This is 短歌行by 曹操。In the movie 赤壁 2, there was one scene when 曹操was reciting this poem. I find it really cool. And it shows 曹操's desire for talent and his political goals.

Christmas

This Christmas, I was at Joyce's house. And I missed three buses... and walk 5 bus-stops as I do not want to wait for nothing (I almost can walk to her house liaoz, 3 more bustops).

Ok, why did I missed the buses. When I reached the interchange, I missed the bus. So i decided to walk to the next bus stop since the bus waiting time will be rather long. But who knows, just as I was reaching the next bus-stop, another went passed me. Thus, I walked another 2 bus stop. I was checking the directory and another zoomed past me.

Finally a 4th bus came and I board the bus.

Learnt and played Tennis at Joyce and Louis house. Tennis was a very very demanding yet fun sport. Woosh goes the ball...And we played 3 on 3 tennis also. Haha, played with Chuan Dao, Xiu Hui, Joyce, Louis, Jian Ming, Huang Peng and Zhi Qi.

Silent Night! Holy Night!

Christmas Eve. Holy Night. Christ was born over two thousand years ago to deliver man from sins, to light up the world with hope. It's a merry time and joyous time. It's also a time to give others the best present or to introduce to them the present that was already prepared for them , waiting for them to receive.

Some might wonder, there is no free lunch on Earth bah. However, his salvation is really free. And it frees you.

This night, we had a mini carolling around the neighbourhood. Yup, the people know that there's a church around. But we must still carry on reaching out to them, in God's time, which we don't know when, they might be believe in Christ too. Yes, it's God's time not our time, so continue to spread the gospel.

Then there is also the 一家一盘菜 which we saw many brothers and sisters bringing food down for a massive potluck. It's a way to serve the Lord when we care for other brothers and sisters in the church.

City Dwelling

I wandered around the city, looking for presents and also trying to be young again. This is a walkthrough of where I went and my thoughts.

I first reached Tekka Mall. It is around Little India. This thought just rushed up my mind. I was waiting for the traffic light and when i look around...I wondered, the field is so big. There are still so many people needing Christ, yet am I doing anything to introduce this salvation to them.

After Tekka Mall, next stop is Sim Lim Square. I am looking for an air-con component for my father but fail.

Next stop, Bugis Street. This is one place I yearn to go because I really cannot catch up with trend. Or you can say I am oldish. It's time to learn what youngsters like and why? This would help in communicating with youngsters around my age which i could seldom find topic to talk about.

Bugis Junction. Just staying put for the time being for Air-Con. Bypassing the National Library, I reached Bras Basah Complex and then headed to Raffles City...City Link...Suntec City...Millenia Walk and then Marina Square. Was taking photos along.

Now about photography. I really thank God for my pair of eyes and the creation of the eye is indeed marvellous and awesome. The human eye is a complex human part and it could focus by itself faster than a camera. Furthermore, no matter how good photos are taken and edited, nothing beats seeing with your own pair of eyes. Agree? I like to take photographs for they are always reminders that during a certain part of my life, God gave me my friends and some other success. It's counting the blessings one by one which we should be doing.

At Marina Sqaure, settled for Claypot Rice, and then went to the Esplanade. Was too exhausted to continue...(both too tired and breathing in enough of exhaust gas). And I went home.

Happy Birthday Mummy.

I am glad that the Lord has gave me such a wonderful and caring mom. She has to work and take care of the family as well. She's always very tired...which make me always want to save money. She motivated me to work hard.

Though she might be quite naggy sometimes but all those are for my own good.
As her birthday is approaching, I decided to threat her with Dian Xiao Er. Too ex, so my father has to chip in a large proportion haha. But the food was tasty. Giving it a 7 / 10. Because some dishes are healthy too which is what my mom emphasises on.

I also pray that God will continue to bless her.

Meeting up with old friends.

Back to SJI because there's CLS activity. Initially, I hoped to visit the teachers but only Wen Lao Shi was there. They are busy. Yao Rong and Hong Kai was there.

After the activity ended, we headed aimlessly and landed in the Central. We had our lunch there and Yao Rong said that he is afraid of height, which might be joking. Haha. Actually, it is me who is somewhat scared of height.

Talking about fear. I don't like the feeling of slipping off something, the feeling of my legs in the air and height bah.

Then, I learnt a new sport. Squash. It's a sport that needs a fast reaction, which i might lacked.

Vivo

Venue: Sumo Jap Restaurant in Clementi.
Companions: Preacher Andy, Ying Ling Dao Shi, Chelle, Zhi Yuan, Zhi Qi, YS, Shifu Jiaxin, Shu Chun.
Remarks: Cheap and good for that price range
Yong Soon tasting the food.

And then, we head down to Vivo.

Venue: Vivocity
Companions: Zhi Yuan, Zhi Qi, Chelle, Shu Chun.
Remarks: Shopping for Christmas presents but i find nothing. After a big walk, realised why it is called Vivocity---CITY---it's big. We rest at Bakerzin. And sat down for a drink and talk. Wonderful time talking.

Morning at the Airport

Was sending a mission team off at the airport. It was early. Titus, Rebekah and me decided to take a train to the airport. Rebekah and me got onto the first train of North South Line to JE. But, Mr Titus who live so near to JE station was late...haha...But we were all dead beat liaoz after helping out in the church musical the day before.
And, yup, we sent the people over. I like to thank God that the team was kept safe and seeds are sown while harvest were harvested. Glory be to the Lord!

After this, we have a breakfast in Mcdonald's in T3. We were chatting on taxis because there was a taxi stand outside Mac. There were many models and types of taxi. And, they are all taxis. They drive and then charge you. They are taxis.

Titus, Me and Rebekah aboard the Skytrain.

Move It Move It at the zoo

This day, visited the Singapore Zoo with Zhi Yuan, En Ci, Shu Chun, Peng and Chelle.

Shu Chun will be very happy to go to her "home" haha. She's the "monkey". These are the animals we saw: according to the visiting order: parrots, crocodile, white-faced monkey (not sure), crocodile, monkeys, otters, flamingos, white tigers, chimps, pelicans, python, penguins, sea-lions, elephants, monkeys, crocodiles, jaguar, pumas, lots of unknown cats family (forget liaoz), pony, goats, horses, rabbits, guinea pigs, butterflies, lemurs, bats, mandrain ducks, stingrays, frogs, lions, giraffe, zebras, polar bears, hippos, wolfs...
And it was also an exciting trip. Except for hippos, just like in the film Madagascar, the zebra lived next to the giraffe and they are opposite from the lions. But what's most memorable is my experience with lemurs. And it taught me a lesson, nvr agitate an animal. In the Fragile Forest, I was talking to a lemur, it probably did not know I am talking to it too, " Hey, you like to move it move it" and as I walk away, it jump off to a tree beside me, or to be exact, a branch, and its toes seemed to landed on Shu Chun's head before leaping away. Luckily, no one was hurt and no direct contact was made. Haha...the lemur indeed like to "move it move it".

The otters with a smell

White Tiger licking itself

Elephants strong

One of my favourite shot.

The move it move it lemur

Grp photos with the performers.

Then, my camera went low batt....and the rest of the animals are capture in camera by others.

Iceskating Swoosh

This day, I picked up a new sport called iceskating. I am a complete noob...and I only know how to stand and learn to move slightly but not glide. Yet, it's an eyeopener. Luckily, i am not the iceopener. Haha. Ok lame.

Zhen Wei initiated the activity. Huang Peng was the teacher. And surprisingly, Yi Le came! Kallang Leisure Park was in an ulu place. Haiz, because JEC closed for renovation if not might be closer lehz. But anyway, it was an awesome experience with Peng, Zhen Wei, Jian Ming, Yi Le and Zhi Qi.

Camps

Camp 1:
Theme:
Campsite: Boys Brigade HQ
Date: 23th - 26th November 2008

I am an assistant of one of the group in the camp, together with Wei Sheng, Zhi Yuan, Zhi Qi, Tricia. I call ourselves FTH (full-time helpers), the others are (PTH part-time helpers).

Set off from church, still feeling a bit uneasy though. Relating and communicating with youth is not really my cup of tea. When I reached the campsite, it was in much better condition than my last visit which is about 10 years ago. The toilet is renovated.

First Night, we played station games. My station was leading the blind. And it is humourous to hear certain people to say: " Feel the drain" or " Feel my voice" when they could just trip over the drain the next moment. Then in my bunk, wow, cannot sleep, too cold. And at 4am, somebody alarm clock went off momentaraily with Simpsons' Spider Pig tune. Wow....i get out and slept somewhere else.

Next morning, it's telematch time. And during break, played street soccer in the court. Beware of Chuan Dao kick, it's hard. Well, a lesson to be learned for those late night sleepers who supposedly cannot withstand the consequences of staying up late. They get very sleepy...and till a point of anytime, anywhere. Night time....Game Time. Treasure Hunt, I followed my group, ran and ran, Zion Road, Great World City, along River Valley Road to near Wheelock Place, and then to Tiong Bahru Plaza. My group rox, high morale, singing all day long. A big thank you to leader Zhi Rong and vice leader Wen Jie. (Note: not my SJI friends). Nightsnack at Subway and walked back to Zion Road Campsite. I am very tired on that night. Waited for the shower room till 3am plus. So we spend the night talking in the canteen. Men's talk. And Wei Sheng song:

印度煎饼叫Roti Prata
Plantae
Prata
Prada

Third day. A killer day. Afternoon, another round of something like treasure hunt. FTH are the catcher....and it is even more tiring....we walk and ran more than the players lor. and it is again around the region from Valleypoint to Great World. Came back and packed some kopi for the teachers and helpers.

4个KopiC
1 个KopiO
2个Kopi

Yeah manz....night is skit time...and this time in the form of a mtv. I was shocked of course. But something new yup. Supper at night. Fried Kway Tiao, with Wei Sheng, Yi Hui, Zhi Qi, Tricia. Oh, Fried Kway Tiao there delicious. Not very dark nor very salty, just nice.

4th day, back to church, prepared for the children camp. It's a good chance for them to serve the Lord too.

Camp 2:
Theme:
Campsite: Salvation Army PraiseHaven
Date: 28th - 30th November 2008

Day 1, met at church. will be leading a primary school students. Enjoy doing actions in songs and the station games. This time we got an apartment like room. But I slept on the sofa. First Night went for supper, really hungry, prata at Railway Mall after treasure hunting around the campus. The teacher got everything too well done lar. Some are just too hard to find.

Day 2. The kids manage to learn something by going to houses of the elders and teachers to do certain cleaning or baking. Which the cleaning part is often only a little bit only. They aslo had to do artwork as well. Artwork was quite complicated. Making a wooden armchairs out of pegs. We had a fun time doing maintenance for them. They do enjoy the camp and it's worth it.

DAy 3. Went back to church. The children performed skits on several people like; John Newton who wrote Amazing Grace. Dr John Sung, an evangelist in China...and then present their handmade craft to the parents. And I certainly wished that they continue to honour their parents even after the camp.

Camp 3:
Theme:
Campsite: Church
Date: 4 - 6 December

Hey Hey Hey, it's kids camp! And I have to lead the morning exercise. So i managed to think of some cute moves and funny steps. The kids are so cute. And I think the speaker bring our the message of serving the Lord well. We have to listen closely to God and love Him. The kids could understand that they can start serving the Lord with simple work. Funfair in the afternoon. Tiring. Luckily, there's no bowling. I tried it last year and got a backache and a shirt of sweat.

Day 2: Morning workout again. They have Mac for Lunch. And then practise for puppets show. The older kids really tried their best to control the puppets which are suppose to be done by adults. These two puppet shows were then presented to the younger ones. Two lesson learnt: Salvation is free and also we must be alert to temptations around us which could endanger us. The cd for one of the puppet show spoilt. So I had to be the voice together with Hao Ning for several characters.

Day3: Zhi Yuan's turn to lead the morning exercise. Then, the parents came and we have the puppet shows too. The lesson learnt could serve as a reminder for adults too.

After these three camps, after the message brought out, it really encourage me to continue to serve the Lord. It can be through our daily life and also through serving in church.

Conclusion:
3 camps in 13 days
With great fun though no pay.
Listening to what the bible says.
Through games we bond, we learn, we play.
Equip ourselves everyday,
so that our spiritual growth won't decay.

Camps after Camp

Ok, this week and the last are busy weeks...3 camps in like 13days. Sure to be tiring but sure to be fun. Will be blogging at one go next week. But without photos, privacy purposes for the participants bah. Anyway, nice to see all of you. Exams over and guess i am blogging now.

Just an update of what I am doing recently. Apart from camps, I have been borrowing books from the library regarding photography and cantonese, picking up basic piano and guitar lessons from Youtube, undergoing physical training, planning for camps, and compiling my songs. Should be starting to play bball soon.

So be it. I won't rot. I will never rot. There are just too many things awaiting me to do. And my life is really interesting. With Christ, there is hope in everything.

And new slogan from me. Will introduce to you all next week.
Guess I might want to enter DotA...
