Elf On The Shelf Breakfast

Sunday, November 30th, started off with a bang!  We woke up to one of our very favorite breakfasts of the year, delivered by our elf, Oliver!

Oliver serves the same treats each year.....stacks of white powdered donuts with a candy cane, Hershey "kisses from Santa", mini marshmallow "snowballs from the North Pole" and chocolate donut Rudolphs!  This year he threw a little vanilla yogurt with Christmas sprinkles in!

They didn't sleep in these jammies as I wanted the breakfast to be a surprise, and this would have surely tipped Leah off!  Instead, they were laying on the backs of their chairs for them to change into before breakfast!

Oliver kept his gifts simple this year!  New Christmas sheets that we'll use for years to come!

This was the beginning of a fun month with Oliver!

He isn't quite as adventurous as some other elves I know, but one morning he did leave them a little note out of marshmallows!  (This was only because Leah came home from school one afternoon telling us how COOL Alexis' elf was because he spelled her name with marshmallows!)  She could NOT WAIT to go to school on this morning to tell her friends what her elf did!  Any guesses who ate their name as fast as humanly possible?

This was on Oliver's last morning with us!  He left a note in the sink (that Lane STILL won't let us wash out) letting the kids know that they were all finally on the nice list!  He had also painted their noses red during the night, but most of it must have rubbed off while they slept!  He didn't want to paint them too dark because it was a busy Christmas Eve with lots of pictures that would be best without red noses!

Most mornings though, we simply found him hiding in a new spot!  I don't have any pictures, but Oliver and Barbie got VERY close!  They were found one morning KISSING UNDER THE MISTLETOE!  Can you imagine?  After that they were found in the Barbie movie theater watching a movie and going for a ride in the American Girl slug bug!

Christmas Jammies

One of my very favorite things about the holidays are matching jammies!  I'm ADDICTED (and I think that's putting it lightly)!

Christmas Calendar

One of the kids (and mine too) most favorite Christmas traditions is our nightly activities from our Christmas calendar!  They look forward to doing "calendar" all day long, and it's a fantastic incentive for good behavior!  Alot of the activities we do carry over from year to year, but thanks to Pinterest I'm able to come up with a few new ones throughout the month!

Dec. 1 - Sing Christmas carols with the Merry-okee!

Dec. 2 - Melt a snowman!  A new favorite!

Dec. 3 - Play Silver Bells Memory!

Dec. 4 - Have a marshmallow snowball fight!  Of course they LOVE this!

Dec. 5 - Have a slumber party by the Christmas tree!

Dec. 6 - Have breakfast with Santa!
Dec. 7 - Paint a nutcracker!  Leah fell in love with nutcrackers last Christmas at Mimi's house.  Mimi sent her home with two of hers to get her a little collection going (not exactly sure where the two tiny ones are from...I think they're ornaments that someone added to our collection).  I told Leah that each year she could pick out a new nutcracker (this year she chose the gingerbread baker).  One day we were out shopping and found real wooden paintable nutcrackers at Hobby Lobby!  I HAD to get them!  I'll treasure these two forever!
Dec. 8 - Christmas sticker fun with foam Christmas trees!

Dec. 9 - New Christmas panties and underwear!  Obviously no pictures!

Dec. 10 - Christmas B-I-N-G-O!

Dec. 11 - Play Christmas Charades in new Christmas jammies!
Dec. 12 - Go on a candy cane hunt!  Another new favorite!  We were obviously having way too much fun for me to get any pictures!  Ha!  (Actually I think it was way past bedtimes and the kids were fighting over candy canes, but they did love this!)

Dec. 13 - Read The Gingerbread Man and eat gingerbread boy cookies!

Dec. 14 - The Mullikin's annual Gingerbread House party in our gingerbread jammies!

Dec. 15 - Make Christmas tree ice cream cones!

Dec. 16 - Color Christmas cookies!  Another new favorite!  This may have been the top winner!
Dec. 17 - Make snow!  Another new favorite!

Dec. 18 - Have a picnic by the Christmas tree before Lane's Christmas program!

Dec. 19 - Polar Express

Dec. 20 - Mommy and Leah went to watch The Nutcracker!  Luke, Lauren and I went out to dinner that night while Hannah babysat the kids and let them watch a Christmas movie and make yummy chocolate popcorn!  This was Lane's portion of the calendar!

Dec. 21 - Bake Christmas cookies!

Dec. 22 - Grinch, Grinch, Grinch!!!  This is the one they look forward to the most each year!  This year we wore Grinch jammies, read "How The Grinch Stole Christmas!", played Grinch B-I-N-G-O, drank Grinch floats and ended the night watching The Grinch movie!

Dec. 23 - Look at Christmas lights in our jammies!

Dec. 24 - Sprinkle our reindeer food!

Dec. 25 - Merry Christmas!!!
