Gone Gold Fishin'

Our dear sweet Rorey is turning one tomorrow! I still haven't gotten over the shock, that we are already at age 1! This year flew by and no offense to Dallen, but it was much easier this second time around. Rorey is always mellow and joyful as you see in commercials or movies. We have actually questioned our Dr. if he is normal because he is never whining. We got super lucky with him, and even though I thought I would regret it, I am grateful that Dallen is 4 and not 2 or 3. He is an amazing help to his brother, and I think the two already would be lost without each other. They have hardwired each others good and bad buttons. I love watching the two of them play and learn together.

Some of Rorey's current favorite things are:
Comfort - Blankie of course
Food - Noodles
Toy - Anything Dallen is playing with
Time of Day - Bathtime & Storytime
Bath Toy - Bowl & Spoon to feed himself with (nasty I know!)
Person - Daddy
Clothes - Pants (to squirm out of!)
Word - NaNa (for "food" but not bananas)

He still has yet to find his legs, but he is one of the fastest crawlers I have seen! Hopefully he will be walking soon. He also hasn't said anything but baby babble with the usual mama and dada. All in all he is right on track for growing strong. He is in the 98% percentile for his height, go Smith genes! For those who don't understand the baby stats, that means that 97% of all children documented are shorter.

Happy 1st Birthday to my squishy bear!

4th of July on the Fly

Our 4th was a complete blast! We woke up early and took the kids down to the parade in Provo. We met Marshall and Kiramey a few blocks away from the route. We got a great little spot at the end of the route, and enjoyed seeing all the bands, floats and other entries. We crossed the street and mozied around to the various booths. After a couple hours baking in the heat, we decided to head over to Sonic in PG to say hi to Richard who got stuck working. Afterwards we all crashed back at our house with Hot Dogs and Wrath of the Titans. As evening approached so did Dallen's excitement for FIREWORKS! Daves Mom was gracious to invite us all to the Stadium of Fire. We got a great parking spot and made it just on time. We loved the show! This year they featured Scotty McCreey and the Beach Boys. Alex Boye was also included in the program. It was so cool to see all these performers together. The kids did surprisingly well for being in a sardine can. Rorey made it through the entire program with hardly a fuss. Finally came the spectacular fireworks show. It almost brought me to tears watching and listening to the music being sung. Such an amazing experience! We had such a laid back fun day, and can't wait for next year.
