Beautiful film no doubt :)
The story is lovely and the animation is breathtaking, the avatar world is so real that in the end... you find yourself rooting for the unreal make-belief world rather than the cold, bleak world overshadowed by greed and ambition portrayed in the movie.
However, it is hard to call this film an epic . An epic in terms of technological wonders yes but it does not go as far as to touch your heart to the levels of true epics - Star Wars & Lord of the Rings (both wins hands down) and I think the reason for this lies in the lack of depth in the plot.
The love theme between a human and the animated comes across most strongly but it is far too simplistic, and the world seem too unreal to carry this theme across convincingly to touch the tenterhooks of our hearts. Do people even tear when they watch this?
I think more layers will help, and they could have developed more on the themes of friendship, self-sacrifice, meaningful causes much more deeply. After all, strong sub-plots supporting the main story are critical ingredients for epic success.
My verdict:
Be prepared to be kept at the edge of your seat and be marveled by the beautiful animation.
Don't have too high expectations of the plot, it is just predictable. Pocahontas remade?
Watch it in 3D...and popcorns always help ;)
I can see a franchise of MPRG arising from this movie (and indeed there is).. great way for cash flow. There is ample room for a second series if they can focus on thickening the plot.

Perhaps love
A song/video i was looking at on the train back home today.
Complete, irrevocable love from strangers, to acquaintances to friends, to the person you cannot live without. Figuratively speaking because even if you can physically live without him, you cannot do so emotionally.
Titanic stretched this definition to a rather uneasy level to me. After 'seeing'' each other for abt 2 days, this love ends in a dramatic tragedy that makes up one of the greatest love stories that can only belong to fiction . Years after the affair when Kate is an old wrinkled lady, she still carries the love of a man she has only met briefly and made love with in some steamy train carriage when she was what, 20? It is incredible. Incredibly unbelievable.
But that's what love is isn't it. It is incredibly unbelievable. But until i find the person i can feel that I can't live without, the person whom have seen me through my ups and downs and bads and goods.....and still love me unconditionally, and make me feel this way.. it is only, perhaps love.
I don't want perhaps love.

Music of a night
Wise words, true words, well intended verses
more beneficial than sugar-laced concoctions
and honey-glazed motions
the speech of everyday life
speaks infinitely more
than the music of a night.

open your eyes wide before 'I do'
yet close one when do is done

to its full glory

Wait for the arrival of spring
When the first shoots peek up to the nurturing warmth of the sun,

Joy's happy meal theory explained by me.
Choosing a life partner is like having a happy meal, according to Jolly. You can't exactly choose whatever you want in a happy meal - a cheeseburger, fries, a drink or a fish burger, corn cup and a drink. Let's assume Happy Meals only come in inflexible sets (much like the ... grad photo package)
You may like some of it, but you may not like all of it.
Say a cheeseburger, fries and coke happy meal. You may not like fries but u like the burger and coke. But because the burger is a necessary requirement to you, you will still purchase the happy meal and reluctantly take in the fries. Men are like that. You really like this __something__ about him but you dislike __fries__, but because this __something__ quality is so important to you, you'll still accept him.
While in the other happy meal combination, say a fish burger, corn cup n coke combi, perhaps you are allergic to fish but you really like the corn cup. Buying this is bad for you because ultimately, the burger is what fills you up and if you are allergic to it, then........... you better not be eating it. Likewise, some men may have dangerously attractive qualities but they do not fulfill your needs (Burger is the main deal here).
You're better off settling for the Happy Meal No.1 - cheeseburger fries n coke.
But short-term wise, we are always distracted or disgruntled by the sides.
