Merry Christmas '09

Elder brother, sister-in-law and Smoothie (dog) moved in with us on Christmas Eve. Loved the dog addition to our household! It's nice to have a small white furry hairball run around the house and I have always wanted a dog of my own. Super adorableeeeee! =D

So I spent my Christmas Eve playing with the dog for most of the day before heading over to Beach Cabana for Christmas countdown with a few others. It was fun though the drinks were mad expensive.

Photos!

Homemade cookies by Ziyun!

HO hO ho!
And I currently have my relatives over for Christmas.
Ciao!

So, have A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

And... I. Love. You!

High

Major project had been unexpectedly fun!

(Well, for now. I don't want to think about what would happen near the project submission date.)

So, we've been heading down to the company religiously every Thursday and Friday to review their warehouse processes (AHEM), having lunch breaks that are more than 2 hours long and playing Hangman for quite a few hours. Mahoooooo!

Friday saw the same old fun with a little dash of Daytona, Time Crisis and the Basketball dunking thing you find at an arcade.

Hohohohoho!
And I'm already picking up on the Christmas holiday spirit.

Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock.
Jingle bells swing and jingle bells ring.
Snowing and blowing up bushels of fun.
Now the jingle hop has begun...

Do you see a plane?

No, but I think I heard one.

And Cabbage wins over Victory!

24.11.2009, Tuesday
Almost Complete

Dinner @ Plaza Sing without Huiting because she fell sick! With the camera woman not around, we'd just have to make do with my phone's camera which isn't exactly the ideal option.

But oh wells, better than none right?

It was quite a short but good gathering.

And my dear lady,
Please please please please please, you cannot continue your eating habits nor exercise regime like that. The way you are working at it... That will just deal a whole lot of damage to your health even though it's not showing. You are near anorexic and you know that yourself. I'd just scold you senseless the next time I see you. Ka-pish?

I hate my report at the moment.

Last of Internship

Internship has finally ended and I'm glad yet sad at the same time.

I will definitely NOT miss the long hours of sitting and staring at the computer screen and the stressed up office environment.

But I will, of course, miss the people there. They were all really nice and so willing to teach (well, except for *cough cough*). I was hyper touched when the ladies over at export gave Kailee and I some farewell gifts.

I'm not a plush toy person but the gifts means a lot to me.

I will miss Rozzie's yellow nonsense, Cindy who keeps telling me not to laugh, Ling's home-cooked food, Fanny the pregnant lady, Andy Yeo who always seems so stressed but full of nonsense, Kak Di's laughter and.... Aiya! I will miss everyone! =(

I'll have these photos as mementos.

Kid, Amy, Kai Lee, Ee Ven, me, Andy Yeo

With assistant manager of import, Adam. He's so darn tall!

Together with Fanny, Aoyagi-san (front) & Takahashi-san (back).

I see different intensity of green.

Senior executive in export, Cindy.

Manager of ocean freight department, Selvia.

Ladies from logistics.

And to express my gratitude, I got them Merci the day before.

Merci! For taking care of me and putting up with the mistakes I made.
Heh! I had a wonderful time in Yusen!

Internship Countdown: 16 Days

Total power failure in my company from the early morning till about 12.30pm.
Whoooooooooooo! 4 hours gone just like that!

Was walking into the company's premise and I saw my HOD with a group of people standing near the security guard and I thought that maybe some major corporate thing was going on, like they were gonna welcome people in, ya know?

Until the assistant manager who also happened to walk into the premise beside me commented 'Ha, power failure huh?' then did the light dawned on me. Walked into the lobby and realise, "OH SWEET MOTHER, I got to climb up 5 flights of stairs in my heels!"

Climbed and walked right into total darkness (reception area had no windows) and for a moment, I stood there blinking madly, trying to get my eyes to adjust to the sudden darkness before making my way towards the door with my arms stretched out in front of me ._."

For the first time, everyone is not working when I step into the office. People are busy fanning themselves or chatting or making up for their lost sleep. According to a colleague of mine, a total power failure has never occurred before in all her 5 to 6 years of working in the company.

Ooooooooo, I'm honoured then, to have this experience. ROFLMAO.

Everyone was saying we should all go back home and sleep since nothing can be done as the computers can't run and the company's network is obviously not up as well, so those with notebooks (like me) can't do anything either even if they can switch it on.

My colleagues all ended up gathering in groups and started chatting while I tried to take a little nap at my desk.

But the power did come back on (aw, crap) and everyone continued working.

End of story.

P.S.: I will blog about something else rather than all these internship-related things the next time. PROMISE! I have so many things to blog about which I haven't done so. Think this is the 2nd time I'm saying this. =X

Internship Countdown: 49 Days

I present to you my current addiction.

Lipton Yellow Label Tea, specifically, red.

What does it do for me?
Cures boredom when there is a lack of work assignments in the office.

Doesn't make any sense?
I'll show you sense.

Time taken to walk to the pantry is made as long as possible. Same theory goes for spooning in 'em creamer and sugar into the cup of scalding red tea, which is, by the way, brewed by taking my own sweet time. I make sure I walk back to the office slowly too, my new addiction with me. Tea is then savoured as slowly as possible.

Cures boredom, no?

WAHLAU EH. Exaggerating much. Hahahaha! I'm going mad, obviously.

Eh, I have some updates to do, one which includes bestfriend and I at her place making cream puffs on Mid-Autumn Festival and playing with her nieces/nephews/cousins.

BUT... I am being very lazy, which you had most probably figured out, judging from the miserable amount of updates by yours truly.

Oh wells, shall leave it till I-don't-know when.
My bed is reeling me in with some unknown force.
Stills haves works tomorrows yos! (ROFLMAO)

P.S.: I'm putting on weight like madness SIA! #$%@^&*!

Bon Voyage, Roxie!

BON VOYAGE, ROXANNE LOW!!

I'm so going to miss you! =(
All the way through from taking photos together and watching her go through the gates was like a roller-coaster ride. The emotional turmoil inside me was trying to burst out but I suppressed it as hard as I could. I know I will see her again in December!

Have fun and study hard in Warwick babe!

Must totally keep in touch!
XOXO

Internship Countdown: 77 Days

Heart shapes all over my internship company!!

Everyone is awfully friendly and helpful. Couldn't be any better!

So far, even people who don't work with us would come over and ask us how we're getting along. At the same time, they would share a bit of their wisdom with us. Each and every one is ever so patient and willing to guide us through this internship of ours (that would be Kai Lee, Yiliang, Ivan Lin and I) and I'm truly deeply touched.

I'm pretty free of workloads for now but I feel really weird not doing anything because everyone else around me is busy doing something. Let's hope I get some tasks soon! My Logbook needs a little filling up to do anyways.

But I did get to use a little of PORTNET, understood what the whole process is like, the billing documents involved (Tax Invoice, Delivery Note, Arrival Notice, Permit, Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoice, Packing List) and ISO!

Goodness gracious, their ISO 9001:2000 Quality Procedures file was so damn THICK.

Dumb TP Portal! Let me get through!!
ROAR!

Bunch o' Nerves

I'm extremely happy with my internship's company's location.
It's right beside Expo! Which means I can wake up late since I only take about 20 to 30 minutes to reach? Awesome-ness!

Results out via SMS tomorrow!! D=!

My nerves are all over the place. Doesn't help to think that I'm going to start internship tomorrow too. I hope the people there are nice.

Internship allowance is pathetic. They'll be gone the moment it reaches my bank account.
How nice.

Friendship Binds

Post-examinations all-girls gathering!

With the usual bunch at Yunxia's place once again. I love us all! I think we're just gonna have our BBQs there from now on. Haha! Her place's really great for gatherings.

Once again, Junhui and I got the fire up and burning in no time. We're the best! =P

I don't know why but I felt very lazy then and didn't barbeque much, as compared to the other time where I stood there and barbeque-d for the whole process. Oops!

辛苦你们了 Ziyun, Charmaine and Yunxia.

I forgot what Joanne was laughing at..

LOVE YOU ZIYUN! Haha!

I didn't eat much even though I didn't had breakfast and lunch. Before the BBQ, I was starving, but after a few mouthfuls, I felt bloated and just looking at the food made me want to throw up. Super saddening because the food was great but I just couldn't bring myself to eat it.

Booooooo! Blame it on my monthly good friend!

Packed up around 9 something, headed back to Yunxia's house and took a few group photos.

For the first time, a full complete group photo with Yunxia in it! =D

Darn weird looking heart shape. Haha!

Both Junhui and I fell out of this photo laughing just as the flash went off. Haha!

Talking about everything random when we're together is awesomeeeee!
Love love love love love.

Crashed and burned pretty badly.
I detest it.

Calculus Mania

I can't believe I did what I did.

So, I didn't have any papers yesterday and I thought I'd spend my day practicing Calculus. In my context, practicing just means flipping through notes, write a little bit and spend the rest of the day trying to figure out how to do application questions.

Instead, I hovered over 4 sets of past-year examinations paper and completed ALL of them in a span of 8 to 9 hours, which is pure madness and very unexpected of me. Even I shock myself. Oh alright, I gotta give credits to my friends who had been pushing me to practice and practice. A big thank you to Melody and Jikai, whose help and explanations were invaluable. THANK YOUUUUUUUU! Love you guys to bits.

And frankly, mathematics is the only subject that I can just keep doing and not get tired of. Mainly because there's nothing theoretical about it. Theories make me want to sleep all the time. Numbers don't.

Best wishes to all who are taking Business Calculus paper today!
YOSH!!

Exams love me please!

I'm supposed to be studying for Transport Management but I just woke up from a nap and my brain is not functioning all that well (yet) so I shall blog.

So, the life draining process starts.
I'm talking about End-Semester-Exams.

LPCS on friday was crap. I can kiss goodbye to my B+ (cry).
I feel very sorry to Mr Lum ._. He actually pulled my grade up from B to B+ for coursework but I'm gonna have to disappoint him by doing really badly for the paper. SORRY!!

Quality Management today was pretty good except for the case study part. I crapped my way through. All 34 marks of it. HAHA! Dumb ISO 9000

Coming up....
Transport Management
Calculus
LOMe

I'm hoping I can at least maintain my coursework grades.
Oh, but of course, I have the least chance in maintaining my grade in LPCS ._.

28 Aug 2009 (Fri) - Logistics & Operations Measurement

Sports Hall (Seat no.: 466)
I've been having supper about 2 times a week on average at either 201, Simpang Bedok or 85 for the past few months. I refuse to step on a weighing scale (LOL).

Yesterday was supper at 201 with Junhui, Xinquan and a friend of theirs, Zhao Hwee. Jikai drove so he picked up Hongxiang and I along the way to meet the rest but we were super late. We reached near midnight though it was planned to meet at 11pm. Oops!

Oh yeah,

HAPPY 19TH BIRTHDAY JOANNE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Hope you enjoyed those presents and phone calls (HAHA)! By the way, how did the background singers fare? xD

Anyways.
We sat there, ate, drank and yakked for about.. 2 - 3 hours? Instead of going home even though it was near 3am (and some of us were tired), we headed off to this playground near Junhui's place and stayed there till about 3.30am before heading back. Madness, but I like!

Junhui walked home while Jikai sent the rest of us back.
Thanks dude guy!

----------

Today was madness.!
When you're bored and going absolutely crazy at home, what do you do? Watch movie 咯! At least that was what Jikai and I did.

We were exchanging nonsensical dialogues on MSN just moments ago and the next thing I knew, we were at Tampines watching "吓到笑". It's this "hor-medy (horror & comedy)" movie by Jack Neo. I was surprised when I saw that the tickets were selling fast 'cause I personally thought that the whole movie is a big joke. Oops, yeah, I had quite a bad impression of the movie at the start.

I didn't expect anything scary because the trailer I saw was, well, DOTS, but I got quite a bit of a shock at about 3 parts though Jikai was pretty calm beside me (that's why full blown horror movies are way out of my limits). CG was quite terrible, but other than that, it was pretty funny and entertaining to watch. Good for relieving boredom and have a dose of laughter at the same time.

Wow, for a moment, the movie sounded like some medicine.
Haha!

Ice-Skating

Yesterday was Benneth's last night in Singapore since he's leaving for Vietnam for OSIP today and so, they planned to go ice-skating @ Kallang Leisure Park that night.

It's my 3rd or 4th time ice-skating and I still suck at it.
-_-" Boooooooos.

But we had loads of fun even though the falling down part is certainly painful. Jikai fell down the most (say O.U.C.H) 'cause he was doing some complicated turning thingy I-Don't-Know what and I'm the runner-up for falling down.

Even Linda who was skating for the first time had lesser falls than I do. Haha!

It was only near closing time that we decided to take photos.

Linda & Junhui and... Feelers xD

I just realised Jikai has this way of smiling..

And they started doing jump shots which I didn't dare to do at all.

Xinquan

It was doing this that his butt got owned really bad. HAHAHAHA! =X

He's doing the sliding.. Thing.

Jikai, Benneth, Xinquan

We headed off to 85 and had supper since we were all starving after skating.
Homeeeeeeeee.
