typical sunday

We had a great time at dinner last night, thank you Lise! It was a very fun environment, a little funky and very posh. It was delicious! I haven't had such great food since our honeymoon cruise.

My delicious appetizer, mussels in a tomato, lime, and cilantro sauce

Today was are just doing the usual Sunday things. Since it is the end of the month we have had home teachers over and will be doing our own home teaching this evening. It should be fun.

one year anniversary

I can't believe we have already been married for a year! Everyone warned us that the first year is the hardest...but it was actually quite wonderful. Even though we made some huge life changes within this year--moving to New York, both entering advanced education programs, trying to decide where we want to work, etc-- the year has flown by. People must mean that the hardest year is the first year of having a baby, because this year was a blast.

To celebrate our one year wedding anniversary we went to the temple last night. We had a beautiful time--it was definitely a special evening. Then to celebrate today, we exchanged gifts with each other.

Fun golf shoes--he will get good use out of them in Ithaca

Pretty earrings to go with my new dress

Right now Sky is at school preparing for finals and I am going to start homework. But this evening we are going to
Pangea for dinner--a fancy restaurant that my friend, Lise, gave us a gift card for. We are really excited that we have enjoyed our first year of marriage and we look forward to enjoying every year!

sick day but good day

I woke up with a horrible migraine this morning, which isn't terribly common for me anymore. But luckily I have been blessed with a wonderful husband who can understand when I really need to take a break. So, when we got to my work Skyler told me to stop in to make sure everything was ok, and then let them know that I was nauseated and had a migraine. So, instead of going to work with 10 screaming children for my normal three hours, Skyler took me to breakfast (so I could take medicine) at the cutest cafe in Ithaca, Hope's Way. I had the most delicious breakfast, an English muffin with cream cheese and a slice of tomato on each half. It is my new favorite, so I will have to treat myself once in a while when tomatoes are in season.

It was nice to have quiet time together. Though I felt crummy the entire time, I was able to take my mind off of the throbbing a bit and let the medicine do its job. I feel much better now but I will continue resting throughout the day, then at 6 we are going to the temple. I am really grateful that Skyler will let me take a break, even when I am trying to be stubborn and won't let myself.

What a cute little place, very intimate environment, just a place to sit and chat while enjoying a nice healthy meal.

keeping in contact

I have been hearing a lot about blogs lately and think it might be a good way to keep in contact with our family & friends. We are loving Ithaca and think that is a great place for us to learn and grow as we set the foundation for our family.

We love you all...keep checking back for updates.
