Mardi Gras 2010

No Mardi Gras is right without a little tailgating!

Kenzie, Kassidi, Kaden and myself enjoyed celebrating Mardi Gras in
Gulfport today with Kristin, Michael and Grandma Curry. We attended the
Orange Grove parade and Krewe of Kids.
Of course we have to corrupt the young!
Though he doesn't look like it here, he loved all of the attention.

It's Been a Long Time!

I am hoping to update my blog every month at least.  Since it has been a long time, this blog is going to be a basic update on what's happening.

Scott is looking forward to starting his fast pitch softball season.  Practices begin on Monday and tournaments begin on the 13th, that following weekend.  This will consume a large part of his life through the beginning of May.  His break of a few weeks will consist of end of the year activities for school.  Then he will have the summer games start.

I am still looking for a new job after being laid off over a year ago.  It is difficult to find something to do at home while tending to 3 loving kids during school hours.  If you have any suggestions, please post them!

KaitLyn has a big year ahead of her.  She is beginning her 3rd year of softball while attending 2nd grade.  She is also preparing to be baptized on her birthday in July when she turns 8!  If you would like to attend this event, please email me for details.

Kenzie is now 4 years old.  She has suddenly grasped the desire to read books and is learning the alphabet as fast as possible.  This is a big achievement for her as she has not had interest in school related activities until now.  She is also wanting to write her name and learn all of her numbers.  I'm very excited about this new growth in her.  Her speech is constantly improving as she is trying to do better.

Last January, she insisted on baring her testimony by herself in church.  Though nobody understood what she said, she felt the spirit and was very proud of herself.  She has recently began to direct music and sing songs by herself as long as it is her own idea.

Kassidi will be 3 in March and has changed drastically.  She is a very tender-hearted little girl who seeks cuddles and approval.  She is just as eager to learn as Kenzie and thinks she is just as big.  She does have some language development issues we are working out.  If it were not for those, I believe she would be speaking in intelligible paragraphs.

Kaden is now 7 months old.  Scott says Kaden is in love with his mommy.  :)  He likes to cuddle and is very curious.  He is a huge flirt with ladies of all ages.  He has the cutest smile with his two bottom middle teeth showing often.  His sisters seem to think he shouldn't be allowed to cry and they think the earth revolves around him.

As for my siblings .....

Debi and Russ moved to Utah last year with the kids.  We are glad for all the positives this has given them, but are sad by the distance we now have between us.  We wish they were closer so we could see them more often!

Jeni and Kari are both plugging away at work and taking each day one at a time.

Robby and Paula will be making a trip out west sometime this summer.  I hope they have a great time.

Kristin and Michael have their first baby due in late June to early July.  We are excited for them and are helping to prepare them as much as possible with the essentials needed for a newborn.  A baby shower has not been planned yet, but I will post when I get details.

As for Scott's siblings ....

Leigh Ann and Matt now have 2 boys and are living in Virgina.  Ian is now 2 1/2 and Reid is 5 months old.

Jared and Kristin have their first baby due late February.  They are keeping everyone in suspense as they don't want to know what it is until it arrives.  We just hope the best for all of them and are anxious to hear about the new addition soon!

Robbie and Trey are both working steadily.  We are very grateful that they don't live too far away.  We get to see them pretty regularly and the girls love their special outings with them.

Well, that's us in a nutshell.  Hopefully I can give more details soon and try to update this more often.  Thanks for hanging in there with us!

Kenzie's Birthday

Kenzie is now 3 years old. I can't believe how much she has changed over the last year. Although personality and maturity wise she is growing, her heighth hasn't changed a great deal. She is only about 4 inches taller than Kassidi.

Kenzie is loving life and thinks of herself as a "big gir" (girl). Her hair is darkening and was getting long until her birthday. For some reason, she decided to give herself a haircut across her left side. I am now trying to hold off until after Halloween to have it fixed since she is supposed to be Cinderella. Afterwards, we will probably have her hair cut into a bob to allow the different layers to grow out as equally as possible.

She will begin attending the elementary school for her speech services and is looking forward to going to "her" school like KaitLyn does.

Kristin's Wedding

Kristin's Wedding

My baby sister was married on July 25th, in the Columbia, SC Temple. We had several family members there including KaitLyn and myself. I do believe everyone had a camera with them. (As you can see from the pictures, KaitLyn loves her aunts.)

The trip was fun, though short. It took us 8 1/2 hours to get to SC. We stayed in a hotel for two nights and then headed back home.

This Friday, August 1st, Kristin and Michael will be on the coast visiting. Their reception will be held that night in Gulfport. When I get more pictures, I'm sure I'll post a few more.

New Blogger

I am new to blogging so you will have to bare with me.

I am the mother of 3 girls and married to a wonderful, hard working husband. I work full time from home for a computer company as I watch and play with my girls. My oldest daughter will be in 1st grade this year and is excited about school starting again. My husband is a teacher/coach and is also ready for the school year to begin as his games are already approaching.

I don't have a lot of free time on my hands as you can imagine. However, whenever I get the opportunity, I like to take pictures, draw, play sports and read. My favorite author is Jack Weyland and I do believe I have all of his books. Unfortunately, the only thing my 2 yr old has allowed me to read lately is Sleeping Beauty.
