Happy New Year Comments - DazzleJunction.com

hope tmr will be a good day!

went blog hopping just now to wish everyone on my blog darlinks a happy new year
and i came across blogs which made me eager to blog now

firstly,
mei wan's blog. she post about reflection of 2007 on the whole
well, i think i should do this too
secondly,
sixuan's blog. she post about those friends who impacted her greatly
yes. i made real good friends this year indeed
despite once i feel so lost and depressed..

well 2007 is indeed a fulfilling, busy and 辛苦 year for me
but at the same time: happy!!

during the start of 2007
i bid farewell to hillgrove, a place which give me much honour but at the same time
much 不愉快的事情
and enter pioneer junior college
the school which i so much want to enter
and i made good friends
i got to know people in my squad 3
with both very gd ogls

next up i got into 07s12
a very fun class
yes.. all of us spoke chinese
i got to know 2 best friends.
xin yu and asta both from bukit view
and fun pple like chaur ann, bao xian, jian shen, wing kiong, jian lin and enrui
and also lots more.. girls like li wee, bei lin, xiang na....
not forgetting yanting, li hui, hsing yen... the high ones.

cuz we knew good teachers like mr gerrard ng and 陈晓红 老师 who bonded our class together
also our class mascot: the zhu zai!
our class 口头谭: du di bong gang du (你是笨蛋猪)and na kut yan (我很"显")

also i very much wanted to enter SCAP.
let me find a picture (couldnt find any )
the only picture from o1 BBQ portal

i was posted to the Song Director in SCAP EspiritCo
thats where we started practising songs and dances
and also to Friendship Day Comm.
是我自己输给压力
cuz i keep thinking i didnt do a good job in singing well
that led me to ponder about my decision in SCAP and also PJC
also i didnt do well in studies and sports too during PAE
so this led me to choosing another jc after i got my o lvls results

yup.. and one more thing which makes me happy is about my o lvls
i was worried for my l1r5 cuz i knew i din make it for my combined humans
but who knows!
i top my class..
got a 10 and 6 distinctions!

so in the end i made the right choice even after admitted to jj
i chose pj and went back
well thinking abt that makes me feel emo right now..

and i thank all pple who welcome me back..
luckily i was given this chance again
and i will nv nv regret pj as my first choice in PAE..
cuz this few months made worthwhile and made me choose my path correctly..
thanks for all that i have been a SCAPPER and a student of 07s12

well next i was posted to 07s26 because of my late submission of subj combi..
thanks to ying wen and friends who willing to swop with me eugene and mel...
luckily
if not i think the guys wont be so happy with eugene around rite??
说了这么多
of course must thank our VP la!!!

so i ended up in 07s25 with our fellow s12 peeps again!
yanting, asta, wingkiong, jianlin
and shiyun joined us later from AC

next up was being assigned to PJ153
with yanting janice weiwen and eugene
and walt disney was the one that joined us tgt!
we had lotsa fun and laughter at yanting's house
and our group bonded much during this period of time
such a memorable period..

but as we were really busy with our pw and sch stuff
i had gastric problems
so that makes 2007 a 辛苦 year for me cuz i had to take extra care for my health

i forgot to add,
that i was given a chance to get in sirius tgt with many other fellow s12 peeps
and people i knew from other classes
and we really have lotsa fun tgt
peeps like ying wen and friends
chaur ann, charlie, dong tai, s19 de ren,
in events like YMCA, we love we care concert usher for the aged, temsem (even though i'm not involved), mp attachment, arts day, CSI!!!, cluster mentoring
and project agape 2

then after promos..
i had a great great birthday with my 2 besties
that was the bestest birthday i had throughout my 17 years of life...
cuz back then i have nv celebrated my birthday with my friends at all
also, people tend to forgot my bd cuz it's exam period..

nv ever i had celebrated my birthday @ Genting!

and also this is the year that i spent so much time with my friends
and we had class outings, class bridging times..

and also recently i have had a good experience working at YMCA
and also given me a chance to experience how is it like in INDIA
yes.. i have gone to another country again!

and recently we just had ogl camp..
and orientation is starting just tmr!
i bet it'll be a fun time for me and for u guys:)

People who had impacted me in the year 2007:

of course,
they are the two who have impacted me throughout my 17 years and 90 days of life.
after i was really sick around March.
be it physically or emotionally sick...
she have given me so much of encouragement
and also so suay that my air con was down
she allow me to sleep with her in her room
so initially i thought i must go back to my room after i've recovered
but nevertheless my father allow me to sleep there
for around 7 months already!!!
for this year, i think i have been busy and weak
but she nv scold me for times be it i came home late in the night...
she is a loud person who will scold me if i have done something wrong
but with much of her understandings, i managed to escape those scoldings..
and continue to cook really nice dishes for me...
because i'm still a "cute little girl" by her side...
she too agree that i'm much happier this yr as compared to my last 4 years in sec sch

next my father: a naughty boy in my eyes
hee hee... i often called him this nick name as compared to calling him "daddy"
even blanjah us a genting trip..
took great care of me when my mother is away for around a month in Malaysia
i think we bonded quite alot this year..
cuz i think we got more topics to chat about this year
what a cute little couple and of cuz a cute little daughter!!!!!!!!

ASTA

first i met her at my bus stop where i got up 985 every morning
my first impression of her was
a loud girl (ya indeed she's loud)
and those playful playful wan (and indeed she is) haha but then.. i shall mention sth later

so the first time i interacted with her was during queueing up to our PAE class 07s12
so coincidently she's my classmate
and together me xinyu and asta were tgt most of the time during lectures
and this girl always ask me " jia xin, i don understand. how to do arh?"
and so i will 乖乖 teach her

oh yes. i said i wanna mention sth
she is indeed playful.
but then she more hardworking than anyone of us lor
she go bowling also bring her math things along...
in the mrt both of us standing in the middle of the cabin
she also took out her maths to ask me

and she was the one who persuaded me to stay in pj..
yes in the end i came back
the first girl to welcome me back with her warm open arms
heehee...
i was so touched
and touched also by her sweet note that she had given me on the last day of PAE
also, she was the girl who bonded s12 together i believe???
so since i came back to s25...
we cont to be great friends...
take 985 back tgt

AND OF COURSE GO GENTING TOGETHER!

we realised we were born in OCTOBER
and we are LIBRAN!!!
both of us were the only people living in BUKIT BATOK
and both of us were in COUNCIL and CHOIR in sec sch
both of our sec schs have the meaning of HILL
both of us love the song 他和她的故事
also initially both of us WEIGH the same but now i grew fatter la
ah yes, both of us got 11 for prelims and 10 for o lvls.
well im trying to crap some similarities out
this one is really kinda lame: both of us have CUTE and FUNNY FATHERS
most imptly, both of us are LAME!!!!

thank you for everything u have given me
be it encouragement and wonderful times!!
thanks for ur sweetest x'mas gift to me...
i feel so blessed to have u such a nice friend...

the reason why i put asta first cuz i knew her first in PJ

YANTING

we were close only after JAE when i wanted to appeal back to pj
and this cute girl over here helped me really alot
be it the appeal, o2, econs and stuff
i appreciated ur help alot... and alot...
and tgt we were in the same pw group
both of times had wonderful times gossipping with each other
and also 谈心

never have i chatted so long at a friend's room

we spent most times tgt as well....
and also cuz of walt disney
i was given the title of DONALD DUCK and
she MICKEY MOUSE
she loves mickey more than i do...
she can wear mickey from top to bottom, inside to outside
haha... and carry mickey things..
也就是说,她和mickey形影不离
i will think of her when i saw mickey
esp in malaysia,
there are resemblance of mickey all around

even the card she gave me was a picture of mickey as well
thanks for spending so much time on it....

and also for the past few months for the care from u and ur mum...
when we are in ur house..
ur mum is the friendliest mum i've ever met!

sometimes i feel that u resemble my mum alot..
nagging at my hairstyle.. haha...
my socks..
saying how greedy and hungry i am all the time..
well.. thanks for all ur nags!!!

u ah: keep commenting that u are short
no wonder people call u 小妹妹
to that guy over there who keeps calling her 小妹妹
she's the oldest in class k???
大姐大 in our class ....

well. after 4 years, i knew what a true friend is like ba...
and also knew how is it like to have a true friend...

XINYU
my locker mate!
she is the first who approach me and talk to me during pae
and will accompany me during lectures and tutorials
when i don really have much friends around me

and also thanks for ur care u have given me
be it in s12 or during india trip
u are really a nice and kind hearted friend=)
without u and star,
i think my life in pj would be blank..

good luck for ur As k???

WEIWEN

my nick DONALD DUCK was coined by him...
and so coincidentally we were in the same og for o2
and same pw grp too

wait a min, does he impacted my life??
well, perhaps in a negative way.. haha
he nv fails to irritate me , calling me DD all the time
but well, he still entertains us with his sotong stories of his own
oh ya, a real fanatic of liverpool
CANT STAND IT
haha...

and yes , i found similarities between him and not me, but my father
both of them are BLUR
LAZY and LIKE TO SLEEP wherever they go
SHORTER than 170cm
SOCCER fans. (but too bad support different teams)
LIKES to TRAVEL
ALWAYS asking me to PUSH my specs up
ALWAYS CRITICISE my shallow level of GEOG
TYPE very SLOWLY
LOVE reading the NEWPAPER
DOESNT LIKE to wear a watch
but overall, BOTH of their characters are NICE!
he is a nice guy indeed...

thanks for everything=)
well, please stop slacking and work hard for As

SHIYUN

this girl forever not looking at the camera when taking photo
see whaat i mmean?

i don really know her that well in PAE cuz im not close to her...
but then after that when she come back from AC
and recently i find her a very LAME GIRL ya???
even LAME-r than us...
fun to be with her...
and u will get as crazy as her!!!
haha
clever girl..
7 pointer leh....
i think i will gotta know more abt her this year!!!

WEIQI

at the beginning of the year
since we are of different cliques..
and also don really get close to her...
but recently since i found out that she is a good friend as well!!
especially when we started gossiping .. hee hee
加油

i forgot to add about these two people

EUGENE
CHICKEN KING

his picture arh..
mouth always nv close wan

but thanks to this guy who swop class tgt with me..
i believe he will be much more happier in this class rite?
without eugene,
i bet s25 also has no life..
this happy go lucky man nv fail to cheer me up
when im stress
or not feeling well
during pw and other things as well
i think he is the most caring guy in our class ba
thanks for all ur concern u have given me
especially for those little sms-es.
asking me whether i have reached home or not.
thanks:)

JANICE
our cute lovely and pretty photographer...
anyway we so fated to be in the same chinese group
and PW group....
but no one remembers the chinese group la
this girl
same like eugene
also very caring!!!
everytime ask me
how am i ??? how's my gastric
also everytime ask me take care
don skip my meals
so touched!!
great to have u as our class mate
love u minnie mouse=)

i love u guys.. and also peeps from 07s25!!!!!!!!

let us 加油 for our As together!!

heres my favourite song 专属天使
dedicated to u all
没有谁能把你抢离我身旁
你是我的专属天使
为我能独占。。

hey i will be busy tmr finishing what i have to do for the year 2007
so i guess i wont have time to blog tmr

so i shall write down my new year resolutions for the year 2008:
since its 2008, i shall write down 8 resolutions

1) focus and study hard for my A levels
2) forget all the unhappy past and things that makes me feel uncomfortable and put them behind me
3) try not to 赖床 ( i am a good sleeper ya?)
4) more outspoken
5) bond well with the class
6) try finish reading all my times mag
7) stay healthy
8) have an enjoyable 2008!

o1 is coming up
and it's my year's first event
i just hope some people out there wont just ruin my mood and spoil the fun during orientation
and i hope everything goes well esp the dance which i am not inclined in
and also hope beta will be a fun clan
otherwise it wont be a good start for 2008

yup thats all

25 December 2007

MERRY X'MAS everyone!

had a gathering for brunch in the morning
everyone was late
which makes me frustrated
that i went up to popular to shop for stuff

ate at mayim

and my malaysia relatives came!!!

had a great time with them!

well, it has been days i spent with my family members
and i heard many many misunderstandings..
conflicts..
pisses...
i think i have grown up
perhaps emotionally
to understand what is happening around me
last time i used to hear much of this sayings
but don really put in to heart and care abt it
now as i listen to my mum talk abt family
my tears would somehow roll in my eyes..

i finally understand what it means by
家家有本难念的经

i shouldnt ask: why am i born in such a family?
i should ask: what am i going to do about it?
actually everytime i hear abt such things again
i will more and more appreciate my family well
cuz i have the love and care showered by my parents
and also freedom
i should lead a happy and meaningful life of a purpose

24 December 2007

it's METRO CIP at Orchard Road Paragon today
of cuz,
it's Christmas Eve!

met asta and we went to orchard tgt
walked around orchard to find her adidas bag
from heerens to cine and back and forth again

then to our working place
though it is very "lively" and noisy there with ah wen's voice
but then i don think the response was good leh
so i took over mel to be the cameraman
at first i din take good photos
but then i improve and yey!
got $140 over dollars donated.
i can proudly say: i did a good deed!

but then this "aunty" make a fuss in the public
when i approached her and saw photography is not allowed unless with donation
then she told me off:" you are from pjc and not from metro. so what. u shouldnt stop us from taking photos wad"
so rude lor
i am just a student
u leh
act til so high class for wad
scolding a student in the public
i think ur husband must be feeling ashamed so he pull u off
in front of ur children
so embarrassing in front of children to scold me off
yes i am not from metro but i am just going according to the rules
luckily the metro security guard was there

me too feeling ashamed that there are these kind of people around in singapore
at least people from other countries here for christmas holidays are even better

another one: i din experience the whole situation since i just arrive
the aunty kept looking at us with her "fierce sharp" eyes when we ask her to leave
when she started pulling the christmas deco off from our christmas tree
purposely wan lor

well i just hope such incidents will not spoil the reputation of our school
i will say somehow partly my fault
but what can we do?

other than these,
i had a great time there

my cousin and aunt came down!!

i forgot the take my 2 photos back!!
uggg
心痛
will post them once i've scan the photos from somebody else

look at the orange balloon im wearing
it keeps knocking the little door of the metro fair
and i made one of the metro staff there laugh
what a joke..
so i stop wearing

anyway
i entertain many adults and children
in some way or another
which make me feel happy!

after that i went dinner with weiqi
but asta yanting shiyun weiqi and me were walking to taka
and i learnt a lesson:
nv go to orchard during christmas
suuuuuuuuuupppperrr squeezy
and i almost become roottti prraaatttaaa

we parted at taka
and so me and weiqi went for dinner at mos burger
since i got the 7 bucks allowance
i spent it all with the meal
quite nice actually
so me and weiqi chatted and gossip alot alot for more than 2 hours
including the journey on the bus

it has been ages since i chatted so long with a friend
got la.. with yanting at her house on the last day of school

i am so glad to be accepted and well like by them
people around me now.. and i feel so blessed here
that friends do care about me. listen to me. respect me. help me along
it has given me a chance to appreciate what i have
and to enjoy every essence of life and love
that i have missed for my past 4 years
thanks everyone!
i appreciate each and every one of u
that appear in my life throughout the year 2007

OGL camp 17 to 19 December 2007

11 of our class peeps went for ogl camp

i was assigned to the clan BETA

by the way
next year's theme for orientation 1 2008 is 01 infinty

so the 6 clans are:
1) Alpha
2) Beta
3) Delta
4) Gamma
5) Sigma
6) Tetha

so i am in Beta tgt with jian lin..

yanting and karen - Tetha
dex-star and peiqi- sigma
shaun - alpha
eugene and mel - delta
ww - gamma

and we are quite separated
so sad
i thot we can be all tgt

had mass and fun dance
so far i like this session alot cuz it's the one i had most confidence in
songs and cheers also not bad
clan time quite unproductive cuz we cant think of anything good like cheers
oh ya
haven introduce my clan mates
clanmaster - Andy
asst clanmaster - janice
SC attached - priscilla, jian lin, qiao er, timothy
og 6 - me and tun jiang
cant remember which og they are in
jazmine, weijie, yue li, suat fong, hafiz, caleb, cindy, yana

the part where i suffer most is the clan dance cuz i suck at dancing hip hop
i like sigma's dance!!!
del-pha wan also not bad

just that a part i don like abt ogl camp is:
secret
i guess only s25 peeps know bah...
TAYYA

maybe that can bond the class tgt.

this is the vanguard i have done!!!

here are some of the songs of those clan dances i enjoy seeing:
and also the theme song!

16 November 2007

it's my mum's friend's daughter wedding today!

guess what
i wore this for my sec sch grad night

the bride is super high ...
talk til very loud and enthusiastic de haha
quite a unique bride ya
and i miss my star awards show
and my father miss his favourite soccer match
ogl camp tmr...
quite looking forward to it cuz almost half the class going...

few days back me yanting and weiwen went bugis street
was squeezy there
bought a top for 10 bucks
and we were at this secret quiet place
as according to him
good view
can see sunset

13 December 2007

had to go back to school today for an India trip meeting
while after that i have a YRC interview at BP

so meanwhile i was bored
met ww for lunch
what excites me is i met NG LI on my way to the lunch
and we chatter for a while
donno why i feel excited to meet a friend on streets

ww told me what happen when all girls left for chalet
"all guys night"

底裤超人
pioneer rock
push up
yes i have heard about it

and who say we girls wont enthu???
no lor...
guys also din do a part to bond with us ....
quite "pissed" to hear that from ww....

i have to speak up for girls
im not sexist okay
haha
this is just a rant

was late for the meeting

got a shock when i enter the house
full of wu long wu shi's props and everything
and the people are friends of pioneers
though they are not like people like us who go thru normal school life and all that
but i can see the hardwork they put in for wu shi
and also their family...
not forgetting the loyalty to friends and masters they have
they are friendly bunch

and we learnt alot about wu shi
shall not mention here
and also interesting stories of their encounter

maybe i can post some pictures...

11 December 2007 Class chalet

went early to NUH with a big bag

and one great thing to celebrate about is
i dont have to go back for consultation again!!!
yey!!

join them for chalet
haiyo... the place so messy and dirty
worse than my room haha

so bored..
everyone is playing their own thing
some sleeping
some playing the ps
some playing bridge
some staring into blank space
yes im one of them

then bbq le also nv jio me
haha.. no la.. i went late ma

bored chalet i've been to
thinking of staying overnight
but then 算了
还是回家比较好

chatted with yanting in her suffocating van for a long while
thanks for the ride!

well i just hope that we can bond more lor...
yup thats it

3 December 2007 to 10 December 2007

i'm off to malaysia!
some pictures?
can u see my cousin
this is the malaysia's "MRT" KTM commuter (not computer hor)

we went seremban by train then up to KL by commuter first
to my cousin's house where my grandma is staying right now...

then after that we came down by commuter to seremban
then to tampin by bus
look at how squeezy the bus is!!
yea.. i know my legs are fat....

my cousin is just behind the open doors..
chilled by the wind already
they always forgot to close the doors de
but vey windy la haha

hey one great thing abt buses in malaysia is that the bus driver will wait for u even if u are chasing after the bus miles away from the bus stop
in singapore, bus drivers don really care cuz people are also rushing in time

everyday eat good food..
asam laksa!!!!!!!
kaka's fried rice...
my cousin's 3 cute cats are interesting!
showing u the cute cats she have!

look at the master piece by my cousin and me!
my cousin trim the lemon grass
while i make the heart shape
all my father's 搜主义!

i took this picture on the train way back to singapore
serious flood around segemat..

i miss my frens in singapore
my father keeps irritating me about the soccer match...
keep asking me to us "somebody" about the scores
til the rest of my family members are irritated
reach singapore at around 430...
wanna go chalet but i have a appointment with NUH

Sunday, December 23, 2007

30 November 2007

hey im back from India!!

so the first thing i do when i am back is to go online.
nobody blogs.
so i went to our school's portal to see
erh... i saw a icon which says "jc2 class list"
i click on it
and surprise to found out that those who appealed for 4h2 were all successful!
except for peiqi and caleb who left us next year...
so we only have 26 people left le

but 07s25 spirit remains!

i met up with yanting today with her cute brother for a movie "enchanted"
actually we wanna go Sentosa but then nobody wanna join us and its also kinda stupid to go sentosa with just the 3 of us
and also i don have much time to catch up with my frens as they are busy with Standard Chartered Marathon
and i have to go overseas again

enchanted is really a nice movie!!!
it is very fairy tale to reality
i believe that is Walt's style..
from dreamland to reality...
of cuz.. Walt Disney rocks !!
i love all the songs.. especially with the surround sound system in the cinema

had a great time with a friend~!

A Trip to New Delhi - Visions of Bewildering Diversity

22 November to 28 November.

theres a slideshow of all the pictures
all uploaded at photobucket...

perhaps theres some information of india that i wanna type here
let me take out my notebook..

at the airport before departing

we reach the airport at night
and took us 5+ hours to reach the hotel Mandawa..
so we reach the hotel to rest at 5.30 plus singapore time..
btw, singapore is faster than india by 2 and a half hours.

i should just write down what i have in my notebook and my own reflections.

we start india off at day 2.

Day 2 @ Mandawa

what the tour guide, mr chez say and what i observed:

1) there are cows blocking vehicles. cows are sacred to the country and drivers could not run then down. therefore, they have to press their honks everytime which makes us feel very VeRy VERY irritated at first. because when i hear honks be it malaysia or singapore, i get very tensed up cuz i will think there is going to be an accident approaching...

2) the climate in india:
- smog
- mist
- fog..
i'm still awake while others are sleeping already..
plateaus are common on elevated regions such as Northern and Central India. temp is lower.

pictures of hotel mandawa (i love this hotel.. the best one )

second floor bed!

staircase to second floor bed

our key .. so special rite? got bell de

Journey on the bus and on Mandawa Streets

there are gods
1) Krishnan - God of Wealth
2) Balakrishnan - couldnt catch what the tour guide is mentioning

get the architecture and paintings??

there are pillars supporting the upper area

2.5 to 3 feet thick walls
why?
- coldness cannot enter
- heat cant go out
keep warm and cold
this are called walls of Haveli

some resemblances of the paintings done:
rank of importance
1) king - will always be centre or back to provide the support
2) camels
3) horses
4) soldiers - fight/ bravery

photo taken random for yanting

stray dogs are so common in india!

this is a video of herds of sheep taken while i was on the bus
so cute and marvellous!

Some general knowledge from tour guide:

in the past: deserts
now: plantations and trees around india
therefore, there are semidesert areas, access to water started when people started to stay there

remote villages: very good telecom facilities, inter and mobile
Selone (govt facilities, just like Singtel in singapore)

people can communicate around very fast in around 2 to 3 years time when fibre optique cables are laid, broadband and banking are developed.

we went to an antique shop
people from Europe collect antiques at a very good price at Eu mkt
outside theres a man welcoming us with a song played with his instrument common in india, Raman (means instrument ) Uatha (means hand)
he sang us a song with the story:
deeply in love,
girlfriend: right now, i'm at well, drink water. i'm married with another man (forced to)

next we went to Joshi middle school ( some sort of village primary school in india)

GK again:
primary -> middle -> high -> higher secondary -> university
thats how the education system in india go

Joshi Middle School was established 140 years ago
the current principal is of the 6th generation, Mr. Bajanla Joshi
Sendira Joshi bought this land (great great great grandson)
1952 recognised again by British
there are trees and cooling environment, with birds chirping
fully subsidized by govt

pleasant kids!

in the afternoon

we went to Dundlod Public School

mistakes are the stepping tones, not the stopping stones
interesting rite?
these are done by the students to kickstart their day at school

They have similar facilities like us
Music room, science labs

some kids performing… so cute!

I love the math lesson!
They are learning differentiation, the teacher is so cool!
I like the accent, and he doesn’t need books to teach..
So interesting!

look at their complicated detailed periodic table!
看了你都怕!

I love this quote by the principal about the kids ( he is the man wearing orange)
“They should not know that they are learning, but in fact, they are learning”.

Isn’t this quite true? Singapore students study for the sake of exams and exams and stress ourselves out without enjoying the sweet process of learning

An interesting physics teacher ask us, “ how do you define time?”
Haha time 就是时间lor! Got definition want meh?
And students learn computer and programming language as a subject
Donno what C plus plus language
How I wish we can learn in Singapore despite the freedom to choose the subjects though we have computing in JC
At least I can be more IT savvy abit hor yanting?

They do go for CCA too and they have to study during Saturdays

There is this place where we went to observe an Indian wedding ceremony.
I don’t know the name, maybe I overheard the tourguide or din catch it.
This is really nice.
I wanted the person to put the red dot on me.. so I purposely stand in front of him but he didn’t put. Hai…
Heres a photo of xinyu..

And then the meal there was all curry. I donno know how to eat lor…
But the utensils are made of leaves. I should have kop one of them back lor. Stupid me

We took a manual ferris wheel on ride.
Those ferris wheel most of u have taken before is operated by electricity, but then this is operated by manual.
I show u the photo once I have it.
Quite exciting.
Jazmine kept shouting, “oh my god!” (errr.. haha)

Ok sidetracking
Time for geography lesson in India…

6 types of land
1) flat land (common in Southern India – Indian ocean for agriculture purposes)
2) plateaus (800m high – this is much higher than Genting)
3) mountain range (Northern India – Himalayan range)
4) Eastern and Western guards – river from Himalayas
5) deserts
6) forests

the holiest river is Gangliest River which flows from West to East

Animals

1) Tigers (normally for pouching – highest number in India, pouching is a sport or game there. However, there is a law passed to protect tigers, fine 500K rupees)
Currently there are around 500 to 700 tigers in India.
Purpose: bones are expensive as they can be made into exotic alcohols
2) Lions ( Africa)
3) Rhinoceros (Azam  near Bangladesh)
4) Thar ( looks like deer, goat)
5) Hippopotamus (Azam)

Races
1) populian
2) Aryan (Indian – commonly vegetarians)
Majority: Buddhist religion

Buddhism flourished during 700 to 800 years ago.
From 500 BC to 400 AD, there wasn’t any sign of Buddhism

Whereas, Islam flourished in the West where this totally destroyed Buddhism ( took a downturn and went to Sri Lanka, China, Taiwan, Japan)
Also, Hinduism took a upper hand and this influences ideal worship

3) D Divian (southern)

African --- West --- India --- East --- Australia

This was the location like 30000 years ago
Due to the movement of Earth plates, India move northwards to Himalayans where the present Indian ocean was the highest mountain range.
The End of British rule: British ruled for 350 years from 17th to 19th)

This shows that I’m listening to the tour guide k?

Day 3 @ Jaipur

Jaipur has a 3 million population, a 279 years old city
18th century 1876 when British colonialised.
The name Pink city was coined by the British.
Now it has become New City

The temple we are going to in called Birla Temple

Some background:
Last time, the king has 12 wives.
1st wife : arrange marriage
Subsequent wives: victory wive ( u mean they fight for marriages?? Haha interesting, complicated king)

Birnla Temple is made of White marble, example of modern architecture

Gods:
Brama: creator
Krishna: protector
Destoryer: Shiva

The colourful glass painting of Birla Temple resembles all the religion: Christianity, Islam and Hinduism

Actually in the temple we are not allowed to take photos but they say once you are outside the temple you can take. So I snap after I step out of the temple, but then there’s a “security guard” who shoo me off, so paiseh… sorry

(Picture of Birla Temple)

this is the photo I accidentally snap.

We are now at City palace
These are amazing and magnificent pictures which I cant resist to stop taking even though the bus hasn’t reached.

(Pictures of city palace)

In India, there is this Blue Cross Society to take care of pets (Singapore there is red cross society!)

City palace has this place: Push co where this is the holiest place for muslims and hindus

Made of white tiles ( palace, whites get the priority)
Since the king likes pink colour, all the buildings in Jaipur are pink in colour but there are still other colours like green as it is naturally from nature, colour of vegetables; this is how the idea is gotten
The first wive of the king is a Muslim, second Christian, third A hindu.

There are 25 cinemas in Jaipur.

This is a building I caught:
There are 199 windows!

we haven gone into the topic of City palace yet!
Lesson on the bus again:

- there are people straying along roads of Jaipur; if we need them we can just call them as they work from 7am to 10 pm
- there is a Darnish Temple which consists of 365 steps ( Hey the knowledge abit no link arh cuz we are on the bus mah so he explain those buildings and the things we saw as the bus is in motion)
- Jaipur is famous for blue pottry
- Ladies can’t show their face – showing the conservativeness for example, the tour guide Mr. Chez dad didn’t get to see the wife’s face even after 8 years of marriage as he only get to see her face on the day of wedding.
- Water palace – 18th century
(PICTURE OF WATER GALLERY)
- there are 95 elephants on New City
- the national park has 35 tigers ( Adventurer Wildlife is India’s attraction)
- there is a cut road from mountain (a road leading to Delhi)
(PICTURE OF THE SCENARY AS WE ARE ENTERING CITY PALACE

we are so excited as we are queueing for the elephant ride under the hot sun
So as we are queueing, there is this dog sleeping on the ground.
When he found out that he is not in the shade of the people anymore, he gets up to shift location. 聪明 right?
However, when it’s our turn, we are sad to know that the elephants cannot be used to take passengers up anymore as 5 rides for passengers in the quota. We should not tire the elephants out lor. I was quite inspired by what Suliahah said during the sharing session: Elephants are the holiest and sacred animal in India, but then during their ride up to the Palace, the men handling the elephant is so cruel to it as he uses a long rope or stick to beat the elephant to move on faster when the elephant stops for awhile to take a rest or what. And Sulaihah saw the elephant’s ear bleading. 听了心很酸!

At first I was quite sad since I didn’t get a ride on the elephant, but after hearing what she said, I was quite happy that I didn’t go up.

So 12 of us took a jeep ride up, we saw the different lifestyles of Indians
Quite interesting and the scenery was beautiful.

PICTURES

monkey posing

Ok.

I think for Day 4 onwards I stop to take notes

Day 4 @ Agra

Can’t wait for today to come cuz we are going to Taj Mahal!

Some reflections:

Yesterday we made great friends at the chalet hotel: Sulaihah and Sarah Ng from A06 as their rooms have many cockroaches and lizards. Also, we are proud of ourselves to put up in our rooms tgt despite knowing that there is a transparent window which makes us uncomfortable when using the toilet facilities

We stop at Amber Palace I think. There are a lot of places which almost look the same.. I can’t remember them.

Well, pictures speak a thousand words.

secret passageway for the king to visit each of his wives

cooling tunnels

water palace

a big container to hold the holiest water from Gangliest river for the king to bathe
can u see my reflection??

love birds.. so cute!!!

the cobra was moving!!

OK, we are at the entrance of Taj Mahal!
Haven’t go in yet and we are so excited..
Can u believe in? I actually stepped into one of the 7 wonders of the world.
Yay! I conquered one of the wonders already.

the entrance of Taj Mahal!!

Taj Mahal is all purely built of marble. I touched the walls engraved with intricate designs. These are done by workers who died innocently after they finished with the monument. I find it disappointing because they have their rights and how can people blind them after they finish building just to keep the secret and plans of building and designing the monument.

With magnificent architecture, like what Sarah Ng said: “I can’t believe I’m here!”
I agree with her too.
I couldn’t believe my eyes either.
Breathtaking.
Wow.

Also, what makes me feel happy about today is because we have gotten a chance to ride on horse carts as a “compensation” for yesterday as we miss the elephant ride. However, we do feel guilty when we add on the burden on the horses where animal’s rights should have been protected.

this is the horse that we rode on to the Taj Mahal

thats me, miss zaleena and szesze

After Taj Mahal, we went to Agra Fort. This time round the whole building is made of red bricks. My sentiments agree with Miss Zaleena cuz she said that Agra Fort actually amazes her, not Taj Mahal itself. The architecture of Taj Mahal didn’t really fascinated her.
Yes. The architecture of Agra Fort was much more in depth and fine. And then, they built many secret passages, cool ventilating tunnels using the knowledge of science and geography which one can never think of lor…

agra fort!

Overall, I think Agra Fort is nicer. I like Agra Fort more.

Day 5 @ Delhi

Today is much more 好玩 and relax. Cuz it’s just sightseeing as the bus is moving around the city of New Delhi. Also, there is shopping at evening at Delhi hut!

General Knowledge time:

Biggest cities in India:
1) Calcutta
2) Bombay
3) Delhi – 50 million population, metropolitan lifestyle

Let’s compare Old Delhi and New Delhi:

Old Delhi:
- urban poverty
- predominantly Islam
- lifestyle differs from religion to religion
- Hindus have different income which give rise to different class, they are economically low where as Muslims are rich

New Delhi:
- are of upper class
- have economically rich people (South Delhi area)

Ok back to some history:
In 400 BC Mauryan kings rule – Ashoka emperor (Sec one history remember?) rule the south continent (India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan)

2550 years ago, Buddhism flourished.
After death of Buddha, stupas raised (kings in North India). Jade & Buddhism architecture have similarities.

Back to sightseeing topics,
Geog lesson again:

- there are slum areas in Delhi
- Forests look like rubbish. People pick up plastics to recycle for 150 to 200 rupees, tgt with other items for mineral bottle and papers to exchange for money.
Papers are recycled for packing in shopping spree because they are 1) bio-conscious, 2) can be biodegradable, 3) livelihood for people, retailing earns.
- There are policies implemented that are compulsory to learn about recycling uses for e.g., shops cannot use plastic bags or else they could be fined. There is a law passed down about making plastic for a maximum thickness. Also, propaganda declares zones as “no plastic bags”.
- Policy of cutting 10 trees, planting 100 trees declined.

2 successful things in India:

1) Family planning (2 children to 1 family). Counseling done by hospitals if have 2nd child
2) Public smoking is banned. Their public places mean anywhere in India whereas private places will be at their household.
If Mr. chez didn’t mention this I would not have noticed, nobody smokes in India except for some cases where people are too poor and desperate, they smoke opium. I wonder where they get the opium.
Or else, fined heavily. 99% of smoking in trams & platform are stopped. 50% of the population are aware that they are not supposed to smoke. However, policies are not implemented as there are not enough policemen to inspect and catch them.
Irony: pollution is a lot. Hai, people actually do not need to smoke to get lung cancer. Pollution in India is that bad already.
Average lifespan for men: 58 years

How successful is plastic recycling in India?
- NO plastic zones
- Advertisements to educate about dangers of burning plastics and it also create small jobs for poor people. People who are poor of course will want to earn for a living right?

Challenges:

1) talents
2) children don’t want to go to school
3) healthcare (Erh, I thought medicine is good in India?)
ooo, there isn’t enough government spending to purchase medical stuff though there are many hospitals.

Targets: 1/3 of India population to be fluent.

Education system in India (I took a long time to understand their education system, up till now I still blur blur)

ICE – International Certificate of Education
Similar to Singapore’s GCE O level

In India, they have 4 syllabus but most schools follow the state syllabus

5 years old: Standard 1
Til 15 to 16 years old: Higher sec school (JC)
17 years old: college (graduation) – plus 1 and plus 2 (similar to our J1 and J2)
21 years old: complete degree. Then post degree education (PHD)

No NS compulsory for guys, on volunteer basis.
So equal competition for both sexes.
Patriotism is high.
They do have NCC but limited seats in college
Selection process is difficult. (physical and attitude aspect)

For college, elitism poses problems to people as the subjects they are studying give rise to a intellectual gap.

A group: math, science, geog
Engineering. This group has advantages of entering into many different courses.

B group: Medical, Bachelor of Science (Phy, chem, bio) Zoology, Botany.
Bachelor of Literature, Bachelor of Economics, Bachelor of Biotechnology

C group: Accountancy, Geog, History, Econs
Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Economics, Bachelor of History

D group: History/ Geog

Background of India:

National flower: Lotus
National animal: Tiger
National sport: Hockey (Random comment: Shaun should go there ya?? Haha)
2 National days: Aug 15 – freedom from Britain
Jan 26 – Republic day

Ok, we reached the India gate:

Basically, there are 2 gates in India:

1) Mumbai – Gate way of India
2) Delhi – India gate built by government for people who sacrificed their lives in WW1. all their names were inscribed on the gate.

cute dog

Look at this Indian boy who follows us throughout. Actually its quite heart pain to see such scenes in New Delhi (a modernized city) itself. This boy kept begging us for food and money for the moment we got down the bus and till we got up the bus. Then, Frankie just gave him Singapore coins: 10 cent and 5 cent. But he chose the 5 cent instead. We guess because 5 cent coin is gold in colour which makes it more valuable ba. But, since it’s coins and worth value. Why don’t take both?

Children there are really 可怜 ba…

Also there is one more issue that I wanna rant about.
There is this particular guy here whom I shall not mention but I think most of u know who I am referring to ba. Isn’t very unreasonable and rude not to pay for the items after u have bargained for and grab those items away, not one item but many???
What makes us real puking is, “I rather shoot it up and leave it lying rather than giving to u!”
So I actually went to take those items away from him and play, but I just feel guilty that I actually took those things that are not paid for. My fault too.

Actually in India, there are a lot of cases like this (I meant the small boy). People wanting to earn money out from making souvenirs will keep following u and disturbing u to buy those things once u got down from the bus. Also, children will keep following u and touching u, begging for money and food. 看了很心酸。

Singaporeans are living well.

Well, it’s shopping time and today is the most ‘high’ day we had because of the items we bought. It was cold too. We made friends too, like Frankie and HuiXiang, also the A02 malay girls like Hanisah. Wow, she’s real good at bargaining so I got a bag at a cheaper price. Kinda regretted cuz I should have bought more things back. Well, at least I got a sari cloth and I love it a lot. Heehee.
Not like normal shopping centres where u can enter freely as and when u want, u have to pay for a ticket to Delhi hut. Also, very chalet and fun fair type of place. I like it a lot.

the most high day after shopping!

the distorted flag on hui xiang's hand

this is frankie. after the hanna. he look as if he just sprained his neck

Look at their hanna!
Especially HuiXiang’s, he actually wanted a Singapore Flag, but then the person donno how to draw. So we laugh and laugh.

And we celebrated mrs leong’s birthday!!!!
And during lunch today, I went to the gents to avoid the long queue for toilets. And so when I came out of the gents, mr sas shot me!!!! …. He said he caught me red handed??? And my photo will be put up concourse!!!
I said NO mr sas DELETE IT!
But nvm la..
At least I entertain people.. hee hee

Day 6 @ University of Delhi

We went to School of Language & Literature (Seriously not my area of expertise)
The professor of Indian literature was cute and I love his accent. He speaks well and very very fluent.
He specialized in popular culture like cinema, theatre and advertisements, inferring into literature, political science, philosophy. He mentioned about understanding the genre and time and don’t read it like a textbook.

that was mr sas

But … today is the worst night I have ever had
Yesterday was heaven.
Today was hell.

First, we are only given half an hour for dinner.
So we had to rush here and there.
I had gastric.. so cant wait lor.
And still we went to TGIF, not knowing it was happy hour lounge.
So we faster came out

Rush our dinner
And rush back to the meeting point.
Was already quite angry so I just walk back…
And things happen. (shall not mention here)

Since the gate was closed for the shopping malls, we took a metro train to a place near our hotel.
So sad!
I saw adidas, puma and so on.. shops that I wanna walk in.

But at least we got a ride on their train.
Thanks yongsheng for giving me their ticket for souvenir…

While shopping along the roads, it gave us a fright and scared that people might just threaten us off or what.
After half an hour, we rush to the meeting point again and head off to our hotel.
Walk a long long distance
Passing by so many hotels.. 30 and over but we still haven reach ours yet
Cars zoom past and even if u walk to the side of the road all the time, cars may just squeeze thru u and come in.
So walking in India must have 200% awareness.
Cuz there may be holes on the road, “gold” on the road, children coming to beg for money, and u have to be aware of cars zooming past and know where u are heading for.
One of our malay girls nearly got run down by the cars and so we shouted loudly.
Oh ya and before that, It was really dangerous when we cross the roads of the metro station.
I kept holding on tight to Xinyu.
My blood pressure went up. haha
It was hell experience
Luckily we reach the hotel and was given 3 hours to rest.
So Frankie and huixiang, eric and yongsheng, were darn bored so we played cheat at our rooms.. hee hee( I hope teachers wont read this)
And rich Frankie ordered soups..
It was fun lah.. at least better than the hell experience

One reflection:

We saw kids while we are on the bus as small as three to five years old having to earn money for a living through displaying their talents and performing on the streets. Where were we of such ages? Happily playing in the playground, studying in a kindergarten. And also 2 kids dash past the road of heavy traffic. This sight made Mrs Leong cried though its her birthday… she said, “I myself as a mother would not ever let her children run across the road just like that”. Where are their parents? Perhaps due to poverty, they have to bear seeing their children suffer at such tender age. Also take the example of the little boy following Timothy at the India gate, they have gone so poor to the extent that they wanted money and food so much that these things outweigh their self esteem and sense of upright.

Actually I gave a water bottle with water to one of those kids lah.. din give money of cuz. Cuz we scared they would run chasing after us.

Also wanna comment on one sight, me xinyu and sulaihah or grace I cant remember, were walking back from a toilet at a petrol station for a toilet break and saw a men holding a big rifle.
We were damn scared la… what if the person just shoot…???

then we are off to Singapore!!

well after this trip i learnt alot and i dont regret coming though i was the only one from my class and dont know much abt eng lit and my GP so lan...
at least i came back safe and sound, my gastric doesnt give me problem!
just that i find that i am not a typical girl who likes to shop and do whatever typical girl likes leh.. i just find that la..
i am a tom boy !
and also i miss my chi na culture for 6 days
though we speak english most of the time with my class mates (who are quite chi na),
but then it's still the comfortable normal way of english that we speak.
maybe cuz its literature trip ba, the way we speak and arts students are different.
theirs is : oh my god... haha perhaps some of u do not know i don like this phrase, parhaps it has already been a cliche in ur daily conversation and cannot be changed le. maybe religious problem and also my choir instructor doesnt like it. influence ba. not ur fault la actually.
just like our : wa lau eh
"ang moh" type wont like it also rite?
