Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to Jaydon! He is now 3 years old and I can't believe how quickly time has gone. The night of his birthday I took him into his bedroom to lay by him for a minute. He always asks for stories and we make them up most of the time. But, I decided to tell him about a special little boy that came to live with us that made us the happiest parents, and told him how much we loved having little baby Jaydon with us and adored everything about him. He was smiling the whole time knowing I was actually telling him about him. He really is the best son I could ask for. He is a typical three-year-old (tools, trucks, dirt, sports...), but he also is very caring and doesn't like when we are sad. He has a love for all things boyish and I can never find batteries or screw drivers as he is always finding them to change out batteries in stuff. He loves to take things apart and "help" put them together. He's always saying randomly throughout the day "I love my dad" or "I love my mom". He wants to know where the other parent is always and I love it when he brings me my mit and asks "You play baseball with me, Mom?" How can I resist! He's fun in every way and I can't imagine my life without him!
With all of the birthdays we go to for family and friends, he remembered his was next. We kept showing him how to hold three fingers up and he got really good at doing it. When we asked him what day his birthday was he'd hold up his three fingers. He is still trying to remember the day, but he definitely knows he's three. The next morning after his birthday, he woke up and the 1st thing he said as he held up his fingers was "I'm three today, but it's not my birthday!" It was pretty cute. For celebrating, he woke up to Jason taking him to an Easter egg hunt at the park. Then our families came over in the afternoon for a picnic (that is what Jaydon kept calling it so luckily the weather cooperated!) We had sandwiches and cake and ice cream and the kids just played around. He was so good and patient as I made his Dash birthday cake. That's exactly what he wanted and he loved seeing it all finished and kept wanting to play with him. Later that day, we spent time getting out his track and trains, then dyed eggs with him and some of my family stayed over and visited. Easter was fun as well and Jaydon was excited to see his basket of goodies Sunday morning. My parents went to church with us and we then went to Jason's parents that afternoon! It was a busy weekend but so fun, we loved every minute of it. Can't wait to see what adventures await us in the coming year! We love you Jaydon!
