Book week parades have been happening all around the country this week and today was Charlotte's turn. She decided she wanted to go as a pirate which meant I didn't need to do anything as we had most of the things already.
She wore Princess Jasmine's pink pants, because she really wanted to wear those, a Microsoft tshirt I got sent at work that said ARRGH on it, a pink bandana, a hook and sword. I whipped her up a pink eye patch yesterday.
Of course Lucy had to get dressed up too, as did many of the siblings, so she went as a butterfly.
They had a parade after assembly including all the teachers and the kids had a great time, which is all the matters.

Show Loot
Sorry this took a bit longer to post but I was so sick yesterday I spent the whole day either in bed or in the bathroom.
First up Charlotte did the fabric picture canvas workshop with the lovely Cathy from Audrey and Maude. It was a great workshop and even though Charlotte was a little younger than the recommended age she did pretty will with a little help from me. The canvas is now hanging proudly above her bed and she is planning on making one for Lucy for Christmas.
Next up she trotted off with Fi to do the I heart buttons brooch workshop. By all accounts she did a great job and proudly wore her brooch for the rest of the day.
I didn't actually make that many purchases, probably because I spent too much time chatting and meeting bloggy friends. I did buy two Molly Bird panels and some fabric scraps from Kristen
A lovely apple pincushion from Belinda made by Craftapolooza
A some lovely fabric from Amitie
Some bag hardware from Nicole
Justine and Fi were also super generous giving me a Mixtape tote and wristlet pin cushion for helping them out.

Tagged
I've been tagged by Fran. I'm not normally good at these things but I'll give it a go. I have to tell five things that make me feel fabulous/sexy/beautiful. So here goes...
1. My beautiful girls and Mr Snailblazer make me feel fabulous, beautiful and sexy even when I don't feel it.
2. Today I was lucky enough to meet Jodie and Annie, two awesome bloggers who, when they met me screamed like schoolgirls and they just made me feel fabulous.
3. The blogging community. Having spent the last 2 days at the Stitches and Craft the generosity, warmth and friendship shown by many "bloggy" friends in the Incubator was fantastic. I love being part of the community spirit that exists across the country.
4. The woman at Charlotte's swimming who approached me in the change room and said she loved my bag and that she reads my blog made me feel fabulous.
Can't think of number 5 but at least I got this far.
I promise I will blog my crafty purchases tomorrow.
I couldn't have a post without a picture so here's some more of Jodie's great projects

Sewing Cards
I finally got around to making some sewing cards I have been planning for ages. I picked up some damaged vintage Miffy books ages ago and used some parts for different things and then I was talking to Ingrid about them and she said they would make great sewing cards.
I put them away in the cupboard and didn't think about them until I recently picked up a packet of plastic sewing needles, can't even remember where now and immediately thought they would fit the bill. I've mounted the pages on cardstock, punched some holes, tried them out with various threads and am now hoping to pick up some felt at the Stitches and Craft to make envelopes for them. I am planning on 4 in a pack and I have about 4 or 5 sets of Miffy. I've also got some other damaged books that could work.

Handmade Kids
I was lucky enough to be selected for this challenge over at Handmade Kids and this package arrived in the mail yesterday.
It contained some great circle fabric, some fur type fabric, 2 buttons and some ribbon.
Now I just have to get my thinking cap on as to what I am going to make.

Off to the Races
We are going to a function at the races on Saturday and I really needed a small handbag to take along. I decided to make a small clutch/wristlet from some Michael Miller fabric I picked up here on sale.
I lined it with the same fabric and of course it needs an iron before Saturday but I think it will do the job, although it might not be able to hold all my winnings!

I bought this pattern recently and forgot all about it. Then I got a gorgeous parcel of fabric from Pink Chalk (I'll do a post soon about the other things I bought) and it included some lovely linen so I decided to make the tunic for Charlotte. The pattern is great and I made it in a night, including my first ever sleeves but Charlotte won't wear it because it's too scratchy, she won't even try it back on so I can take a photo. I'm hoping a wash might help.We went to Disney On Ice today which was great.
Don't forget the draw you have until midnight
