A little change

I didn't know there were so many complications involved in the changing of email address.

Especially Gmail.

With my YouTube and Blogger account linked to the email address, there's no way to unlink it.

So, I moved!

yin-hui.blogspot.com

Had to create a totally new account under the new email to accommodate for the change.

This is totally driving me nuts.

Dimsum Fellowship

Lei Garden, again, with the newly-formed fellowship.

Haha! Yes, it seems a little silly to forge a fellowship over dimsum but aye, I'm not complaining. Bring on the hunt for tasty, mouth-watering dimsum!

Roxy's flying back to Warwick soon and won't be back till next summer.
Till she's back, next weekend would be our last meeting.

Till next time!

The Pump Room

Let's start the post off with good old sunshine.

Sunrise on 14th September

The Pump Room on Thursday after work with my manager, warehouse supervisor and Shirley. I don't drink beer but I was forced by my manager to try this Irish Ale. It was bitter (like all beers) but bearable.

The live band there was good. The lead singer (guy) has this awesome voice which reminded me of Gary LeVox from Rascal Flatts. He didn't exactly sound a lot like Gary LeVox but at some points, it was close.

Shit, I don't know what to blog about.

One Year

Time does flies.
Happy 1st Year, love!
Thank you for being there all the time.
Too bad you're stuck in camp now, but no matter, you'll be back!

Random.

Starbucks during work is a luxury.
Now sleep. Work tomorrow.

Different

I'm not going to comment, I'm not going to comment, I'm not going to comment.

Takes a lot more will power than I thought.
Remember, she doesn't care and you shouldn't do too.

It's not like she will listen to anyone.
Ah, she can go screw herself up for all I care.

Peacock

Lemme introduce Katy Perry with her latest album..

Teenage Dream

This album reminds me all over again why I dig her songs.
Her album's cotton-candy scented which is now what the inside of my bag smells like because I left it in my bag overnight -_-

A personal favourite song of mine, the very suggestive, PEACOCK.
Just listen to it, you'll know what I mean. *Winks*

Firework, The One That Got Away, Pearl and Hummingbird Heartbeat are some others songs I like to listen on repeat.

I wanna see your peacock cock cock,
Your peacock cock..!

Friday Late Night

Friday, 03.09.2010

Frozen cheesecake while working..

Low-fat Less-sugar cheesecake is.. Horrible.
I like mine high in fat and sugar.

And when day turns to night, the children come out to play.
Oh, that sounded eerie.

Meet Oska!

We did the usual. Eating, catching up on everyone's life and just a little gossip.

Looking around, I noticed all of them are working hard towards the big dreams that little kids have when they were young. It is very clear about the place they will have in the society a few years down the road.

Let's see, we will have a lawyer, doctor, businesswoman, nurse, teacher and psychologist.
I'm not sure about the psychologists part though (lol! sorry Aaron).

And working made me realise what people say about not needing a (paper) qualification to climb, is utter bullshit. You need it and boy, do you really need it.

It may be my friends' influence or my own ambitions but I am going to work on getting that qualification I need to get me higher.

Subject: Dinner Photos

Hi all,

Wow, I have been blogging a lot more often than before!

Anyway, FYI.
Dinner and KBox with colleagues on Thursday.

Photos below for your reference.

My manager..

Failed artistic shot..

My manager and supervisor made me take photos of the sun while driving along the highway to, urm, test my camera's capability. Well, I don't know if it got their approval but I know it has got mine!

Best Regards,
Li Yinhui (Ms.)

I Puzzle Me

Allow me to question myself.

Why were you so bent on getting the W995 (your current phone)?
That's because it's a Walkman phone and it has a 8.1MP camera.

But you know that it is rendered totally useless by the fact that you have an iPod and a camera to replace those functions?
Well, yes. I KNOW I AM A TOTAL IDIOT! Now shut up.

The only uses I have for my phone are 1) Text Messaging 2) Calling
So, let this fact sink into me. I forked out S$400 (w/ plan!) for a phone that I only use for calling and text messaging. Wow, took me a year to realise that!

Just die Yinhui, just die -_-
An army phone gives me the same bloody functions and costs less than S$100 (w/o plan!).

I think my most recent splurge, a Canon S90, is proving to be the only best decision I'd made over my entire history of purchases. Oh alright, throw in some apparel purchases as well.

Photos off the Canon.

Huge strawberry from grocery shopping @ NTUC!

For anyone who cares enough to bother, work has been good. =D

Friday Date Nights

Friday date night @ Udders with the usual crew.

Cows tits!

Carin asked me to try Earl Grey and I liked it! I mean, I've been having Earl Grey tea either at Starbucks or self-brewed in the office but Earl Grey ice-cream? Turns out, it has the same fragrance and taste as the tea itself, only frozen and quite awesome.

You can't really see it but someone suggested GARLIC ice-cream.

Ahem.

Yes, I have bangs.
I wasn't listening closely to the stylist and said okay to whatever he said.

To date, I've tried:
Ballsy Mint, Rum Rum Raisin (whoa, alcohol overdose), Chocolate Orange thingy (alcoholic), ChocMarsh, Awesomely Chocolate, Earl Grey and Strawberry Fields.

I will NEVER try durain.

Just a look?

A knock on your head and I hear an echo.
Oh, now that explains it all.

I need to stop splurging.
But why do I always convince myself that it is necessary? Sigh, my brain needs tweaking. Things are getting out of control ever since I gained financial freedom. I do save, but real badly.

Hi, think about your university fees and hating the idea of borrowing from the bank!
But I want a guitar.. And lessons to go with it!

I am really hopeless -_-

Step Up 3

Awesomely. Awesome. Awesome.

It was a last minute decision to catch the midnight movie though we were all tired.
However, at the end of it all, I was so high with adrenaline. Dancers? Sick. Choreography? I AM HIGH ON ADRENALINE!!

So good. So good. So good. So good. So good. So good. So good. So good.
Rave rave rave rave rave rave rave rave rave.

Long Beach @ East Coast

My first corporate dinner and boy, was it awkward.

Well, on the upside, the food was good and I get to claim the cab fare home! HAHA!

But I realised that using food as a topic is quite the ideal ice breaker. It's like a global topic. The ones who were doing most of the talking were the 2 English men and South African (no, he isn't black, he's white) who are old players in the field, that is, dealing with cars and car parts.

When the topic went from food to pets to rusty gasshockabsorbers to gearboxes and whatsnot, I just sort of stoned and made small conversations with the ladies who were there talking about going on vacations.

Apparently, there are more of such dinners to come.
I'm just a minuscule fry and have no idea how to handle such events where it involves people who have a significant standing on the corporate ladder.

Pfftttt.

Stoned.

Wonder if you guys seen this news?
Just a small excerpt.
300 holidaymakers left in lurch after no-show by coaches
By Ng Lian Cheong and Alvina Soh | Posted: 07 August 2010 2013 hrs

SINGAPORE : About 300 people were left fuming after the agency they had booked to travel with left them in the lurch.

They had paid to go to Malaysia by coach with Alisan Express and Tour.
..... blah
..... blah
..... blah
it is still not clear what had happened to the lapse in service.

Channel NewsAsia understands from industry sources that its owner could have run into debt problems.

Police are investigating the case. - CNA /ls
To sum it all up about what has this got to do with me?

I am one of them.

The 8 of us who were supposed to head down to Genting just had to stick our ass back in Singapore.

And no, we paid way more than the reported $30 for the coach fare.

SINGfest 2010

I know I haven't been updating my blog as religiously as I would have liked.

Apologies to anyone who bothers to read the page of a horrendously lazy person and would like people to buy the story that she's been tied down with work. But she's pretty sure the people who reads her blog does not add up to 10, so there's no harm done. Peace.

So anyways, on 3 Aug 2010.

It so happened that Ziyun had free tickets and when I heard Katy Perry was performing, I just HAD to go.

Yes, I'm quite a fan and am unashamed to admit it.
Not only is she a great entertainer, I love the fact that she has a style of her own (in both her songs or quirky fashion sense) bundled with a great personality.

Katy Perry

So I cabbed down straight after work and the fare was mad expensive.
I reached a little late but just before Orianthi came on stage and boy, does she know how to rock with the electric guitar.

Then there were Wonder Girls and Tokio Hotel.
Went a little crazy (too tired after work to go really crazy) when Tokio Hotel sang 'Automatic' and 'Monsoon'. Think they had one of the best stage effects, with all that outfit, flame bursting and confetti.

Katy Perry was the last artist to perform and she was so late. By the time she started performing, it was near 11.20PM and I was dead tired. I may be a fan, but my personal needs come first and all that was going through my head was "wow, she's awesome!" followed by "sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep".

I left while she was singing 'Teenage Dream' halfway. Ziyun wanted to wait for 'California Gurls' but.. SORRY! My mind was shutting down.

Ah, wish Katy Perry would hold a concert of her own right here and I'd so grab myself a ticket.

Thought Bubbles

Ever since I started working, I kept thinking about what I really want to do and it's definitely not having a desk bound job like the one I have now though the thought of climbing up the corporate ladder is very much tempting.

But I'm thinking, office jobs are not for me at all. I know me. I want to run, hop, skip and leap around just about anywhere! But where can you find such an awesome job like that? And oh ho ho, the funding needed for the crazy escapades of what's going through my head right now isn't gonna be exactly pocket-friendly.

Held captive is the boundless energy just waiting to EXPLODE.

Now, wouldn't that be nice. I'm saying if it did explode, of course.
Oooooo, I'm getting an adrenaline rush just thinking about it.

Digressing: Watching Coraline and though I watched it before, I still find it eerily freaky.

I am so taking up guitar lessons. Any takers?

It's teevee!

*Snorts*

The entertainer entertains yet again. So anyways.

I passed my confirmation and am officially one of them permanent staff with full benefits. And I love the benefits I have. *Sly smile*

And..

I wish for a Sony TX 5. No, make that 2 please, one for my bestfriend too!
We shall rule the world with it. HAHA!

Save and scrimp. Save and scrimp.

Dental Woes

The holes in my teeth were fixed with a small fortune.

See, my teeth had been decaying for quite some time now and I had no freaking clue till what, last week? And when the doctor kept telling me it's really bad, it's really bad. She was shocked that I had such a big hole in my teeth at my age.

Wow, thanks for the confidence boost.

Weirdest thing, I didn't felt a thing when my teeth were decaying. Even when the doctor was poking at my teeth with those mean looking instruments, I didn't felt pain or anything and the next thing she said was:" I think your nerves died."

Urm, thanks? Nice to know that something is seriously wrong with them (my teeth).

Of Surprises & Liars

(24.06.2010)
"I'll love you tomorrow," says Jasmine to her boyfriend, Terence.

Apparently she hates surprises but he held a surprise birthday dinner for her at House @ Dempsey with all of us there. Parents, brother, his friends, Roxanne (yes, she's back from Warwick!), Carin, Leroi, Jiehui, Daryl, Mark, Aaron, Joanne Chee & boyfriend, Lawrence.

She walked in, gorgeous in a black dress she bought just hours ago, eyes covered to the awaiting subjects of her surprise. She called us liars after that. Hur hur.

Some photos I stole off Jasmine's facebook.
I'm just too lazy to go into details.

The Girl with her Boy

It was a lot of laughing and talking and eating.

After we made her open our presents, we continued to yak till the place was a few minutes from closing. Oh, we all found a common uhhhhhhhhh, dislike and form of entertainment. *Inserts smiley face*

We meet again, Ishikawa Diagram!

I thought I had left it all behind when I graduated. Well, NO.

I am part of this project that aims to improve our work processes. Oh yes, hello to all the Ishikawa Diagrams (Fish Bone Diagram) and process charts and flow charts, AGAIN. Once again, I have to break my head trying to think up of all that Cause-and-Effect stuff.

Doing project even on weekends? Nothing gets better than this.
Feels like I'm back in school.

Now, I will just enjoy the mantous and watch TV.
Ishikawa Diagram? I'll attend to you later.

Pokemon for a Day

I have officially become a TP Alumni as of 20 May 2010.

Some photos to tell the tale, the rest are on Facebook. Frankly, I thought our graduation gown was really nice and many said it looks like a "Harry Potter" robe. LOL! We need us some wands and broomsticks please.

We all became Pokemons for a day, the evolving and the evolved. The speech, purely in my opinion, was rather weird. Why Pokemons? =/ Oh wells.

Currently, my Facebook wall is flooded with graduation photos.

That concludes my graduation and I'm too lazy to make a speech about it except that it had been an amazing journey, meeting and making friends along every step of the way.
