The Tans

Dad called me last Friday and told me "mehh, wa beh tan i loke KL". Mehh, I can't wait to go KL.

Hmmmm......................................I was a bit sceptical. I don't mean that he was feeling otherwise or stuff like that, just that there must be something else that could justify what he just said. Afterall, KL is nothing but Crazy overcrowded shopping malls, endless traffic jams and almost non-existent street food. He is not a fan of all the above and Klang Bak Kut Teh certainly was not enough a justification.
What could it be?

Then......"papa siau ai beh nor teng motorbike"

But what he meant was..............

THIS !

The All-Terrain-Vehicle (ATV)
He finally got one from a guy who operates the Extreme Park at Sunway Lagoon.
Anyone who is interested in one or interested to rent one, call me dad.

On the 2nd night at Chee Cheong Kai, the night I discovered my hidden talent.

The ART OF HAGGLING.

Fortunately, I found it rather addictive. Like a throphy won when the vendor begs you with his 2 hands clapsed together on prayer mode not to squeezed his already 'thin' margin.
yeah, right.
Then you proceed to squeezed him further knowing that he hungers for your business and that he had already 'suck the blood' of many innocent victims.
Up to a point where we reached the price that mom is willing to pay and the guy almost already reluctant to sell.
That's 76% off the Initial Offer Price.
Well, he wouldn't have sold that fake Adidas to us, if he'd made a loss, now would he?

We bought this 'Iron Tree' at IKEA for RM1.90 and thought it was an amazing deal !

On the way to the Airport the next day, dad saw the exact same plant by the KAKI LIMA growing like lalang. Mom tried to console herself that the 'iron plant' she bought was more respectable than the one we just saw.

I was in denial.

But hey, it's just RM1.90 and the leaves got 2 colours.

Counting Sheeps.......

Now I lay me down not to sleep.
I just get tangled in the sheets.

I swim in sweat three inches deep.
I just lay back and claim defeat...

Lids down, I count sheep. I count heartbeats.
The only thing that counts is thatI won't sleep...

My mind is racing, filled with lists of things to do and things I've done.
Another sleepless night's begun......

At first, it's almost impossible to doze off at night.
The when I have no problem dozing myself off, I found myself waking up almost every morning at 5 !
WHat in the world is happening to me ???

I googled insomnia and found this:

A. Transient (short term) insomnia lasts from a single night to a few weeks.
B. Intermittent (on and off) insomnia is short term, which happens from time to time.
C. Chronic (on-going) insomnia occurs at least 3 nights a week over a month or more.

BAH !

Dilemma

I found my self in a teribble dilemma for the past couple of days over what to do this saturday.
1. Attend my colleague's potluck cum beer drinking session at her house
2. Join Siong and buddies for 'yum char session' with 'Uncle Lim'
3. Stay at home alone and chill up and catch-up on my sleep or I could also catch-up on my
endless housekeeping task or I could go buy some shoes.

Dilemma ! Dilemma !

Option #1 seemed fun. I missed the loud and chaotic night filled with fun musics, trash talking and juicy gossips. Itching to go, but at the same time for some reasons I felt otherwise. I see them at least 50 hours every week. That's 200 hours a month which is 2,400 hours a year! The least I would like to do is have the weekend without them.

I tried to avoid option #2 as I was never excited on Genting Highland since I was 12. During that time, when mom and dad brought us (me and ah meng) up there, all we did was took crazy photos of my orange rabbit soft toy in different pose while mom and dad busy cashing in at the casino. On one extreme ocassion, I took photos of Meng while he "flew" from one bed to another. We would be busy chasing moth out of the window. And then we would have a midst blowing competition outside the hotel lobby to see who can blow out the most midst out from our mouth.

But if I don't take option #2, that will leave me with option #3. Frankly, I have longed for option #3 for quite sometime, but spending the entire Saturday alone, seemed overwhelming. What if I got bored?

So I decided on Option #2.

And guess what? I won't RM50 bucks from playing Casino War ! Initially I won RM150 bucks but greed almost got the best of me. Despite this, it wasn't that bad after all !
I learnt a new game and glad to announce that I have oficially dish tai-sai.

Pangkor, you are better than Cherating.

Who says Cherating is better than Pangkor?

I was at Pangkor, a week after my Cherating Trip and look at all those fishes !!!!!!

This lil' island is called Coral Island.
Got very exited as I spotted several long lost 'friends'.....parrot fish, sea urchin, sea cucumber, rabbit fish and that lil' fish with a black round spot on its body (i think it's called ikan supat, but then again I thought that fish is suppose to be in fresh water, no?)
Where is NEMO?????
It's sad that's there is no sea anemony (not sea enemy, ya. it's sea ane...anae....anaemony....
(*&%$& how to spell Nemo's home??????)
All the corals are dead.
Oh, when you're inside the hotel room, there's this sticker on the wooden door to the balcony with a monkey holding a banana picture. The sticker has a cross over it that say "do not feed the monkey". Like the "dilarang meletak kereta" sign, you follow what it says la. Do not feed the monkey.
What they didn't warn the hotel guest was, BEWARE OF DOOR OPENING MONKEYS !
while I was watching tv, suddenly I heard door knob twisting, and its coming from the balcony.
Since when the housekeeper comes in from the balcony? Can't be what.
It happened quickly and just like a human being, our "distance cousin" came it and looked around.
I know these monkeys can ransacked your kitchen and garbage bin. I didn't they can open door knob like human being !!!!
I started to lunged myself forward and shouted as if i'm a Ugly Green Orge. Clearly it didn't work. I'm not scary enough meh ???
I was about to run into the bathroom and lock myself in when my bf saved the day with the king sized comforter and shoo the monkey away. Just like that.

You ain't messin' with this fish.

The great ocean view from the hotel. Turquois blue sea and powdery white sand. Ah.......

On my way to the round island and snorkelling trip.

Everyone eating KFC at the Ferry Terminal.

Hotel view.

Free-jumping Hornbill. Look ma' I can jump !

Cherating, why doesn't you impreessed me?

This year's branch trip was like many other years, except that it's not Port Dickson. Say bye bye to PD. I hate that place. And i'm not saying that I like Cherating. Its just better than PD.
PD sucks. Ugly beaches, dirty sea, plenty of abandoned service apartments, even it's 5 star resort doen't impressed me at all. Wonder why would people still go there?

Miles long beaches. Absolutely nothing shout about. Not impressed. But the breeeze coming from the Laut Cina Selatan are fantastic!

Happy hours with lotsa "thor tau" and beer. This is my colleague, Jeff, our 'chi mui', our gal's guy.

I have been Framed !

"lei pei yan yoon wong" said me colleague.

I totally agree.

You see, today I receive a very nasty letter from a client. Yes, a very nasty 3 page letter.

This is what I get in return after helping him with all his issues, a nasty letter with the subject "Unhelpful Service" . Is this how you treat people, if you don't get what you want? I mean, do you go out and burn down people's house just because the aunty does not sell that dress in red?

Civilized people would just go like "oh man.." and then get over it., go to the next shop that sells that dress red dress.

Come on la, if the aunty don't have that red dress, means she DON'T have la ! You don't expect that poor aunty to go out and but a cloth and sew it for you there and then ma.
If the apek only sells durian and rambutan, you don't demand for papaya, right? and worst get all stressed up when he can't sell you papaya.

It doesn't make any sense.

My point here it, though as much as I would like to help our client with their issues, there are also things that needs to be complied. Thing that could not be compromise, cos of the interest at stake !

Some people can be so........

Hmpf !!

I'm so totally disconnected.

Life without the Internet.

Please bear with me. My new apartment does not have Streamx yet. Earlier there was no telephone line. After they got the telephone line. There's no Streamx.

Then, there is always Plan B: Maxis Broadband.
BUT, apparantly they don't provide the service for anybody living above 5th floor !
What a technology.

OK.

Here goes plan C: i-Burst.
These people only covers Bangsar, part of Mont' Kiara area only. But what about Bandar Utama Damansara, the place where I live? There are also rich people living there, you know??? BESIDES mont' kiara and bangsar. DUHHH !!
Good news is there will cover the whole klang valley by this Sept.
So stay tuned to my blog !

There is always a contingency plan (if neither of the above plans work)

There is always the OLD FASHION DINASOUR AGE dial-up internet with the 56K modem.
hehehehehe !!

This thing called.....Secret

I swear upon my dead dog's grave that it really works?

Have you ever experience a day when one thing after another goes wrong. A chain reaction, one bad thing after another. Like "jatuh ditimpa tangga".

when you tried to look for your lost ear rings when your very late for work. The more you tried to look for it, the more impossible it seems to find it. Then when you have given up on ever finding it, there it is right in front of your nose.

A couple of weeks ago, I read about it in the newspaper. I knew i wanted to have it there and then. But they were all sold out.

I finally got it at Times Book shop at Hartamas 2 days after placing my order. I have yet to finnish reading it, and i'm already starting to see how this things works.

This thing in talking about...............

The LAWS OF ATTRACTION & the POWER of VISUALIZATION

The Secret by Rhonda Byrne.

Yes, you can use this skill to attract 'sui yu' (sugar daddy) or ikan bilis.

or

You could try it for some other useful stuff like getting a car park inside Mid Valley during peak hours and wining prizes at contests.

Couple of weeks ago, I managed to solved a major issue my apartment developer. Issues that I thought almost impossible. I was even prepared to let them forfeit my money by going against what I thought a ridiculous set of rules.
No, I did not VISUALIZE them naked nor did I ATTRACT them with my charm.
It's The Secret which is working after all !

I have tried it on a couple of things at work and I'm still amazed till now that this thing really works.

Everybody has read it or still reading it (like me). All the greatest people in history uses it. So does all the wealthiest and famous people.

Keep an open mind when reading it. Dont' let your mind be clouded by your own judgement and scepticism.

All in a Day's Work

Last Friday we had our usual 'crazy hour' at the branch.

As i hardly ever take pictures inside the branch....now this is where I work for the past 3 1/2 years. Most of our clients said that this place looks like a shopping mall instead of a Bank.

Till now, I can't determined whether that remark is a compliment or otherwise.

Now, if you go up the escalator behind us the first human being that you will see is ME
(or rather my 'typhoon swept' desk and the mountain high files behind me).

Sometimes the files would 'spilled' over to carpetted floor behind my desk and colleague would start to nag that my place looks more like a lawyer's firm!

Duuhhh....! I mean do I have a choice? Everybody seemed to be looking for me.......at times, I would be replying emails while talking on the phone with a client in front of me (not to mentioned another another call waiting for me). Yeah, I have 2 f**cking phones !

I have even managed to master the art of writing while talking and listening to people.

That's ALL in a day's work.

Despite all these madness, I still come home each day with a positive outlook and a HUGE SMILE on my face.
Like the one you see in this picture. *grin*

Dixie Ducks

Currently listening to.......

The Dixie Chicks.....Not Ready to Make Nice

here's the lyrics:

Forgive, sounds good.
Forget, I'm not sure I could.
They say time heals everything,
But I'm still waiting
I'm through, with doubt,
There's nothing left for me to figure out,
I've paid a price, and i'll keep paying
I'm not ready to make nice,
I'm not ready to back down, I'm still mad as hell
And I don't have time
To go round and round and round
It's too late to make it right
I probably wouldn't if I could
Cause I'm mad as hell
Can't bring myself to do what it is
You think I should
I know you said
Why can't you just get over it,
It turned my whole world around
and i kind of like it
I made by bed, and I sleep like a baby,
With no regrets and I don't mind saying,
It's a sad sad story
That a mother will teach her daughter
that she ought to hate a perfect stranger.
And how in the world
Can the words that I said
Send somebody so over the edge
That they'd write me a letter
Saying that I better shut up and sing
Or my life will be over

Great music ! Can't stop replaying it in my iPod.

Hunting for wardrobe and kitchen system is A PAIN IN THE ASS. Let me explain why.Being a meticulous person like me, getting what I want according to my plan is a NIGHTMARE.
Here are a list of things one need to consider (in random order):

1. Type of material you want. Melamine, Solid wood (oak, rose wood, teak), spray paint (glossy or matte)

2. Your kitchen design. How many drawers should one have? how many cabinets? tall unit? one that open like a door. sliding?

3. Feng shui. Yes ! Feng Shui. Apparently, you can't have your sink opposite your gas stove. It's bad feng shui. Bad Bad Bad. They say "you can't have fire and water facing each other. It'll create havoc.
BUT that's exactly how my kitchen is suppose to be. I will not compromise, I won't take any chances. And I insisted my designer to shift the gas stove parallel to my sink no matter what it takes.

Buying tonnes of Interior Design Books, Mag...doesn't help either. The design is NOT practical for my small kitchen.

4. Then you come to built-in stove. Apparently there's 6, 8, 10, 12 ...functions cooking. Scratch head like crazy. I mean an oven is still an oven.

5. Did I mention the marble table?

Then there is the BUDGET. Yes.. $$$$$$
One designer actually came up with a computer simulationof how my kitchen and wardrobe would look like. And what I can say is it's looks GREAT. It looks real. I told her what I want and she came up with the design.

The price??? *&%#% RM21,000-00 (After discount) for ONLY the kitchen and a wardrobe !

Tiga Ratus

"Prepare for Glory"
Based on Frank Miller's graphic novel about the ancient Battle of Thermopylae, 300 is extremely violent, visually stunning, alternately horrific and relentlessly entertaining.
Caution: Not recommended for people with weak heart and history of depressions.
This movie is about 300 Spartans go to war against an army of Persians numbering millions.
300 tells the story of their victory. The story isn’t their death, but how they chose to live.
A complete testosterone-fest, in the spirit of Gladiator, though more brutal and visceral an experience.
I must say that this is by far the most violent and DARK movie i've ever seen. I did not hate it, nor did i love it.
I actually felt depressed after watching this movie. Not by the bloodbath and the likes, but by scenes on how a Spartan child been brought up and trained is such brutal manner, its a wonders they could survive to become Kings.
Be prepared for Guts Gore Glory and CARNAGE !
Hmmm......Not my type of movie la. But it's WORTH watching.

Happy Valentine's Day

I have a new found respect for iPOD products. Not only do they have cool and sleek design, they comes with unconventional colors like BABY PINK and WHITE.

I discovered that it's not just an MP3 player. This baby could store photos and I can even view song lyrics. Got alarm clock. Best part is, I can even download this thing called podcast. I know, I'm sounding like hutan......

WTF......Br IT ney ?

Honest to god, if I saw this walking toward me in the night, it would take about 3 seconds to convince me it was alive before I tried to chop its head off. If you saw this in the jungle, you would throw a net over it. Then poke it with a stick and jump back startled when it spoke. Then you would probably ask it for wishes. Never in a million years would it occur to you that it was human.
People who live at the bottom of the ocean aren't this pale ! *shudder*
Am I see things or is it really TRUE?

RM9.99 for an air ticket to Manchester? *slaps face twice to check whether it's just a dream*
