The "Ensign's" message for Halle

Remember Halle saying she would learn to ride her bike without training wheels when she turned 5, and then she turned 5 and decided that 6 would be a better age to obtain this goal?

Well, she came across the "Ensign" and saw this picture and decided that right then, right at that moment would be a great time for her to learn to ride like a "big girl", so off she went!
She hoped on her bike and taught herself how to ride. I hadn't even gotten my shoes on to go help her learn when she came running into the house yelling, "Mom, I did it...I can ride without my training wheels!"
I went outside, and sure enough she could do it!
This was just another sign of her showing us that she will do things on her own time, her own way!
Gotta love her and whatever message or inspiration we get from the Ensign!

Whoopie Girl

As most of you know this is the original "Whoopie Girl" who is the official mascot of the Ogden Pioneer Days celebrations. Her picture is all over during the month of July, and Skyler was "drawn" to her because... of course the boots, hat, rope, and
RED HAIR!
This is Skyler's sketch of her!
This took her about 20 min to do.
We were all visiting at Trev's parents, and looked over and this was what she had done.
We did a "google" search on the "Whoopie Girl"  and found out that the original painting is worth $100,000.00.
I saw the $$ in Skyler's eyes, and I think THAT has inspired Skyler to keep drawing.
**Don't be surprised if Skyler starts asking you to buy some of her art! ;)

July has come and gone!

This year for the 4th of July we went to my friend Cheridan's house. It was fun to get together as friends and BBQ, make smores, and visit.
Cheridan lives on what some might call a farm. She has horses, chickens, pigs, snakes, cats, dogs, and whatever else wanders through the yard.
Halle loved playing with this pig. She kept going over to it's cage and talking to it.
She loved to hear it "oink" back at her.
Best friends since high school! We have so much fun together. Thanks Cher for a fun 4th!

Clinton Day's was fun this year. Thanks to Adam and Deanna for setting up chairs for the parade and the fireworks. It was really one of the most pleasant parade/firework experiences I have had. (those things can get a little...how should I put this...not worth it!)

The girls had a lot of fun. We were wishing Trevor was there with us, but he was having his own kind of fun. He took the Cruiser out for it's first trail run of the year.

Lusk Family Reunion in Bear Lake!
Meet "Ginger" G-pa Guy's new dog.
The girls loved this little dog. I'm not sure ginger felt the same, well at least about Halle...after she buried her in the sand from the neck down!
We spent most of our time at the beach.
The girls had fun building a sand castle together
The boys had fun building a "raft" out of supplies provided by the reunion
It was a contest of who could build the best "raft" in 15 min.
The "raft" had to hold at least two people. These were the two brave, (and lightest) family members we recruited.
Let's see if this thing works!?
Their floating! Our family did an awesome job!
Cute girls doing some crafts
Robby and Autumn bought a boat, and took us all out for some fun. I think G-ma had the best time! She did not want to get off. She said it was so great seeing all of the kids ride the tube. She couldn't believe they could stay on for so long...especially with Robby driving!
Oh Deanna....don't kill me for posting this! I LOVE IT!!!
Erin on the knee board.
Trev on the wake board!
This was the "adults only" boat ride. Thanks to Maddi and Heather for watching the kids while we went out.
It was a fun weekend with the family.
G-ma Larsen is the last one of her generation, so it was nice to share this weekend with her.
