Men are governed by lines of intellect- women: by curves of emotion.

Sadie is doing great in Kindergarten! I am volunteering now once a week in her class.

The other day Bryant told her he was "reading the back of his eyelids" when he was going in and out of his frequent catnaps. Sadie came up to me and asked me what was written on the back of Daddy's eyelids.

Thanksgiving 2014

Sadie in December 2014

Sadie doing shadow puppets - a rabbit eating a carrot. Sadie learned to tie her shoe yesterday - all in one day. She started practicing in the morning and had it down by early afternoon. We've been sad because Giana moved, but she has taken it much better than I expected. She's much more mature than I give her credit for. Now, if I can just get her out of my bed!

Today is cloudy and high of 87 here in the Valley of the Sun. Sadie just woke up and went to the open screen door and said, "Mama, it's Winter! It's cold now!". Has this child grown accustomed to the Arizona weather or what?

Tonight Sadie said the sweetest thing and it broke my heart.  She brought the yoga mat over to me on the couch and said, "Here Mama, do yoga so you can feel better."

Swanky Sweet 16s

Skyler had a couple of Sweet 16 parties to go to this past weekend.  The first one was pretty formal and she picked out this blue dress at Ross.  She looked so pretty.

Happy crappy Easter!

We had a terrible Easter this year...All 5 out of 5 of us were sick.  I'm always sick.  I'm always sick, but the rest of us got a virus...stomach virus/throat virus/sinus congestion/fun stuff.  But Easter is always good no matter what because it is Easter and Jesus is risen and he sacrificed himself for our sins.

For Easter dinner, we ate with the Slys over at Amy's house.  It was fun.  I had to take Sibley home because she was too sick.  Everyone else had a great time!

We made these dairy free gluten free cupcakes to bring.  And we brought a spinach-strawberry salad.  For our Easter lunch here, we had ham, potato salad, olives, green beans, punch, and I can't remember what else.

A weekend with Keith and Pam

Keith and Pam came down last weekend.  We were so happy to have them stay with us Friday and Saturday night.  On Friday night we watched Whitehouse Down.  On Saturday they went to see Rush who had just had heart surgery.  They came back and we had a big late lunch here at the house.  Then Pam was kind enough to buy our family an annual pass to the Botanical Gardens.  She wanted us all to go see the Chihuly Exhibit.  It was a great exhibit.  Keith pushed me in a wheelchair and Sadie sat in my lap most of the time.  It was a little crowded because it was a weekend night, but we are looking forward to going again at a less crowded time.  They left and went back to Utah early Sunday morning and we were very sad to see them go.  We are looking forward to spending more time with them in June and looking forward to having them move down here when Pam retires and they tie up their loose ends in Utah.

Me: (listening to Van Morrison and singing and dancing and snapping my fingers in my bedroom)
Sadie: (laying on the bed and looking very worried) "Mommy, am I in trouble?"
Me: "No, why?"
Sadie: "Because you click your fingers when I do wrong things."
Me: (Hysterically laughing) "And when I dance, honey...People snap their fingers when they dance too."

Sadie's surgery

Sadie had to have her front teeth redone.  On one of them she had completely lost the back of one of the crowns.  The doctor said he almost pulled the tooth because it looked so bad it almost wasn't worth saving.  But she did great and when we got home she slept the anesthesia off.  She slept the whole rest of the day.  Mama Kitty always knows when Sadie is sad or sick and finds her and cuddles with her.  Any other time, Mama Kitty runs the other way!
