playing catch-up
All of last week and the beginning of this week I have been sick; really sick, with the throw-ups and the dry-heaves, a fever, the cold chills, painful stomach ache, etc. You name it, I had it. Anyways, now it is time to catch-up on all the things that I managed to put off . . . bill paying, house cleaning, applesauce making (what's left of it), business paperwork, filing, insurance audits, school work with the kids, house cleaning, laundry, scouts, and did I mention house cleaning?!

Me? Inspiring?
A week or so ago I was perusing the internet during naptime (as I usually do) and came upon a
"photo challenge" that was happening over at Becky Higgins' blog. Those of you
who know me know I love her and everthing that has to do with her so I thought I would give
the "challenge" a try and maybe if I got a shot I was halfway satified with I would submit it for
the contest. So as the week went on I practiced and practiced taking numerous
pictures from a surface, but wasn't happy with many. Then I had an idea to capture Breckon
being Breckon so I put the camera by the back door and set the timer. A few seconds later
Breckon came walking over to me begging to be held. I loved the picture and ended up
submitting it. And much to my surprise I found out this morning that I won a project
life kit because of it! To say the least I was shocked. It even brought a tear or two to my eyes.
She even said I was . . . . . inspiring. Really? Me? Inspiring? Thank you Becky! You
made my day. And at top is the very picture I submitted.

My preschooler.
I love this boy to pieces. Weston is such a cuddler, a story-teller, and still a total mama's boy (which I don't mind one bit). Tuesday was his first day back to preschool and we did not start the morning off right. As soon as he got up that morning tears were shed about how he hates school, has no friends, they all scratch him (this is where the story-telling comes in to play), how he wanted to stay home with me, and he was not getting dressed. Thankfully Kyle was still home and after much coaxing and cuddling among the two he was easily persuaded, but on one condition; that his blankie could go with him inside his backpack. And yes, he was not impressed with the picture taking going on prior to the gate opening.
