After a few cancellations due to weather we finally made it in this week for the girls second RSV shot. Luckily it's just a quick appointment with one quick shot - but they also weigh the girls. Ellery weighs 17 pounds exactly and Emily weighs 14 pounds 15 ounces.
I had previously reported that these shots were expensive and that I had awesome insurance that was paying for it. We'll I was wrong in two accounts - the first is that for 6 injections for both girls the cost is $30,000 (EEK!) and the second is that my insurance coveres all but 20%. Now I should be happy that they cover 80% but that is still a lot more than I expected to have to pay. But, our alternative is not to get the injections and increase the risk of hospitalization for the girls....no thanks...don't want to be responsible for that! Two shots down four more to go! :)

RSV Shot #2

Udates
We've had a lot of movement in the house lately. Not only are the girls skilled professionals at rolling around and pivoting to get what and where they want. They are also in the early stages of crawling. They both get up on the hands and knees. Ellery kind of lunges forward like and inchworm and can move pretty quickly. Emily likes to move backwards. We find her halfway under the couch, under the bed, and pretty much anything she can get under. Luckily it's all too low for her to get her head under...thank goodness. But as I said before, they move fast! As I'm writing this I have to keep a close eye on the babies that are trying to lunge for my computer. They love laptops, remotes, and cell phones and like everything else they go straight into the mouth.
They are both very noisey. They "talk" all day long even though they are the only two who know what's being said. They are also both screamers which most of the time it's not because they are upset. They do it all the time and it's painful to hear. Luckily 80% of the time they think it's funny, but man I thought Emily was the only screamer....boy was I wrong.
Neither is sitting on their own yet. I think they could, but they just don't want to. It's all related to them being preemies but we're working with them because once they realize how much more you can see and do when you can sit I'm sure they'll love it. (oh there goes the screaming again)
They are both blowing raspberries and making some odd smacking sound with their mouth and tongues. I think they are starting to wave too!
