Pictures of Hunter

Here are some pictures of Hunter so far.  I can't believe how much he has changed in two and half months.

Hunter's blessing day, he was two weeks old

He was the ring bearer at his uncle Mike's wedding

The day he came home from the hospital, he was so tiny

He made this face pretty regularly when he was awake the first few weeks

Hunter Taggart Martin

I'm finally writing about my sweet baby boy.  Hunter Taggart was born June 9, 2012 at 1:28 am.  He was 7 lbs. 2 oz. and 20 inches long.

My water broke at 10:30 Friday morning, luckily I had just taken a shower.  After calling my doctor's office, my friend Amy to come pick me up and Josh's office I finished getting ready and made sure I had everything for the hospital.  Amy and I swung by Carl's Jr on the way since I knew I wouldn't be eating anything for a while.

Since I wasn't actually in labor the nurses checked to make sure that my water had indeed broken.  Then there was just lots of waiting.  Amy stayed with me until Josh got to the hospital.  He had been doing IV that day so he finished up with a few more patients and came over.  He never even went home, his assistant Jayden had to buy him an outfit to wear.  Around 4 I started feeling contractions and by 6 they were pretty intense.  Since I had always planned on getting an epidural I decided I had had enough contractions and the anesthesiologist hooked  me up.  After that it wasn't too bad. By 10 I was fully dilated, but I decided to wait an hour to let Hunter descend a little further.   I started pushing a little after 12.   I didn't have to push too long before my nurse told me to stop since the doctor was on his way.  After my doc got there I pushed for maybe 30-40 minutes and poof there he was, this tiny perfect little baby.  Don't be mislead by this post; there was still lots of stitches, some throwing up, turning blue because of need of oxygen, and lack of food for far too long mixed in there.  But it wasn't as bad as I had imagined.  Now all the stuff that comes after delivery, that was much worse than I had imagined.  Did I mention my mom was there?  She flew in Friday night, which was wonderful.  My bestie Amy came back Friday night and did a great job capturing all the excitement.  Here are a few pics from that day.

It was a very special day that I will never forget.  I love my little boy more that I could have every imagined.  There is nothing better than being a mom.

Pregnancy Thus Far

I found out I was pregnant in the middle of the night in October. I really didn't think I was. But after a restless night of sleeping and accidentally waking Josh up at three in the morning he mumbled, "Can you just go pee on a stick?!" I did it to appease him and turns out it was positive. We couldn't sleep for the rest of the night. This wasn't really a good thing since we were getting up early to drive to Texas to spend the weekend with Josh's family. I had one day to bask in the joy of being pregnant before full blown morning sickness kicked in.

This so called morning sickness has lasted all day everyday up until maybe two and half weeks ago. Now it's hit and miss some days are good, some days are bad. It's amazing how good good days are. Life is wonderful on good days. I am so happy that I am having more of those days now. I also hate food, almost all food. I don't really have cravings I have to think of something that isn't going to make me sick, which is pretty much hamburgers. Today at my check up I found out what might be the cause of this. Cross your fingers that it is, cause I would really enjoy eating again with out taking nausea meds to make me enjoy it.

We found out we were having a boy a few weeks ago at one of those fetal photo places. Seemed a little iffy to me, but the guy that performed the ultrasound had been an OB in Lithuania for 15 years. That made it seem a bit more legit. At my appointment today my doc confirmed with out a doubt it is a boy. Everything appears to be developing very well. :)

I've got 5 more months to go, so exciting. Here's to hoping they are better than the last few.
It's small, but the start of my baby bump at 18 weeks

Getting an ultrasound today, Amy assured me that I did not have a sweat spot when she took the pic, it's a shadow. phewwww!

2011

I can't believe 2011 is over and it's already 2012. Where does the time go? Last year brought lots of excitement and lots of changes:

moving back to Tucson
becoming Mrs. Martin
an amazing trip to Fiji
fun with friends
wonderful trip to Africa
move to Utah

It's all been a great adventure and I am looking forward to exciting changes in 2012!

Moving

I have been so preoccupied with other things lately I haven't blogged for a while. I'm not even sure anyone checks it out anymore. But either way I am posting that Josh and I will be moving to Utah next month. Josh is buying a practice in Orem and for the time being we will be living in American Fork.

When the opportunity first came to us we turned it down. We had no desire to leave Tucson. But after much thought and prayer we realized Heavenly Father was thinking something different. There are pros to moving; being closer to my family, we both have very good friends up there, and well that's about all I could come up with. I have actually been very resistant to the idea since we decided to do it. Every time I look at the Tucson mountains as I drive home I want to cry. I love my friends here, I love the desert, and bottom line this is home.

As I have come to terms with the fact that it is in fact happening in a month. I am looking forward to what this next adventure has to offer. The reality is I have gotten the confirmation that it's what we should do, now I have to trust that. The funny thing is I had finally felt stability and being grounded in my life and here I am moving again. Guess I will continue to try to enjoy this ride of life, where ever it may take me.

This & That

So, I have been debating whether or not I should get a new email account. The other one, for those that don't know, is a version of my first name and my last name. It never really seemed like a big deal to spell it out everytime I gave someone my email address, since I already had to spell out my last name. But know I have a much easier last name, one that everyone should know how to spell. So now when I have to spell out my email address it's kind of annoying. Today I attempted to create a new account. Do you know how hard it is to create a unique email address out of Sarah Martin? Yeah, I gave up on that notion pretty quick. If anyone has any good ideas I'd love to hear them, otherwise you can find me at the same old address.

Weather in Tucson has been beautiful this summer, we have only had a couple weeks with out rain since the monsoon season started (at least at our house). I'm going to be sad to see it go, I love it when it rains here. Probably one of my most favorite things in life. I love driving home and seeing the beautiful Tucson Mountains out my window. One of these days I'll take some pics.

Josh and I went to Vegas a few weeks ago to hang out with friends and see Adele and shop. She was amazing! Life is great, love Josh, love Arizona, love my friends & family. So pretty much I love life.
