Yep You Guessed It More Sadie Pictures, But...

This is Bryant making a post late tonight just to put up a few pictures of our newest addition. I'm sure Jessica will post more later. Mother and baby are both doing very well! Jessica did a great job. I am so proud of her! As you can see in the pictures we are all excited that she is finally here. Look for more updates and photos soon. Thank you all for your well wishes, thoughts, help, and prayers over the last few months. We needed them. We love you all.

More...Yep - You guessed it - Sadie pictures!

Today I saw a lot of Bryant in her. We are all so ready for her to get here. Today after school Sibley got in the car and said, "Aw mom, I was hoping you wouldn't be able to come get us today because you would be in the hospital and Sadie would be born already."

Spring Break Horsin' Around

Today Bryant took Skyler and Sibley for a special outing. Sibley got a new Barbie Wii game that she has been playing all week. She gets to ride, groom, and take care of a horse. She asked Bryant a couple of days ago if she could ride a real horse. It just so happened that his friend, Gaither, called him the very next day. Gaither is a real cowboy from the White Mountains. He's a champion roper. So Bryant told him the girls would really like to go horseback riding and he was kind enough to oblige them. Sibley was so excited. She got up extra early and put on her horseback riding clothes. Skyler gave the horse an apple after riding, and he ate it up and was sniffing all around her looking for another. They each took a used horseshoe for a souvenir. On the way home, Sibley declared that this was the best Spring Break ever. For all you single ladies out there, or those of you who know the single ladies, Gaither is a very eligible bachelor. Just FYI, he is very good looking and he always smells good too. Let's find this cowboy a cowgirl!

More Sadie pictures...

Y'all might be tired of looking at her, but we got some really cute pictures at our appointment today and I wanted to upload them. She is truly a miracle baby for us (artificial insemination), so we never tire of looking at her. I guess all parents never tire of looking at their children, regardless of the circumstances.

Sadie Update

[The swirly stuff in the picture is her umbilical chord. Does she not have the poutiest face you've ever seen?]
I guess the shot has really kicked in now because nothing is happening. Still at a 3 and no longer even having contractions. They measured her today and she now weighs 7 lbs. I am 36.5 weeks now and it looks like it may be a couple more weeks before she gets here. She gained a pound last week, so if I make it to 38 or 39 weeks, she'll probably be a 9 pounder. As long as she's healthy, though, we don't care how big she is. I know they won't let me go past 39 weeks or 11 pounds, so that is a little reassuring. They went ahead and doubled my Diabetes medicine, but I'm glad because that means her bloodsugar won't be quite as low when she's born. The girls and I were really hoping she would be born during their Spring Break (this week), but it looks like that's not gonna happen. Curses!

On a different note, would you believe my girls went swimming in the neighborhood pool today? Well, they did. I should have taken a picture. Tomorrow should be even hotter than today, around 83, so I told them I would take them again. Happy Saint Patrick's Day tomorrow!

Our Surprise Sunday Guest

Today after church, we stayed late for a potluck. Bryant wanted to stay and help clean up, so the girls and I walked home. When we got here and went to open the front door, this big guy was here to greet us, just to the side of the door. We had never seen anything like him before. We ran inside to get the camera and Bryant drove up. I thought for sure he would know what kind of lizard it was, being an Arizona boy and all, but he had never seen one of these either.

Anyway, I had him go and get a ruler so that we could measure it. It was about 9 inches long from snout to tail's end. And it was super spiny. It was really fat too. I have seen long lizards before, but never one this spiny and fat. I tried to look it up, and my best guess is that it is a Desert Spiny Lizard. I know it's not a Gila Monster or a Horned Lizard. Any other guesses?

Anyway, it was an exciting episode for us. Bryant didn't want to let him stay and linger above our front door, so he got after him with the broom to make him move. When he did, Mama Kitty gave chase. But the lizard climbed up the house and stopped on the second story by one of the windows. Mama Kitty tried her best to climb the house after him, but was unsuccessful. We are just hoping that Grandmama will still come and stay with us after Sadie is born, even with creatures like this about. Ironically, the last thing we studied at church today was Genesis 1, in which the earth and all the creatures thereon were created, each with its own purpose. What a great lesson enhancement!

Sadie Louise: She's a rarin' to go!!!

Sadie Louise is ready to get here, even though it is still just a little too early. All weekend I was having contractions. On Friday they were 3 minutes apart and 2 minutes long for a little while, but they calmed down after that. Then, on Sunday, after I sat down at church, they started in at 7 minutes apart. By the third hour, they were 5 minutes apart and uncomfortable. I went and got Bryant out of class so that he could take me home and I could pack my hospital bag, just in case. By 8:00 they were 3 minutes apart, so he carried me to the hospital. The girls had been my helpers and were writing down my contraction times for me. They were dying to go to the hospital too, so we took them with us.

When I got there, the nurse checked me and I was at a 3 and 50% effaced. Their charts showed that I was only 35 weeks and 2 days, and the doctors are really trying to hold me off until I am 36 or 37 weeks. So, they gave me a shot of some terrible stuff that makes your contractions stop, but makes you feel like your heart will explode. I don't recall the name of it. I know it made Sadie fidgety too because she was just a kicking me. It worked very well, though, and within a few minutes my contractions had stopped. They were worried that they may have to give me a mag drip and keep me overnight, but the first medicine did the trick. So Bryant and I, along with our very tired and disappointed girls, were home by 11:00 last night. Sadie is just so impatient...I have no idea where she gets it from. Now, if I can just keep her at bay for another week or two we should be in good shape. Wish me luck!

Skyler's Camp Fundraiser

We were recently very excited to find out that Skyler was eligible for Girls' Camp this summer, even though she won't quite be 12 yet. Since they encourage the girls to raise their own money for camp, Skyler is having a Scentsy fundraiser. The timing is great because the Scentsy Spring/Summer Catalog just came out and in it is some really cute new stuff. Please click on my link to view the catalog online and verify my statement! They brought back some of the classic Summer scents, like Havana Cabana, and added some new ones, like Mayflower, which is wonderful. Let me know if you are interested in having a Scentsy fundraiser for your child or organization. I donate 25% of the sales. If you have trouble with my link, then my website is www.scentsy.com/jessicaslade
P.S. Don't forget about those end of the year teacher gifts!

Hike to Superstition Petroglyphs

Bryant took the girls on a hike into the Superstition Wilderness Area a couple of weeks ago. Even though it rained on them and they nearly froze, they had a blast! There were even clouds at the top of the trail. They loved looking at the petroglyphs too.

The new Scentsy catalogs and samples are here!

They have some really cute new stuff for the Spring and Summer. I especially like the new plug ins. If you want to see them, click on my Scentsy link, or leave me a comment with your address and I'll mail you a catalog. Also, let me know if you want to borrow the new samples and make a list of the ones you like.
