Happy 40 something honey!!
Today is Brian's birthday!! He's actually with his brother, Jens and Christian watching a falconry show. So we went out to celebrate yesterday...we went to a movie (his usual friday activity but he usually goes by himself because I get sick or fall asleep during the movies) and this time I went with him (and didn't fall asleep or get too sick/dizzy), then we went to Red Lobster and had a yummy early dinner....and those oh so yummy cheddar bay biscuits.
Eating leaves and strawberries
Jessica asked Christian to the Valentine's Dance. She came over to decorate his room. (all together....ahhhhhhhh)...that's right he did a major tornado pick up. Actually you can't really see the closets are stuffed full. She made these cute little streamers for his doorway.

Here she decorated his bed with words on hearts, asking him to the dance.
CHRISTIAN'S ANSWER:
Here is his answer. He copied the way Kimberly answered Jens for prom. It took us forever! to figure it out, but not Jessica, she got it right away. He made the dough all by himself. I wasn't even home to help...and the best part...he knew to take a picture of it.

My friend just told me about something that she wrote down from a talk in her ward about being judgemental. You can read President Monson's whole talk.
A young couple, Lisa and John, moved into a new neighborhood. One morning while they were eating breakfast, Lisa looked out the window and watched her next-door neighbor hanging out her wash.
"That laundry's not clean!" Lisa exclaimed. "Our neighbor doesn't know how to get clothes clean!"
John looked on but remained silent.
Every time her neighbor would hang her wash to dry, Lisa would make the same comments.
A few weeks later Lisa was surprised to glance out the window and see nice, clean wash hanging in her neighbor's yard. She said to her husband, "Look, John-she's finally learned how to wash correctly! I wonder how she did it?"
John replied, "Well, dear, I have the answer for you. You'll be interested to know that I got up early this morning and washed our windows!"

In honor of my 100th post...100 things about me....

Christian's Eagle Court of Honor
This court of honor was very nice. I loved that the eagle guy had two birdies this time that we could touch and hold. (at least Christian) and that Brother Blackhurst shared some personal stories of Christian. It was very touching (the very reason I wanted him, he's such an inspirational speaker!) He did such a wonderful job despite him being nervous being his first eagle court of honor conducting. You'd NEVER have known that...He did sooo good!!
So many people came to support Christian. We had about 60 chairs set up to begin with and I worried that that was too many and that maybe we should take some down. But we ended up having to set up about 40-50 more chairs behind them. Such great support.
I had so many friends offer to bring treats. That's one thing I didn't want to have to worry about bringing. Thank you to Phyllis-raspberry braids, Heidi-bars, Kristina-cute little eagles, Jalyn-donuts (Christian's favorite), Karen-butterscotch cookies.
The other thing that was really special was the cub scout doing the flag ceremony. It was well rehearsed and soooo cute. It was sooo cute seeing those little boys trying to carry the big heavy flags all the way down the gym to the end to post the colors. Garrett did such a fine job memorizing what to say too! Awesome!
Here are some pictures of the wonderful night. (thanks to Ty for taking pictures, another thing I didn't have to worry about!)
Eagle Nest with Mike, Bishop Rosen, Nate, Randy, Jens, Brother Atkinson, and newly awarded Christian.
Ben Woodruff with Skymaster demonstrating here with Maddie the hawk. The legal birdie that Christian can touch and hold. It is illegal to touch the eagle.
Here is Holly, the golden eagle.

Brother Blackhurst and Christian...one of my favorite pics.
