Family update

I just wanted to put this on because it is my favorite!! It was from quite a while ago! Anyway I wanted to do a quick update since I haven't blogged since march!

We are finally all settled into our new place in Wheeling! We really like the area! There are tons of parks, swimming pools, golf courses, and all kinds of activities for kids!! We really like the ward and have made a few friends. I have yet to find a place to play soccer! I might have to drive a little ways to find a place to play.  For now I workout in my basement to keep myself sane:) I just signed up for an 8 mile trail race in a state park in Ohio... it's supposed to be tough so i'm a little nervous about it.  I sign up for these things because it makes me stay in shape, otherwise I would sit on my couch and snack all day! About two weeks ago i had a rough couple of days.  I felt like I had been stuck in my house all day ( I had a car so I could leave) with crazy kids!  I am sure any stay at home mom has felt this way at one point or another!  I talk to a 2 1/2 year old all day long, clean endless messes, and cater to a 10 month old... all the while my husband is at work from 5:30 in the morning until 7-8 at night! I was going a little crazy!  That crazy schedule should be over now that he is starting a new rotation monday (Psych).  I also was feeling a little homesick. I was thinking of how much easier my life would be if I lived around family!  To be able to drop the kids off at my parents or my in-laws or Great grandparents just for an hour or two to do something on my own!  I feel like I would be a little more patient with Zoey if I got those breaks sometimes:) On the upside, I am learning so much and am so lucky I get to see my kids learn and grow everyday!  I know that I have to have those bad days (or weeks sometimes) to truly appreciate the good days! It is an amazing experience to be out here in West Virginia. I have learned how important my little family is when they are the only ones I have... they are my life.  I have also learned how much I appreciate my family in Utah! Both mine and Jason's family have been so supportive and I never doubt how much we are loved! We get phone calls daily and even packages every once in awhile.  It makes us so happy to know they are thinking of us! I am so grateful for skype!  Of course it isn't as good as seeing family in person, but Zoey and Beck at least get to see them almost every week! Enough with my ranting!

Jason had his first rotation of third year ( 8 weeks of family medicine).  Like I said before it was kind of a crazy schedule for family med, but he learned so much! He got to see a lot of different cases and got to do quite a few injections, sutures, and tons of history and physicals.  His first day of his second rotation is psychiatry.  Hopefully his hours are a little more family friendly... I'm crossing my fingers!  On friday (last day of family med) he got off early so he decided to go golfing since he hadn't been in forever (his words... I wouldn't call it forever).  On his way home he got in a car accident.  He was stopped at a traffic light and someone hit him from behind.  Luckily he saw it coming and tried to get out of the way.  The lady had fallen asleep at the wheel and opened her eyes 10 feet before she hit him. She slammed on the brakes, but was probably still going about 40 mph.  We don't know the status of our "baby" truck yet, but chances are it is totaled.

Zoey......Zoey, Zoey, Zoey! I don't know what to do with that girl!  She is in a full blown terrible 2 stage and it feels like it will never end! AHhh!  She doesn't listen, steals the binkie, doesn't share, throws terrible fits, screams and much more!  All that said she is still pretty good!  When she is in a good mood she is SO SO fun! She plays with Beck, walks with him, feeds him, etc.. She has long conversations with me that are in depth.  She is very smart! She is in a stage where she loves to sing and dance!  We actually just signed her up for a dance class that starts sept. 12th.  It is an intro to ballet, tap, and hip hop.  I have zero experience with the whole dance thing! We bought he a leotard and she wants to wear it all the time!  She napped in it and also asked me "mom can I go swimmin' in this?!" I will update on how the dance class goes.  She scolds Jason and I often!  She'll say stuff like "If you drink my milk, I will be really really mad and put you to bed! You unda-tand (understand)?" Wonder where she gets that?! Sometimes when she says stuff I think uh oh do I really sound that haggy? Makes me reconsider my way of parenting! She is also VERY independent! Anytime she has to go potty she runs in, shuts the door and says "just leave me alone okay mom! I will do it all by myself!" On that same note she also likes to peel her own eggs and clementines.  She has gotten very good at it:) Her favorite songs she likes to sing are 1. Call me maybe 2. Song on Lady and the tramp ... "we are siamese " 3. Old mcDonald had a farm   4. chuch songs and of course her abc's.  She is a crazy girl, but we sure do love her a lot!

Beck is getting cuter by the day and has such a fun personality! I love the age he is at right now!  He plays, teases, and is happy most of the time.  He takes a beating from Zoey and takes it well:) He sometimes tries to get her back. I love to see them play together.  He is walking so well now!  He just started standing up on his own without holding on to something! He gives high fives, waves, blows kisses, gives really good kisses! He is however quite the trouble maker!  Zoey never really got into stuff when she was little, but Beck is just opposite!  He gets into the toilet, unrolls the toilet paper, opens drawers and cupboard and throws stuff out, and he also tries to crawl in the dishwasher to get dishes out! He is a busy boy! We love him so much!  He loves to play with Zoey, play peek a book, play with anything noisy, wrestle with dad, and most of all he loves balls and to play outside:)
