Zambia- The trip that changed my life- Part 5

Random pics that I just love!
Is there anything like this sunset?!

Erin LOVED being with the kids and playing with them.  She had SO much excitment that she just couldn't contain it!

Playing volleyball before the day started with the translators

Carrie's husband took this picture while he was on the water tower above us.  Hi Miguel!

Since we brought professional photographers with us, they had some equipment set up and it makes for a fun picture.

Kundalila Falls~
We left the church at Teta and took our Serenje orphans with us to the Kundalila Falls.  Most of the children had not been there even though it is about 45 minutes (by bus) away from their village.  We had to hike down to the bottom of the falls.  But boy, was it beautiful!

Teta~
We traveled about 30 minutes down the road to a neighboring village called Teta.  Last year, we helped put the roof on Teta's church so they wanted us to come back for a dedication service.  We decided to also spend the following day doing a VBS program with some of the children there.

This was CHURCH!  People packed in but praise God we could be together.  Forever a lasting impression to me on the power of the Church in Africa.

Doing a creation skit for VBS
Jack did an awesome job speaking for the children.  Daniel translated for him.

Just want to love on them!

Zambia 2012- Trip that changed my life Part 2

The bus that we took from Lusaka to Serenje and back.

The truck that we loaded with all our luggage!

Leaving Lusaka with our Zambian friends and drivng the 7 hours to Serenje.

Every couple hundred kilometers, you have a police checkpoint.  They are making sure you aren't doing anything illegal like child kidnapping, drug smuggling.  It made me feel just a little safer.

This is a typical village on the side of the road from Lusaka to Serenje.

Everywhere you go, people are walking but impressively, they are carrying something on their head and a baby!

The sky was so beautiful!

The Hope Center in Serenje, Zambia.  The center of it all for us.

The Hope Center is surrounded by a fence.  Here we are walking back from the market and waiting for someone to let us in.

The Market!  What an experience!

Tomatoes as far as your eyes can see!
Avocados!
Best bananas ever!

One of the Pastor's sons
Linda!  Love her!

We were in small groups most of the time.  Here we combined the red and yellow girls groups.

I was on bubble duty!  Kids love bubbles where ever you are!

Devin and I with the cutest kids ever!

This little girl couldn't speak English but held my hand a lot.  Love transends language.

Introducing our Zambian friends!  Clement!

Daniel and Penuel!

Penuel and Marjorie (brother and sister)!  Came back to meet us the morning we were leaving so they could say goodbye again to us.  Love you guys!

Penuel and Festus

Penuel, Nyambaza, Bethseba, and Daniel.

Marjorie and Mary are making the nshima for dinner.

Typical meal is nshima (water and cornmeal), and rap (kind of like spinach).
