On the move!

Well, it's official. Columbia, South Carolina will be home at the end of November!

It has taken so long to get to this point. Our entire marriage has been preparing to get into grad school, I cant believe that after all our hard work (namely Dan's hard work....but i had to deal with it!) that it has finally come time to pack up and move across the country!

Dan is going to be getting his CRNA (certified nurse anesthetist), and i am so incredibly proud of him! He has worked so hard to get to this point, and his hard work is only beginning....but he is amazing. I am aware that I am pretty much going to be a single mom the entire 2 1/2 years. However, i feel that up to this point with all the work and school that Dan has already done that i have pretty much already been that, so i should be able to handle it. Dan was talking to another student when he was interviewing in SC and the guy said that there is so much work and studying to be done that your days are 14-15 hour days filled with nothing but school. Dan wont be able to have any kind of job, and the guy said that even if he just wanted to go on an evening walk with his family he'd have to bring his notes and read while they were walking.....dang....we are in for some hard work! But it will all pay off...greatly.

I am super excited to to be near the ocean!! If you know me at all, you know that i am absolutely in love with the ocean. I always told myself and everyone else that i would live near an ocean, and now i am finally getting that chance! Columbia is the capitol of SC, and about 80 miles from the beach. So about an hour and a half of driving to get to the sea. I am nervous for the humidity, I am nervous to leave everything we've known, I am so sad about missing my family and them missing us.....but in spite of all the fears i am so incredibly excited for this adventure i can hardly stand it!! We've been talking to Taya about moving, prepping her for the change. We call it our ocean house, and i think she is excited. Unfortunately, we are going to drive there and it will take about 5-6 days of driving straight, so im not looking forward to keeping kids happy during that time. But we'll get through it. PS, if anyone has tips for road trip games they would be appreciated!

Here are some pictures to get you excited for us! ;)
This is Myrtle Beach. I love the white sand and beach grass.

So many beautiful beaches there!

From what i've seen, it seems like most of the trees are like this. All hanging over walkways and covered in green.

Everything is so green.

This tree is called oldest oak. Possibly the oldest living this east of the Mississippi!

There is a ton of history, like old plantations and such to visit. How cool!

I've said this before, but i love to change, i love adventures and i love to keep life interesting. I am happy for this big change, and to add this to the list of things i've done in life. I'm excited to grow and see what this future brings. And who knows, maybe i'll pick up a southern accent ya'll!
