Projects-new paint

Entry Before:
I don't know why I can't find a better before picture.  But I had stuff on all of the walls and 2 of them were this dark faux look that really closed in the space.  So I did new taller baseboards and gray paint on the walls and moved the couches around and the room feels so much bigger.  My awesome neighbor did the woodwork and we did one wall with this board and batten.  I've got a big picture of the temple I need to put up and some hooks above the shoe shelf for coats and backpacks.

Kitchen Before:
Put up beadboard on backsplash and new knobs.  I would love to get granite counters, a new sink, and new stainless steel stove, but that will have to wait.

Jackson Hole

We just got home from an awesome trip to Jackson WY.  Erik's uncle Ray lives there just outside of town in Moose.  We could ride our bikes to the entrance of Grand Teton national park.
Our trip started out rough when we couldn't find our car keys as we were getting ready to leave.  So after 2 hours we got a new key and someone was over to our house to program it and we were on the road.  The kids were good sports.  Food, legos and movies to keep them busy.

Our first day there we took the boat across Jenny Lake and did a hike up to a waterfall.  The boys got to feed chipmunks our of their hands and pet them until a ranger scolded them.

The day before we left Kire took a nasty crash down the big hill by our house and smashed his face, luckily he was wearing his helmet.
Then Ray took us out on his beautiful boat on Jackson Lake.  All the boys, even Kael, were daring enough to jump in the freezing lake.

The next day we walked around town and did the alpine slide.

On our way home we got to wait while a herd of buffalo passed in front of our car.
Then that night the boys went fishing for a 3rd time and finally caught something.  Kire caught a pretty big fish all by himself.
We went to a park downtown that has several climbing walls and the boys did awesome

Junie

The boys have been asking for a dog for a while now. Kael will go to our back fence and cry for our neighbors dog, and Kire has always been a dog lover.  Jack really didn't care about dogs at all.
Our friends down the street were breeding their yorkie and Erik told them when they did that we wanted a puppy...it came a little faster than I was ready for.
Last week we got this cute little girl, we named her Junie (because we got her in June and from the Junie B Jones books we read).
Kael is in love, but sometimes not very gentle with her so I have to watch him.
Kire is a huge help, he take her potty and plays with her in the morning while I try to sleep.
And Jack, who really didn't like animals before, snuggles her whenever he can. I find them asleep on the couch together daily.

So far she has been awesome, and kept the boys entertained.  She cries at night sometimes so I usually end up with her in bed snuggling us.  As soon as she's potty trained I'll let her sleep in Kire's bed.

Star wars room

Kael no longer wants to sleep in his crib, and Kire's always complaining that the boys get into his stuff, so I thought I might as well move Kael & Jack into the same room.  So the little boys are sharing bunk beds and we put Kire in the baby room...so no more babies for us.

Funny story...I sent Erik to pick up a bed for Kire I found on ksl; I told him to go get money from the bank and then head to the house.  He gets to the house, calls  me and asks how much money he needed, he hadn't gotten enough.  So he went in the house, looked at the bed, they loaded half of it up and Erik ran to the bank to get the rest of the money.  He gets to the banks, pulls out his wallet and realized he's left his atm card at the other bank he was at.  So he had to go back to the house the following day with the rest of the money and get the rest of the bed.  This is typical Erik.  I love him, but he makes everything harder than it should be because he's so scatter brained.
So here's the captains bed I got on ksl.  Our bedrooms are so small so I wanted extra storage in the bed.  I just bought a plain comforter at Target then made some pillows and valance out of some cute star wars fabric.
I found 2 star wars posters on amazon and modge podged them onto canvas so they look a little more like paintings.

Star wars clock I found at Walmart.
And some star wars vinyl I found on etsy.

Jack's Starwars party

Jacks star wars party.  I made a light saber cake and Jack put his star wars figures on top of it.  We played star wars Lego bingo to start out the party while we waited for friends to get here.  Then everyone got to pick out a mask and a light saber.  We fought and played pin the saber on Darth Vader.

During Christmas Jack saw these Calico critters at a toy store and had been asking for them since.  I found a Melissa and Doug cute doll house and barn on Amazon and bought him some animals and furniture to set up.  He loves them.

I've been wanting to do something in my bedroom for a long time and finally found a bedspread I liked (thanks Lindsey). So I painted my dresser and got cute knobs at Hobby Lobby.  Then spent $40 on wood and did the board and batten behind my bed and got rid of the headboard which freed up lots more space.
