the hunt for wiis in october...or, if i had of done this in october, i would have one by now

Man, we had a busy day today! Abby and I went to her first Gymnastics Unlimited class - i got as much of a workout as she did! It was really fun...then we met Dad for lunch @ Chilli's..Abby was semi ok, but very tired. Then I sent Dad off in search of a Christmas present - Nintendo Wii, and Abby and I went home to take a nap!
Brandy and I had been talking about organizing/deleting digital picts, so i was working on that tonight and i came across a sweet pict from last christmas/new years with abby and her aunt sarah -

Dear Diary...

It's amazing how life changes, how technoligy changes. To think that when i was a kid, i started out with a little paper diary i was given @ my baptism, and 22 (short) years later, I am using a blog to type out my inner most feelings for all of time and space and anyone with a computer to read. I am a little intimidated that people i know will read this and be 1)amused 2)offended 3)concerned for my sanity....but I guess it's really more of a way to let people know what's going on in the ricker household than for me to use for my musings!?! Today chris and i went to pick up abby from my mom and dad's - it is SO GREAT to have them nearby - we ran into someone i used to work with last night @ the mall and they were also out christmas shopping and also had their kid with their MIL - loved it. My friends that have parents live farther out have to spend a fortune on babysitters or drive hours to meet up and hand over the kids. we really rely on my parents a ton. parents either seem to be overbearing and overprotective or distant and aloof...guess i am finally greatful for the former.
anyway, we went up there and i took a couple of picts of abby on her favorite thing - the swing. she could swing for hours!! she is amazing and it's true about 18mths - language EXPLOSION!! mom was running through the list of animals and asking her what noises they make. she knows everything but cat - apparently in 17mth world, a cat moos right along with a cow.
