melts my heart.

Can I just say this little guy is one of my favorites? He is my little buddy throughout the day, no matter what I might be doing. And he loves. loves. LOVES. his picture taken which thrills me to pieces. So the other day I got out the lights to take some pictures and he came over and sat on my stool and started saying 'cheese'. So I started asking him where all of his body parts are and he actually started pointing to them as I said them so I started shooting and captured every one (I didn't post them all - just a couple of my favs). These are possibly my new favorite pictures - at least until he does something that that I ooh and aah over.

Wedding Bells.

Yes, it is true; my little sister is getting married in just a few short weeks. I am very excited and happy for her. And she probably is going to kill me for posting this picture without her seeing it first. But, you know what, I'm the one who took the picture so I guess in a sense that means I own it and can do whatever I want with it (ha ha ha). All jokes aside, congratulations Jane (cause I know you will be reading this eventually), we love ya.

Captain Underpants.

Honestly, where has my baby gone? Lately he has been doing things I swear my other kids didn't do until they were at least 3 . . . like dressing themselves. What one-year-old dresses themselves?! The other night we were all in the kitchen making dinner and he came running in there saying 'yook (look) mom'! Somewhere, somehow he found a mismatch pair of pajamas and two pair of Colton's underwear and put them on all by himself. He had things turned inside out and two legs in one hole but he did it all by himself. I wanted to cry. This is my baby (my very last baby) and, in my eyes, he is suppose to say little forever. I think he is growing faster than all my other boys put together. . . if I could only pause time.

December Fun.

Every year we do gingerbread houses - nothing fancy, just some graham crackers held together with burnt sugar. But the kids sure do get a kick out of doing them. We did them the week of the whole raining/flooding ordeal so this helped them channel some of that "extra energy" into something worthwhile instead of fighting. They all turned out cute. . . and I can't wait to see what they come up with next time.

Goodbye 2010.

Happy New Year (insert fireworks here). Here's to eating a lot less sugar and more green foods, here's to finishing my cookbook, here's to sticking with my running schedule, here's to catching up on another scrapbook, here's to living more in the moment, here's to staying in contact with friends better, here's to having more faith, and to simplifying more (heaven knows we could all do this). And if you are wondering, pictured are some cookie truffles (delicous).
