End of Summer/back, rather just to...school!!

Many of you know that Chris and I decided to put abby in a 3 day a week Mother's morning out program at a local Methodist church in town. For lots of reasons really, i won't go in to them all...so no judgements from the peanut gallery reading this! Here are pictures from her first day when my mom and i picked her up. The first week was REALLY hard. Like - really hard. The second week has gone so much better, and day three of last week was especially good. Hopefully we've gotten past the rough parts and will be settled in untill Libby is born and abby's world is rocked upside down once again. Also, the end of summer meant that abby had to change Gymnastics coaches. We love you coach Llaras. She's been abby's coach for 6 mths, and abby LOVES her!

On another note, speaking of the end of the summer, two weekends ago we spent the weekend with Chris' younger brother Clint and his wife Sarah. It was the most beautiful weekend - the weather was so nice. They took us to this place that was a sweetooth lovers wonderland and we were able to actually sit outside on the porch without the ice cream melting and without sweating to death. We also went out to eat and got to sit outside. They had a clown that came around and made abby balloon animals. Nice! Seeing as how Sarah is from Alaska, I think she really appreciates any time the summer weather dips below 90!! We had a great time visiting and getting to be with them for the weekend.

Butterflies and Ballerinas

Ok, Ok. so it's not July anymore. It's almost not even august (yeay me!). I just have to say that seeing all the fall and halloween decorations out makes me feel like this pregnancy is quickly coming to a close, and i am very thankful. Speaking of, we started working on the nursery a while ago and abby immediately started refering to it as "my room". So, i figuered we better FINALLY get her room all done up and put stuff on the walls since i've been planning to for the past 2 years and just could never make a decision and come up with a theme or anything. My mom and my friend barbara gave me good advice, "start with what you've got". I got most everything for abby's room from target - it didn't turn out so bad...and libby's room is Land of Nod curtains and letters for her name. My friend Barbara told me to use my scrapbooking paper for the frames and the canvas mats and i was like, "WHAT - such a thing has never been done to scrapbooking paper!?!" (of course it has - just not by me). It turend out so well. The rooms aren't finished, but here's what we've got so far. (the Libby letters will go over the changing table and there will be white shelves on either side of her window. Can't wait for everyone to see it in person. Sorry the rooms are still a mess from this weekend!
Libby's room....abby has been such a good and helpful big sister!

Yes, the room really is that color green! "Libby" is going to go over the changing table which now has a hot pink changing cover on it.

The ballerina pictures are postcards i bought in London YEARS ago to give to my nieces for being flower girls at the wedding...but of course I never got around to giving them...sorry. but i am glad i saved them.

This picture hung in my mom and aunt pam's room from the time they were 9 yrs old.

And now Princess Abby's room....butterflies and flowers in her princess dress!

These are my and abby's blessing dresses.

The wall with the two blank canvases will have butterfly and flower wallies on them - as soon as i paint the canvases!!
