It's Beginning to Look Like Christmas!

Not the best pictures, I was expermenting with different settings, but you get the idea. Also the tallest tree in the house is about 3 feet, but we have lots of them.

A new addition was added a Christmas pointsetta. The weather was alot nicer, but it was really breezy.

Our main Christmas tree in the living room

We have the nutcrackers guarding the entrance, and the carolers singing to the visitors.

A little Christmas spirit.

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree, how bright your lights are shining.

News From the Front Line

We got to talk to Sean about ten days ago. He is continuing his application process to the academy. Because of the situation in Iraq, they are going to wait and have him take his ACT’s when he gets back to Germany. This will give him more time to study. A couple of weeks ago they sent out an F-16 which came back empty, meaning they bombed somewhere (he hasn’t seen the video on the hit yet) but he was given the lanyard for that missile. It is treated like an award. When the jets come back loaded they replace the lanyard on the missile until the next load. So he was excited about that. Finally, he was named Airman of the week. What a great accomplishment to be recognized for this. I will be watching the newsletter page, and will send you a copy when it is published. He is doing well. He said it is beginning to look like Christmas in the mess hall. They have also been given packages from support your troops programs. He said he had the best cookies. He also said it was nice to know that people where thinking about them during this time of the year. The weather report is COLD. He said it is getting to be about 20-30 degrees. I didn’t know it would get that could over there. I guess the go from one extreme to another.

HAPPY Thanksgiving!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year in my brand new kitchen! That's right, it is finally completed and I couldn't ask for more! Baking went wonderfully in my new double ovens and extra counter space and cleaning was a breeze for those big pots and pans in my new larger kitchen sink. And of course best of all my two daughters and son in law flew down from Utah to spend Thanksgiving with us! And as usual the weekend went by way to fast and before you knew it they were head back home.

These are my old seminary kids!

Happy Birthday Son!

David Lane Almond
November 4, 1982-June 6, 2007

When david was just a kid, for one of his school assignments he had to write three things that he was thankful for. First he wrote that he was thankful for his big sister because she would always play him and had fun. Second he was thankful for his dad who was always there to help him with his problems and becuase he would bring him gifts when ever he came home from traveling. And last, he was most thankful for life. He thought it was the greatest gift of all and loved being alive.

We are so thankful for the blessing to have had David in our Family. We miss him very much and think of him often but know he is in a better place watching over us.

Our Son the Airman

Our youngest son Sean is currently serving in the Air Force. He has been stationed in Germany but is currently in Iraq for the next 5 1/2 months. We are so proud of all of his accomplishments and pray for him daily. We love you Sean!
