"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." ~ Isaiah 55: 8-11

FUNKY TWICK OR TWEAT / CQC#3 & TESC#87...

Here's to more funky Halloween goodness...

I haven't played along with Taylor's sketches lately, not because they aren't always fabulous... just been spreading the challenge sketch love recently! I paired it with the new colourQ challenge #3, I think they go together perfectly!

I had fun a couple days ago making my own "dsp", so using a 3/4" square punch, I punched out a bunch of squares & pasted them down for the top portion of the background. I stamped the pumpkin image from Twick or Tweat (Stampin' Up!) on all 4 colors of paper, so that I could cut out different pieces for paper-pieceing... it's really one of my favorite techniques! I replaced the skeleton image's skull with the smallest pumpkin.

ASIAN ARTISTRY / C4C7 & OCC10.17.09...

These colors certainly were a challenge...

This card was made using the color challenge from Our Creative Corner, and the sketch challenge from Crazy 4 Challenges. I have to say, these colors were really hard for me!

I pulled out Asian Artistry, a Stampin' Up! level 2 hostess set for this challenge. It's only available when you make a purchase of $300 or more. To color the stamp, I used my Watercolor Wonder Crayons, I had forgotten how much I loved these! You just 'color' on the stamp, mist it with water & voilĂ  - a beautifully watercolored image! The ribbon is teh Soft Suede Polka-Dot grosgrain - I just reversed it!

DELIGHTFUL DECORATIONS a la RETRO / USSIS#27 & JUGS3...

AAHHH ~ I'm still being bitten by the retro bug...

Yes, I know this SU! Ski Slope paper is retired, and I'm sorry - but I loved it so much I bought a ton of it before it went away & I just HAD to use it for this challenge! I played along again this week with Unscripted Sketches, and a new-to-me challenge, at Just Us Girls (anyone ever seen a guy in one of these challenges? Maybe it IS just us girls...).

Delightful Decorations is a Stampin' Up! set featured in the Holiday Mini. And even better, there's a punch, the Ornament Punch, that goes with it - YAY - no cutting out required! For the funky retro background, I punched out a bunch of small ovals out of different designs of the designer series paper, layed it out in a pattern & trimmed where it hung over the sides of the card. You could do the same with any shape...

Thanks so much for looking,

SIP BY SIP / PPA12 & CCC #29...

I've always been a sucker for anything retro...

Over at Pals Paper Arts this week they have a cool sketch challenge, and I've been wanting to use this awesome set again... so I also paired it with a 'new-to-me" challenge over at Colour Create!

This set is called Sip By Sip, from Stampin' Up! and combines 2 of my fave things, retro & coffee! I used Basic Black, Whisper White, Summer Sun and Real Red. I inked her up with Stazon Jet Black, except for her lips, which I inked with Real Red. I paper pieced her coffee cup with Summer Sun. The dsp is Night & Day Specialty, also SU! ~ I love that black & white houndstooth! The card is finished of with a piece of Summer Sun punched with a Martha Stewart border punch (one of my favorites) and tied with a Real Red grosgrain ribbon bow!

Thanks so much for looking, have a great weekend!

ON A PEDESTAL for ABBY / USSIS#26 & 365C #229...

Bring on the bling!

This is the first time I've done a challenge over at Unscripted Sketches... very elegant sketches & I love how they present them! I paired it with some fab colors from 365 Cards. My niece's birthday is coming up, so I thought these colors would be great for her card! I did rotate the sketch to work better with the stamp set.

The colors are Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Regal Rose, and Very Vanilla. This set from Stampin' Up! is called On a Pedestal... it's SO CUTE!

Have a great night!
