The Tans

Dad called me last Friday and told me "mehh, wa beh tan i loke KL". Mehh, I can't wait to go KL.

Hmmmm......................................I was a bit sceptical. I don't mean that he was feeling otherwise or stuff like that, just that there must be something else that could justify what he just said. Afterall, KL is nothing but Crazy overcrowded shopping malls, endless traffic jams and almost non-existent street food. He is not a fan of all the above and Klang Bak Kut Teh certainly was not enough a justification.
What could it be?

Then......"papa siau ai beh nor teng motorbike"

But what he meant was..............

The All-Terrain-Vehicle (ATV)
He finally got one from a guy who operates the Extreme Park at Sunway Lagoon.
Anyone who is interested in one or interested to rent one, call me dad.

On the 2nd night at Chee Cheong Kai, the night I discovered my hidden talent.

The ART OF HAGGLING.

Fortunately, I found it rather addictive. Like a throphy won when the vendor begs you with his 2 hands clapsed together on prayer mode not to squeezed his already 'thin' margin.
yeah, right.
Then you proceed to squeezed him further knowing that he hungers for your business and that he had already 'suck the blood' of many innocent victims.
Up to a point where we reached the price that mom is willing to pay and the guy almost already reluctant to sell.
That's 76% off the Initial Offer Price.
Well, he wouldn't have sold that fake Adidas to us, if he'd made a loss, now would he?

We bought this 'Iron Tree' at IKEA for RM1.90 and thought it was an amazing deal !

On the way to the Airport the next day, dad saw the exact same plant by the KAKI LIMA growing like lalang. Mom tried to console herself that the 'iron plant' she bought was more respectable than the one we just saw.

I was in denial.

But hey, it's just RM1.90 and the leaves got 2 colours.
