It has been a while since my last post, I will admit, but I am really serious about being more serious about this blog. (That made sense, right?) Since pinterest came along, I have been spending what free computer time I have with pinning, lol. But I had to step back and think, "What is more important? Recording precious family memories or having delicious and nutritious dinners and fabulously clean and decorated walls?" No.....wait. That didn't help either. And well, long story short, I decided that they are all important and that I will be making time for both exhibitions in the future. So to get myself all caught up so that I can begin recording every detail of my little family's life, I will do a picture/detail overload. Ready....go!
More beach days...
Nap time. Its a rough job but someone's gotta do it!
Snuggles. I LOVE that he still lets me do this.
These next couple of pictures are from our beautiful reserved camp site by the lake.......
We were so excited to spend the weekend here playing in the water and fishing, it was so pretty. We set up camp, enjoyed the water for a couple of hours, then as it started to get dark we built a fire. Brennan put a bucket on his head and started walking around.....and walked right into the fire pit! He fell hands first into the fire, burning the skin off his right hand. I grabbed him out as fast as I could and stuck his hand under the freezing water faucet by our tent. He was screaming and the skin was bubbling and peeling off. It was so horrible!! I have never felt so helpless in my life. I was crying because I felt so bad, Taya was crying because we we're ignoring her (I'm sure she felt bad too lol) and Dan was cursing as he was trying to take down our already paid for camp site. It was just starting to get dark and people were trying to go to sleep, and poor Brennan was screaming his head off as Dan was trying to pack up as quickly as he could. Some nice person went to the camp head people and got some burn cream for us, but when I put it on Brennan's hand he started screaming even more hysterically and trying to shake it off his hand so I washed it off. (I looked at the tub of cream later and it was like icy-hot for sore muscles!!, not burn relief cream.) Poor little boy. Dan finally got camp taken down while I was still bent over holding Brennan under the water faucet, but as soon as i would take Brennan's hand out of the water he'd start screaming and thrashing. It was so so sad. We had to drive home about 45 minutes with he and I sobbing. We made it to the emergency room and got him examined, 2nd degree burns all over his right hand in fingers.
It has been months since this happened, and now he is all healed, but the areas he was burned have no pigment. He just has a multi-colored hand. (We call it his "cool hand".)
It was horrible, but we are lucky that it was only his one hand that was burned, considering he fell with both hands, and face first. These are the only pictures we took, right before he fell.

RIP Gizmo. We'll miss you little buddy!
(Also, you'll have to meet the newest addition, Stormie)
Out on a nature hike...
Feeding the wild snapping turtles. They swarmed us. So did the mosquitos.
Playing Tarzan.
We are learning to skim board. Dan is waaaay better then I am so far, which is why there is no picture of me. And there wont be one for a while, at least until I get past the face-planting in the sand stage.
Just chillin in my birthday suit, no big.
My ocean girl. She has my soul :).
Okay, this one is major. We saw our first wild alligators! 3 of them. They were pretty awesome looking, it was super cool to be so close in the wild....observe.
I think that pretty much covers the major points of the past few months. We have been having so much fun out here. It has been an adventure for sure, we love exploring this beautiful east coast!
