Finally - an update!
Wow. I just realized it has been weeks since I've put anything on here. So before I finish with our San Diego trip I wanted to put these pictures up here before I take them off the computer. For Colton's 7th birthday we (I) decided to do a mad scientist party. I have come across ideas for one of these parties here and there over the years and thought it would be a fun party to have . . . and by far, the funnest birthday party I have done to date. He wanted to invite friends so thats what we did. As each one came to the door, they were greeted by Colton who checked them in and gave them their "mad scientist" attire. Then they headed to the main table where I did a gathering activity (this is the scout leader coming out in me - for all of you that do scouts). Anyways, once all the kids were there we made lava lamps, slime and did a cool experiment with milk. Then it was outside for the alka seltzer rockets (thank you Cindy for this idea - it was the hit of the party). This is where we spent majority of our time, probably an hour or better. Those boys were not about to come in until every little piece of alka seltzer was used. Once in the house we played 'stomp the atom' and then had cake and ice cream and did presents.
