mess in the room
11. Further research on unsure concepts taught in NTU H3 Contemporary Physics
12. Study for Maths and GP for term exams
13. Last year's uncompleted work (mostly Maths extra practice questions)
14. Auto-pilot on Ten Year Series for all subjects
15. Science Chronicles essay competition
16. Helping out in preparations for the SMC fun-o-rama booth. Yay, we have the whole field for our game!
Quite a list. Luckily, not as bad as last year :D I should go and join one more competition for fun.
The question is, where to find competitions that aren't so demanding such as the material science quiz. Something like last year's CSI would be fun and interesting, but they are considered to be quite rare. Nevermind, I shall continue my search on the noticeboards.
Let me do work now. bye!
Many good years ahead.

AH, the blog title. An update: Money: yes. Honey: no. Somebody Loves Me: maybe. Oh, what day is today? Start with V one. uh, Valentine's Day! So happy Valentine's Day! <3 So after band, I went to eat dinner at Great World with my parents. Guess what, the whole mall was filled with couples. They all dress up nicely. Hold hands. uh, roses too. Pretty amazing. To me: just another day. The result of the boycott.
So after leaving Great World, on Hoot Kiam Road in the direction heading to Orchard Road, I thought I saw "Edward Lee Apartments". I was like holy shit. The school's security guard is so rich, can buy some apartments and put his name up there. omg. One wonders what else he really does other than preventing people from leaving the school before 1.10pm.
Back to Valentine's day, so what's up with Xav and JY? From SMSes concerning what they are doing at a particular time of a day, an ernie phone background that Xav got from from JY and Xav giving a sunflower to JY today, I sense something there. haha. Good luck both of you. JY is so going to do the peel off the flower petals one by one and deciding whether yes, he loves me, or no, he doesn't. XD

some recipe for something sweet
Today was cross-country. I ran/mostly walked with yel, lumpy and lester. uh, The Champion Team won everything except uh, the cheerleading. Allan freaking won the boys' competitive. Congrats man! Other than that, cross-country wasn't that memorable. Nothing interesting here! Just the whole of ACJC running all over West Coast Park and littering the ground with the cans from Shermaine Tan's class. -.- Anyway, I didn't quite like the new Oldham house T-shirt cos the old one simply rocks. The stupid T-shirt is a copy of Thoburn at the back and it seems too empty at the front.
Ah, nevermind. Better share my recipe.
No name yet. Ice blended orange smoothie. Makes a few cups.
You need a blender and a measuring cup.
Lots of ice, like 20 big cubes or more
100ml cold water
30ml fresh milk
150ml orange squash concentrate
150ml wheatgrass and veggie drink from marigold i think
A few drops of vanilla flavouring
A heaped teaspoon of orange cloudy colouring
4 heaped teaspoons of sugar
Put all these in a blender and blend until you get the ice-blended texture, then stop.
Need I say more? Ok, drink!
Oh ya, in advanced, Happy Valentines' Day!
Btw, I'm boycotting this year's V-day. I'm lazy to to buy or fold paper flowers and what for do I do it anyway? Anyway, look out for Locker 55 at the void deck area, there's an article on flowers I stuck on it. If I remember, 1 rose means I Love You, 2 roses means I Feel As Much For You As You Feel For Me, 10 means You Are Perfect and 12 means You Are Mine. If a girl receive 13 roses, the guy's kkj will rot. o.O
Anyway, it will be a happening day in school, a different kind of day. Yeah, look forward to it. Don't look back and grumble at the Maths test and the Maths file and the little red book.

ask me anything
After lumpy asked me about differential equations yesterday, I feel motivated enough to help people in Maths and Physics. haha. Thanks lumpy.
ASK ME ANYTHING for Maths and Physics if you need help desperately. I will try my best to help. If you are looking for Chemistry, you can try me, but only for Organic Chem because my Inorganic Chem is CMI. Economics is not within my reach, I realise I seriously need tuition.
Oh, btw, I may be taking term exams later or earlier or not at all! :D So happy! Yah, got official reason somemore.

happy cny!
Happy RAT year! RAT stands for rotten, atrocious, terrible. Yah, that's what I think. Sorry, bad way to start a post. 1 year of bad luck liao. shit. A level year somemore. omg! (In Stuarta's tone)
So chinese new year is a time to gamble. I won like $6.10 two nights ago. =D Only to lose the amount and more than it today. D: My cousin won like $24, so unfair. Today was worse. crap. seriously no luck. Don't give me that owl look with the stupid words "O srsly?"
So Zaneth, Sylvia, Xavier & Jia Yi, Hui Min & Adi, Yong Xin & Jia Jun and Sock Ching came over to visit! :D Stupid Zaneth never invite the many rest to come, otherwise there would have been be more...
Some things for sure... Sylvia is so greedy for money until her laughter sounds so evil. Xavier stole everyone's money and happily says that he won like $14 from us. Yong Xin craves for more oranges. Hui Min craves for Adi. Zaneth should not be allowed to call people up for gatherings ever again. Jia Yi thinks my mum's school is called CPS (that's right!), then she says Carribean Primary School. -.- Sock suggested a game that made me lose a lot of money. -.- The Wii is the best party console. The NDSes connected wirelessly makes them the best portable party consoles. So, Nintendo ftw!!! :D Gambling cards ftw too!!! (especially for Xav -.-)
Only disappointment: Tidbits. So little eaten. Looks like I shall have to eat most of them. X.X
Hmm... we also didn't play mahjong. ):
In the midst of all these, back to reality: uh homework. chem weekend shit. study for maths test. other nonsense too. What an anti-climax.
Next week: College cross-country = gg. Valentine's Day = o.O

the occult in the church
3 posts in an hour. A record for me. Chemistry test tomorrow. I'm neglecting it for now. Looking forward to Chinese New Year!
Let's move on to the hot topic:
Let's examine this picture. Source: My Phone (Pardon my seemingly STOMPer-like behaviour. No. I'm not one of those despicable creatures.) My church, St Andrew's Cathedral.3 rules broken by the girl!
1. Using phone to read an e-book in church.
2. Sitting down and reading e-book while the girl's parents are standing up to sing the hymn.
3. WTF! A book on RUNES. gasp. Never imagined this in a church.
Later on, she did something equally worse. She went for holy communion without asking for forgiveness and all that. Wow, seems like she was forced to come to church by her parents. Obviously, it did not work, as if she never came.
1. and 2. are already bad enough because she's already how old. But 3. absolutely proves something: the occult in the church.
Think about it.
Time to get back to work. Time does not wait.

During a recent visit to a lighting shop in Balestier, I found a benzene ring light! Perfect for any Chemistry teacher! Especially for Mr Kuna, my Chemistry tutor! =D

money ripping
Finally, my eyes have been enlightened by the ploy that the *******'* ****** has been playing.
First, it was the AC games shirt. Next, it was the JC1 clan shirt. What next? More shirts with forced demand? Trying to squeeze money out of the student population who probably have enough shirts to wear for many days without washing any? It has worked, unfortunately, so far, to fill up the coffers of that unspeakable group.
The AC games shirt. The first ever compulsory shirt in 2007 in order to participate in the games. They achieved a "success" in clearing almost all the shirt stocks available (about 900). Cost price: damn low, a deplorable figure. Profits: more than 100%. That is an awful amount of money gone to a monopoly. It was an autocracy which brainwashed my class representative to make everyone buy a shirt. Mixed reactions because there could be people who thought that the shirt was nice or not nice. For me: What to do? Pay up lor, no choice mah. Over at the other side, they shout: Huat ah!
The JC1 clan shirt. The compulsory shirt sold to the JC1s which tried to appeal to the masses by featuring their own clans! Wow, a clan shirt. Last year, it was not compulsory, it was just an OGL initiative. This year, the unspeakables took charge. The designs looked better, especially that of the Indus shirt, with the exception of the ultra-feminine Joaquim shirt which made the guys look gay. But with a cost. A strategic money squeezing scheme was in the works. Alas, forced demand! The killer of the market forces. The impendiment to the invisble hand. Choices went out of the window for the second time.
All these for what? Greed and selfishness. The number one cause for conflict, according to today's chapel. Think about it.
