Thanksgiving Break!

Hello friends! I have not written anything for a while, so I thought I would take a few minutes to enlighten you. It is Thanksgiving break, which I am so glad for. I just got done with my ballet company's performance last weekend and my body is very ready for the break. I'm just about to go see New Moon with Whit and go to In and Out to see what all the hype is about. Hopefully I will not want to kill Bella by the end of the movie.

Tanner went on a roadtrip to Texas and won't be back until Sunday or Monday...I miss him! But I hope he will have a good trip. :)

I don't have much to say, but thanks for reading! I'll try to put something more exciting on here soon!

MJ The King Of Pop

I got to go see the move This Is It last night. It was kind of long and weird, but it was still good. After watching the movie, it made me realize how much of a creative genius Michael Jackson was. I know that you MJ haters are thinking I'm crazy, but he was. Okay? Yes, he did get really messed up over the years, but looking back at his older stuff...I mean come on...the man had some serious dance moves. Now I'm in Michael Jackson mode and wanted to post some of my favorite videos of him on here. :)

Oh, and did you know that Michael Jackson was the first person to create a music video with dancing in it? That's right. You have him to thank. So don't hate, appreciate.

Happy Halloween!!!!

In honor of this Halloween day, I thought I would post my favorite scary movie! Wait Until Dark! I love it. Mostly because it has Audrey Hepburn in it, but it is still really good. Anyway, Enjoy it. I hope you don't get too scared.....muah hahahahahahaha!

Gravity

I haven't really been an avid watcher of the show So You Think You Can Dance, but my friend Megan had me watch this clip from last season and I fell in love with it immediately! It gave me goosebumps and sent chills up my spine. She performs it so well. Her emotion is so organic and real. It was just the kind of emotion I had been feeling and wanted to see. So perfect :) It's to one of my new favorite songs Gravity by Sara Barielles, which makes me love it even more. Anyway, here it is!

Power

You are powerful.

Listen to these words. You are powerful.

Think about it for a second. I mean really think about it.

In my ballet class we have been talking about Taoist athletes and the different ways they deal with emotional/psychological effects that occur in different types of sports (in my case dancing, but that's beside the point). To kind of sum up the way they think as opposed to other athletes, they have a healthy way of looking at competition and have the courage to risk failure. There is a lot more to it than that actually, but it would take really long to get into all of it. Anyway, what I'm really trying to get at, is, they use positive thinking and visualization to improve their performance. They use words of positive affirmation to help them when things get tough.

So...In my ballet class we had a discussion and came up with our own affirmations like "You are an awesome jumper" or "I love left Pirouettes" (even though everyone knows left pirouettes suck). But the most important one we came up with was this. You are powerful.

You
have the power to create your own life.
You have the power to influence others.
You have the power to learn and make mistakes.
You have the power to love with no regrets.
You have the power to change unpleasant circumstances.
You have the power to control your thoughts.
You have the power to dream.
You have the power to lend support to someone in need.
You have the power to say no.
You have the power to learn and grow.

We do we let ourselves live in fear? Why do we hold back our talents in fear that we will shine too bright? Why do we let outside influences control our inner emotions? We are the ones in control. We have the power. You are Powerful!

Pictures!

I have been a blogging slacker lately, and I'm not going to lie, It probably won't get much better. But anyway, life has been good. I've been dating this wonderful man named Tanner. He is pretty much amazing, and makes me smile even when he drops me in wet grass. :) He asked me what it would take for him to get onto my blog, so I think I should be expecting a back rub here pretty soon...ha ha just joking...kind of.

Anyway, Fall semester starts next week and I am so excited to be dancing again! I think it will be a great year, and I'm just ready for it to start. I have had this week with no work or school so I have had a lot free time. I found this picture editing website and I had a lot of fun with it yesterday. :)

Little Ballerinas

I finally found a job teaching ballet! Well it actually kind of just fell in my lap, but I am so excited about it. A girl in my ballet class had to quit her teaching job because she has a little baby and needs to spend more time with her family. Anyway, she recommended me to the studio owner and I got a call from her today! It's for a small studio called Creative Dance Academy. I will only be teaching 4 classes a week because of my insane school schedule next semester, but I think it will be really great! I'll get to choreograph my own stuff on them and pick out costumes and everything! It's for a modern based studio so she said that for the ballet classes I pretty much get to do whatever I want and create my own curriculum for them. I'm just really happy that I get this opportunity!!! The classes start in the fall and I can't wait!
