2014

Just a summary of my 2014 days..

January 2014:

Had a holiday trip back to seoul again and this time, it was during the winter. Went with the Baka and her sis, mum plus my cousin. Stayed in BoA guesthouse and the room was unexpectedly disappointing. Too small for us to open all of our luggages that we had to take turns. The bathroom is small too. Plus there is no free laundry for us. Location wise is slightly acceptable. Near Hongdae subway but there is a steep slope for us to pass through in order to get to the guesthouse. The only good thing was the common kitchen and free breakfast. Though we didn't get to make any friends this time too. 

Aside from the usual shopping areas, we went Gwangjang market where they sell mostly hanboks. Had some of the street foods there and omg, their Jeon is really tasty!! There were two 할아버지 sitting next to us and asked where we were from and after knowing, one of them mentioned Lee Kuan Yew and started to blabber something which we can't understand. Probably some history stuffs?

One of the morning while the rest were still in bed, me and Baka went for morning walk and travelled  to Jelphi and Neganetworks. Didn't see any artistes though. And we got breakfast from a nearby Starbucks. 

Because it was winter, we went skiing at a skiing resort. Fun? Nah it was totally different from what we thought. No fun but muscle aches everywhere. The equipments were heavy too. We came to a conclusion that skiing would be fun if you're an active kid.

Went shopping at Emart, and I actually spent about 85,000 won. Haha too many foodies to bring back!! Was shopping at Ehwa University and Baka wanted to color her hair and I also decided to join her. I got mine done at 70,000 (if remembered correctly).

February 2014:

2D1N staycation at conrad in celebration of the Baka and Cheang's birthdays. 

March 2014:
Went for FT island concert with A, E and G. Special opening performance by N.Flying. OMG. When they appear in front of me seated at the VIP Pen (I was at the side of cat 2), my focus went to them. Haha. After the concert, to celebrate ML's last day of singlehood, me and A went with S to meet her friend and ML at Clarke quay for a drink. Okay, it was my first time at a pub at that hour. Hung around for a while before A and I cabbed home
because my mum called. Haha.

A big day for S's aunt, ML. Got requested to help out as one of the bridesmaids. Color theme was lavender (omg the color already scares me off!!). Planned a lot for the gate crashing. it was so sunny and hot in the morning but nonetheless it was a whole lot of fun!! There were 10 best men and only 5 of us, bridesmaids. We were outnumbered so we actually went in twos, to prevent them from barging in etc. Received lots of angpaos!!

The solemnization and banquet was held at Marina Mandarin. My second time attending a wedding. Haha. Went up to their suite to change to my own comfy dress and then went down to help out at the reception which was quite fun and met many people too. During the highlight which is the yamseng, we were called up to the stage as well. My first time doing yamseng on stage and it was the best throughout the whole day. After everyone left, we stayed back to calculate and divide the a goal money. About $94 each from the groom and $18 from the bride's mum.

April 2014: can't remember what I did. 

May 2014: 

Met the in laws for the food tasting of the big bro and dasao wedding. First time meeting them, except for the in law sister and her husband who were absent, and I ended up sitting beside the in law brother. Haha couldn't stop thinking why does he resembles one of my cousins so much. Haha.

June 2014:

A big day for my family. Haha the big bro finally is getting married. 10 years of relationship.. They really came a long way. So tempted to catch the gate crashing live, but too bad I'm from the boy's side. The videoman came over to our house at about 5am. Lol my family only slept a few hours as we were doing some last minute check the night before. After the big bro left, we went to catch some more sleep and woke up again for the preparations, before big bro brought dasao back to our house for the eating tangyuan segment. Oh and I finally get to see the big bro's buddies again. I think the last time I see them was when I was in primary school, when they always come to our house. Until most of them started to move house and they stopped coming. Except for one of them who still live nearby. They were the best men.

From my experience from ML's wedding, photographers really gave weird requests. Haha I already warned my family before the big bro's big day. After photo taking sessions we set off to Park Royal on Pickering Road for the banquet. During the yamseng session, (oh yes, my favorite moment) the best men cheered really so loudly that I can't stop looking back at how much fun they made at the back. Haha I wanted to join in.

After the banquet, we went up to the suite room. It was a side by side two rooms - one is the couple room and the other is the common room with an extra large king bed. Lol dad and second bro took a nap, mum was busy talking and taking photo with the aunt while I watched the television. Haha.

One week later, the big bro mini house warming with the aunties only. And we had a mini surprise birthday celebration for mummy. Sharing with second bro, we gave mummy a pair of her favorite pearl earrings and gave Dasao a bracelet because her birthday would be next.

July 2014:

My birthday!! Because of my love for LINE Characters especially Brown, I specially ordered and customized LINE characters cupcakes and gave out to friends who I will meet. Aside from that, teehee, second bro sponsored my dream cake from Ritz Carlton Greenhouse!! Mango mousse with mango jelly topped with fresh mango!! It really tastes so so so yummy.

Got last minute free tickets from Z's brother to Lee Hongki fan meet. Went with E to Festive Theatre and surprisingly photography and videos were allowed. After the fan meet, everyone had a turn to have a hi five session with him before leaving. Wanted to say something to him in Japanese but I forgot the words when I went up. Oops.

Also met up with S to celebrate her birthday at Carousel, Royal Plaza on Scotts Hotel. International buffet lunch was awesome. Tried almost all different cuisines they have.

August 2014:

Had another staycation at Rendezvous Hotel. Yes, with the Bakas and Cheang again. We did the ALS challenge in the bathroom. After that we went to the pool and jacuzzi which was when my phone
spoilt because the jacuzzi water went in. While the Baka and broccoli went for EXO concert, Cheang and I went for dinner and then went to their club lounge for drinking. 

September 2014:

Two days of YG FAMILY concert!! Too awesome. Day 1 at VIP mosh pit and day 2 at Cat 2. Though only PSY, BIGBANG, EPIKHIGH, 2NE1 and WINNER, it was still a whole lot of fun!! Was hoping Akdong Musician, Leehi and Team B will come too though. Hehe and not forgetting the Kwon twins. 

October 2014:

Had a mini birthday dinner in  celebration of PY and Isa birthday with the Baka.

November 2014:
Finally Cross Gene came!! The second kpop  event I went with Baka. Ticket price at $118 but we got it at $10 each. Haha suddenly got tempted to buy the tickets despite my nearing exams. Omg Takuya!! Made me so high and crazy.

December 2014:
The last staycation of the year. But this time round wasn't with the Bakas. Went with J and CT, which was our first stay over together. Hadn't meet for years. Too many to catch up. It was 3d2n at Hangout @ Mount Emily hotel. Though it was a hotel, I find it more like a guesthouse. There is no television in the room. They had a common room on the second level. Free breakfast, like a mini buffet. Location wise is still okay. Walkable distance from the MRT stations and easy to find with their signage around the area.

The Last Farewell...?

Didn't expect that we got to talk during this last day, though it was not personal stuffs but just purely work.

Was doing some photocopying at the pantry and suddenly saw him walking  over (omg!). Thought he might want to pass through (as he said sorry as he walked over) so I made way but ended up he stopped behind me and asked my colleague (who was sitting behind me) regarding his leave. Lol I was thinking this - he asked this question when the lessons had just started?

Next, I was chatting with a colleague when he suddenly approached us, looking at me and asked which week was it etc. Glad I was able to give him the correct answer.

Lastly, just when it was almost time for me to knock off, I was told to get worksheets from 3 classes and his was one of them. Was kind of nervous so I took a deep breath (heard his voice from the outside, omg) When I knocked on the door and opened, his face appeared (omg!) and lol calmly I asked him for the worksheets. While he was seated and finding for the worksheets, awkward.. I was standing at the door there waiting, pretending to look at the stuffs in my hands and looking at him from time to time (the way he seated, omg). When he got the things to pass me, I'm sorry that I avoided the eye contact. (regretting!)

When I was about to leave the office, this (idiot!!) colleague of mine suddenly asked me to look after the counter and ran off to answer a phone call. Just when he was also leaving!! (Omg we could have left together...!) I realized that these few weeks he hadn't been bringing a bag.. It's either that he live nearby (impossible, I guess) or he drives (omg?)..

In conclusion, the final step is to have confidence in eye contacts when it is the last chance and not regret not doing it.

Being busy and can't really be bothered if we had the chance to talk or not, he came over and asked me some stuffs. Though the feeling wasn't as strong as before,I was glad that we talked, since it seems like I'll be leaving this job end of this month. Not sad that I'll be leaving this company, but a little down when the thought of not being able to see you pops in and wonder when we will get to meet again.
