Ewww gross...

Thursday  night (a couple weeks ago) i left the chicken's waterer (a glass picture) outside on accident. I usually bring in the picture so I can just fill it up and take it out but I had to search for it and found it outside... So Friday morning when I usually go out...They were starving and very thirsty.  So I was trying to get inside fast and tripped on my wide pajama bottoms on the cement stairs, shattering the glass picture on the top of the stairs.  I caught myself in the middle of all the splintered glass.  I stood up to go inside and fill (now nothing...) up with water but as soon as I left the area of the glass the chickens wanted to eat and step all over the glass...The crash of the glass lured the chickens over to see what good there was to eat.  I was in a quandary...I couldn't leave the chickens because they were going to to cut themselves or kill themselves by eating it.  But if I hurried and got them water they would be distracted from the glass and I could clean it up.  I decided I needed help...my very last choice...but I didn't want the chickens to be hurt.  I called for Brian who was asleep and he helped get them some water...Then we cleaned up the glass and cleaned my wound.  I was doing just fine until i watched him try to grab a piece of glass with tweezers from a cut in my hand.  I said...I'm not doing so hot now and he said...I know...and grabbed me a chair to sit on.  Then he said those ominous words..."You need stitches"  I was like naaaaw...we can just close it with some butterfly stitches... We finally ended up at a dr. office (I refused to go to the er) where he put 6 stitches in my hand/wrist.  Brian also decided to disclose the fact that when I broke the picture..not only did I land on the cut glass I landed in chicken poops...so I needed ANOTHER needle inserted into my body...with a tetanus shot.  The shot itself was just fine but the next day that was what was so painful and sore, not my hand.   So thanks to Brian...I had an eventful Friday morning...and something fun to share with the boys.

Boys on mission blessing:
I could have easily cut lower or deeper or worse yet a finger sliced off  Or anywhere else on my body.  But I did not and I was not in any pain.  The last part could be attributed to the fact that I am as strong as an ox....yes an ox that trips.

Update:  I needed to have 6 stitches for 10 days and return to get the stitches out.  I decided that my friend was just as capable as a doctor to cut some string and pull the string out of my hand.  Hero Heidi.

The final product.
